Love and Emotions

It was already too late when Vasillis remembered his purpose for coming to the Midford House. He was supposed to ask Alexandria's former servant for the reason for coming to the tree and what he was hiding by digging his former master's special place.

He had already left the place they were in earlier, he cannot just go back after walking out! He let out a sigh, was it really the time to be prideful? He should return to Bastien Cross even if it would make him look like a fool who walked out then went back in.

He could not stop his emotions and let them take over him, making him forget what he came to the manor for. Bastien Cross betraying the dear friend of his clouded his mind, and at that moment, he lost his focus and just burst out.

He was never like this before. He was a person all smiles, never agitated like how he was earlier. Or perhaps it was because no one caused him to be angered in the past. Well, that was the case, before it all happened.

Once we give in to our emotions, we will lose ourselves. At that point, instead of controlling our emotions, it will be our emotions who will control us. Just like a spirit possessing a person, we will not know what will happen to us or what we might end up doing. It will be the end before we realize what we have done. And it is too late for us to change anything, we will only have regrets, but do not have the chance to undo our actions.

How frightening what emotions could do to oneself.

"Alex--"

Vasillis was about to go back to where the Head Butler is but stopped and turned to the woman who spoke. Miss Millington was cut off when it was not the person she was calling, "Lord Vasillis…"

"Alexander--he is here?" Vasillis asked with a furrowed brow.

The lady of Millington nodded her head, "He was here with me earlier but you did not notice him, you were in quite a rush." she responded.

"Then where is he now?"

There was hesitation in her expression before she answered, "I did not notice that he...left."

Vasillis scoffed, if Alexander had already seen him, where else would he go but to the same place? 'Was he listening to us in secret?' he thought. He would not leave just by seeing that Vasillis came, he would only do so if he is guilty.

"I did not think that your lover would be so curious about the conversation of other people, to go as far as to eavesdrop on us," Vasillis uttered. His voice was full of contempt and with a touch of obvious sarcasm in his voice.

Miss Millington was sensitive, she held back the tears from falling, "Why are you speaking to me that way?"

Vasillis let out a frustrated sigh and looked at her with irritation, "Miss Millington, do not make this more-

"I did not do anything for you to be annoyed! If you are mad at Alexander or the butler, then do not take it out on me!" she exclaimed.

Vasillis fell silent, she was right, why was he annoyed at someone who did not do anything? He did not notice that he let his emotions take over again, involving the innocent with his bad mood. "I apologize, I am not...quite myself." Vasillis bowed slightly, apologetic.

The Lady of Millington House lowered her gaze, "I understand," she muttered. "I also never wanted anything to happen to your friend."

The lady took the man's hand, "I know how dear she is to you," she whispered. "She was also someone very dear to me."

Vasillis could not speak like there was a lump in his throat. It has been a while since he felt so comforted, to think that he would feel sad just by hearing the lady's voice, but his anger vanished.

He did not realize that he was hugging Miss Millington and the lady returned his hug and gently caressed Vasillis's back. "It is all right, you must have been so tired." the lady said.

"Whatever you hope to find, I hope the Goddess will help you so you will no longer be tired." she whispered, "Maybe then, a smile would finally return to your face."

A tear almost left his eye from hearing her words. There was something angelic to her voice, like a song that soothes you to sleep and relax as all the stress leaves your body. "Thank you, Miss Millington."

Now he finally understood why she and Alexandria were friends. Perhaps in all difficulties that Alexandria was experiencing in her life, the lady of Millington House must be her haven. Maybe it was only this lady who made her feel at peace in this chaotic world.

He understood because that was how he felt right now. But the peaceful feeling vanished when he felt an aura full of menace, even without seeing it, he felt someone's presence behind them.

Vasillis and Miss Millington pulled away from each other when someone held the lady's hand. Vasillis turned around and saw that it was the butler, Bastien Cross. He stepped back for a bit with a furrowed brow as he narrowed his eyes.

'Was that menacing presence really the butler? He was almost certain that it was Alexander, but Alexander was not there.

"Lord Vasillis, please do keep in mind that the lady you are hugging already belongs to someone."

Before the chaos,

"Lloyd?"

Lloyd Vasillis snapped back to reality, he did not notice that he went in a daze and was staring at his friend. "My apologies, what was the question again?" he asked, making sure that he heard it right.

"I asked what it feels to fall in love." Alexandria repeated, looking at Lloyd Vasillis while awaiting an answer from him.

She does not know why the man's face was red and had sweat breaking on his forehead in such perfect weather. "Do you feel hot? There's no sun in the sky, not even a ray of light hitting your face." she stated.

Vasillis laughed awkwardly and rubbed his neck, "Why do you want to know something like that?"

Alexandria did not respond and just continued staring at Vasillis. Noticing that his friend would not answer, he coughed. "To fall in love with someone, well...you feel light whenever you are with that person. Like you can do anything as long as they are near."

Alexandria remembered the time she was at the tree, Clauzia made her feel lighter than she ever felt before.

"Your heart would always race whenever you see them."

"I am not palpitating from coffee?"

"...no."

"I see."

"Your face would heat up-"

Alexandria went near him, "You are in love?" she asked, pointing at his face, Vasillis hesitated to answer but it was fortunate that Alexandria did not notice his feelings for her.

"There are a lot of other things you will feel once you fall in love, I cannot list it all down, but you will be able to feel it once the time comes," Vasillis added, trying to avoid his friend's question.

But the only mistake Vasillis made at that time…

Was that he did not tell Alexandria how dangerous it is to fall in love.

Once you start to lose yourself, that is when the chaos starts.
