Chapter 307: The Gift

Early morning in Texas, western United States.

The incumbent Governor of Texas, George Bush, watched the television reports on the presidential election with a rather ugly expression.

Although opinion polls and such were significantly inflated and not necessarily accurate,

the media biased towards the Democrat Party wouldn't dare to concoct data beyond about 5%.

Yet now, the Republican Party candidate was trailing the incumbent president by nearly 20%!

"All over Yahoo's homepage, nothing but praise for Clinton," Bush said, glancing at the report handed to him by his aide, his worries growing stronger.

"Now, most of those who use the internet frequently are middle-class whites."

"According to past experience, these people should be steadfast supporters of the Republican Party!"

The Governor rubbed his face and cursed inwardly, "Damn the internet, damn the information superhighway!"

Just then, the office phone rang.
