The next few days, I went to work as usual and on weekend of this Saturday, I spent my time volunteering at the Charity house in the soup kitchen the whole morning.
Oh, Mei Lin had called asked me to go shopping with her, but I told her I already that I had a plans and of course she was not happy with my answer. At evening I plan to spend my time at the Century Park.
When I was growing up, after school I would escape from my house and find a quiet place to sit and draw. It was the only time I did not feel lonely and I liked to draw and painting pictures of all the places where I could go and hide. And my father used to tell me that I got my artistic ability from my mother at the same time I thought about my late mother almost every day and how my life would be different if she hadn't died, but like what I've said that nothing is lasts forever as you can either roll with it or let it kill you in one place.
So I grabbed my drawing case and pencils before headed out the door. Walking to Century Park wasn't long, and at the same time I enjoyed the fresh air that had made me feeling alive. Actually I've spent more time in Central Park since I've moved to Shanghai than anywhere else. The playgrounds were filled with children playing in the warm evening sun.
Then I made my way to the Zhong Shan Park. It was an audaciously large private garden and the of fragrant peonies, sweet osmanthus, and cherry blossom filled the air provided anyone present a soothing and calming effect.
It was easy for me to escape the world and take in the beauty of the gardens. It was like a sanctuary for me as there a place where I could go and draw just about anything.
So I sat down on the bench and I noticed a bride and groom over to the right of me getting their picture taken by the fountain. The bride was beautiful in her white wedding dress, and the groom was equally handsome in his black suit. They looked happy.
I smiled, this was the perfect place to get married and that would make the perfect painting.
As I was half way done drawing that when my phone rang. I looked at the unfamiliar number and ignored the call. A second later the phone rang again displaying the same number. As I'm sure whoever it was had the wrong number, so I answered it to tell them to stop calling.
Unfortunately, I froze as I heard the voice on the other side.
"Hello Miss Ru, are you enjoying your evening at the Century Park?" I started to get creeped out as I looked around from side to side and then behind me, yes that is when I saw Mu Kai walking towards the bench I was sitting on.
"I am Mr. Mu and it looks like you are to." He grins.
I hung up as he approached me. And I gasped when I saw him. He had a way of making me do that and I hated it.
He was dressed in a pair of sweatpant and a button down white cotton shirt with his sleeves rolled to his elbows. His hair, as usual, was perfectly tousled, and his sun-kissed skin glowed in the sunlight. I frowned at him as he sat down next to me.
"What?" he asked.
"How did you get my phone number, I do not remember giving it to you?" I asked as I was shocked for his sudden called and standing in front of me right now.
"O ho. I have my ways of finding out anything about anybody Miss Ru."
"Are you a creepy stalker?"
He threw his head back and laughed.
"Hell! Of course no Ru Wen, I'm not a stalker. I just have your number in case I needed you to help me to get home some night." He denied.
