(Early Friday release)
With this thought popping up in my head, I quickly got up, went back to the kitchen. Without realising that the lights were on, I walked towards the wall which contained the inscriptions.
I pulled out the phone, and snapped one clear picture of light inscription along with few more pictures to capture rest of the them on the wall. There's were too many of them and it would be really crazy to click pictures of each one of them and also that would require more time. So except for the light inscription for which I snapped a single image , for the rest of them I clicked a few pictures with many inscriptions in one image frame.
Once I was happy with the images, I turned off the light in the kitchen and went back to the room. I opened the image of light inscription and cropped the image to get better clarity. I then turned on the tab to scan this image. I waited until I heard the "beep" and then pressed the scanner bulb to confirm and to turn off the scanner.
Exactly after 10 mins, the results flashed on screen.
Pattern : Light
Usage Details
^ Trace the pattern starting from inside in an anti-cloc way. And then with outer ring in a similar way to turn on the light
^ To turn off the light start with the outer ring in a cloc direction and then the inner one
^ Maintain the dimensions of the pattern to avoid causing damage
This was something I already knew of. I intentionally had scanned to find out what was it called, to help me with the further search criteria. Now that I learned it's called pattern I pressed the forward button to go back to the main screen of the tab.
Phew if I stay here for a longer time my brain will be messed up with all opposite ways of handling things. I just hoped I was sane by the time I got back home.
I uttered "index" thrice and went with the rest of the steps until I reached search window and then gave the search command - "Pattern for hidden counters?" After few moments two patterns showed up on the screen along with usage details.
The first one was a small image which looked like two blocks placed one above the other and the usage details read -
Usage details
^ This will open up any hidden tiny counters
^ This is easy to operate as it's not secure and can be used to store non critical items.
^ Generally hidden behind another counter
^ To access this counter ensure the first counter is kept open and then trace the pattern to reveal this counter.
^ Pattern needs to be traced with bottom box first and then the upper box without breaking the trace to open the counter
^ Reverse the steps to close the counter
^ Maintain dimensions of the pattern to avoid causing damage
I guess that must be tracing the pattern without lifting the fingers. And it did not look like if there was a specific direction it should be traced from. This looked pretty simple.
The second pattern looked almost similar but it was more of a square with 4 equal compartments.
Usage Details
^ This will open up any hidden room in the vicinity but will need a three digit secure code to unlock it
^ You will need to trace the pattern with two boxes at a time starting from right boxes and then left boxes. Pattern allowed to break once after two boxes.
^ Once the pattern is traced a code bar will display to input the code
^ Correct code will open the hidden door
^ Closing the room will require reverse steps in the exact same order
^ Maintain dimension of the pattern to avoid causing damage
Well this looked a little tricky and may need some bit of an extra time. But first, I had to look to see if there was any such patterns which Ethan may have drawn on the kitchen wall. If there is a hidden room or a counter then there must be the pattern linked to them on the wall.
I opened the image gallery on my phone and carefully looked at the pictures which I had clicked a while back. I felt lazy to go back to that wall and check.
"Surprise Surprise "
I see both the patterns in the images. That's fantastic.
There were many more patterns including the one for opening and closing the window. But for now I thought I had enough task to be occupied with just these two patterns.
I went back to the tab to see the details of the both the pattens once more and memorised the tracing pattern. Also I clicked pictures of the both the patterns with the details and saved it in the image gallery. This would go to my goal category list.
Not that I couldn't rely on my memory but I wanted to show all these to Ray along with making a album of my adventures here, when I finally get back home. This thought alone was so inspiring that I planned to push myself to reach my goal as soon as possible.
With this happy thought , I cleared the history from the tab while I had this strange intuition that someone may be tracing my activities on the tab. If I get some time I have to find a way to hide my activities.
If they could build a tab like this with all protruding buttons , which stored enormous amount of information and the details being displayed in English, Ethan's race must be highly advanced. I may not have their IQ level but nevertheless I had to try as much as I could and did not want to give up.
Sometimes my brain tends to think non stop and I get drained out due to this. What if Ethan asked , how much had I figured out using the tab? I had to come up with a convincing answer. There was no way I would let him know what I had discovered. He may be thinking I am stupid and I wanted him to continue thinking the same about me.
Without wasting any further time I went back to the kitchen and switched on the lights I then moved near the inscription wall or let's call it pattern wall and started looking for the first pattern which was for the hidden small counter . I found it just above the light pattern while I also noticed the hidden room pattern just below it.
Although i was more tempted to try the hidden room pattern first, I held myself back in the fear of consequences, if I ever messed up something. Also I did not want to take any chances as I had no clue about the numbers or alphabets used in this planet to even try it out as the three digit secret code.
So I had to stick on to trying the two block pattern first. I turned around to see the charging counter still open and glowing. "Wow, I have been so careless. What if someone had just popped in? " These tiny careless mistakes are bound to put me in trouble. I'll have to be extremely careful.
I went near the charging counter, pressed the pattern in the centre of the counter to turn it off and pushed the counter inside. I left the counter door open as that was the pre-requisite before drawing the pattern . I then went back to the wall to trace the pattern.
As soon as I reached the wall I heard the rumbling sound outside. "Holy crap !!" I quickly turned off the kitchen lights and held my breath and within few minutes the sound died down. The charging counter which was turned on all this while, had increased the protection level.
I sighed and switched on the phone flash light and dimmed it. With utmost attention, I slowly traced the two blocks to remember the direction I started tracing from and then...
