1996

PROM-DATE wasn't far at all. December 31st came the D-Day.

Luckily for them, it was winter season. So the decent fall of snow along with the cool breeze from the late night made the red and black code of dressing, even more dashing, illuminating a wonderful environment to party.

Liz already knew it was going to be boring but she also knew she had to attend.

Everywhere was as usual. Guys in their black suit and girls in their red diner gowns. Everyone dancing, or taking pictures or just hanging around and so on.

It was really lovely as Liz and Spencer walked in hand in hand. Spencer spinned her around into a ball dance and she chuckled.

Her eyes roamed around the hall until she sighted Greg with Meghan dancing and her stomach ached. She quickly took a grip of herself. This night was solemnly for her and Spencer. And to remind herself, She looked straight in his eyes and rested her head on his chest. Still dancing.

The scent coming from the flavor of her hair shampoo aroused Spencer. He allowed his hands to caress her hair tenderly. Her tender skin on his body ached him. He wanted nothing more than to hold her tight, not letting go.

They continued the ball dance.

"It's boring here, right?" Spencer asked.

"Hm-mm"she affirmed. She wouldn't deny the feel of his hands on her was enjoyable but, she was still bored by this place.

"There's a small lake down south of this city. I can take you there" he said.

Liz's eyes grew wide with excitement. "And what exactly are we going to do there?"

"I could teach you how to roll a boat" he grinned now catching her full attention.

She looked at him, tilting her hair up; "really?!"

"Come on..." He pulled her tenderly and together they exited the hall.

Greg watched as they left the hall and wondered what they were up to.

Meghan wasn't surprised when she found out the reason for his furrowed eye brows. Indeed Liz and Spencer has succeeded in gaining everyone's attention.

She still tried to keep up the dance with Greg but he was falling apart. "Seriously Greg!" Meghan was irritated.

"I'm sorry. I think I'm not feeling too well" he apologized.

"You're not-- oh! You think I don't know Liz's fun with Spencer is causing all this drama?!" She said annoyingly but still trying to keep her voice calm.

"I do not understand what you are saying (he sounded weak) I'm not feeling well that's all. I must go now" he freed his hands from her. Meghan suddenly felt devastated.

"Go where?!" She screamed. Her screaming alerted everyone present at the ball dance. Everyone watched her shout and murmured among themselves. "You Are my date!! You Offered me a dance this night and I willingly obliged!! What do you mean you're going?!" She shouted at the top of her voice.

"Meghan, I don't mean to hurt you. I'm just tired and not feeling well and must go home" he started leaving but she rounded him up and faced him.

"Goddamn you Greg!" That brought a gasp from everybody's mouth. Those who knew she was a Rhyndorust were more than surprised at her character. "You asked me out and now you must finish what you started"she said. Anger raged.

"Finish what I started?" He paused then continued; "you know what? I'm done. Yeah, I asked you out now, I'm calling it officially done!" He yelled out in frustration.

She held on to him in frustration, saying; "You're not going away with this Greg!" She barked back.

"I am Megh. I so am" he replied her.

What made Meghan more mad was the thought that Liz was the one that caused all this.

"What has she turned you into?!"she suppressed her cry.

Greg was overwhelmed, Liz?. "Liz has nothing to do with this and as I said before I must go".

"You're not going anywhere Greg!" She swore inwardly. The cry had shown in her cracked voice.

"Let me be Meghan. Stop stalking me. I... Don't... Love... You!" He barked at her and left. Left her to her own shock. To naught.

She quickly ran for the restroom shutting the door wildly behind her.

Wailing out in despair, she cried her life out. Holding the ceramic sink to avoid her from exploding with immeasurable rage, she wept. Looking at herself through the mirror, she couldn't believe Liz did this to her. Looking at her awed face to her ruined make-up and sweating face in the mirror, she felt betrayed. She had never looked and felt this ashamed in her whole little life. Greg left her to her own disgrace in the eyes of all and sundry.

He doesn't love me... because of you Liz. She had never felt much embarrassed, much disgraced, ashamed, fooled in her whole life. Oh Liz, she muttered. She swore that Liz must pay for this. She promised herself that Liz would suffer more worse pain than she, herself endured.

Though she'll act normal towards Liz. But pay, she must.
