1998

SHE had forgotten Spencer almost totally through the help of Greg.

Anytime she was with Greg, she hardly remembered Spencer at all but back there in her heart, she missed Spencer dearly.

She had fun now without Spencer and was happy that was possible.

Time rolled into days, days into weeks and weeks into months. It was 3 months now that Liz had been in Spring leaders University without crying or weeping about Spencer as she did before.

This Friday, she played volleyball. "It's so unfortunate, the girls beat you guys" Meghan mocked Greg as they all walked to the seats.

"Well you can say that again, I didn't see you lift a ball" he said sitting and Liz laughed.

"Give me that water" Meghan said to Liz.

"Greg that was annoying. Don't do that again" Liz said to Greg.

"Only if she doesn't mock the boys again" Greg said.

Meghan dropped the water bottle angrily and left.

"Oh Greg, that was mean" Liz pitied Meghan.

"Was it?" He said drinking his bottled water.

"Just don't do it again. You know Megh" she chuckled.

They sat back on the bench resting from todays volleyball game.

"Greg...?" Liz called out.

Greg looked up at Liz.

"How's Spencer?"

Greg was surprised "he's fine" he paused and continued; "he thinks, talks and longs for you everyday. He's....mad about you Liz" he said.

"I...miss him" she let out.

"You...you wanna see him?"

"No"

"He wants to see you Liz, he's just an empty vessel without you. But, he's afraid meeting you would hurt you. He doesn't want to hurt you, he says he prays everyday for you to come see him one-day" Greg concluded.

"Just...tell him I said hi" she was hurt. "I can't do anything Greg, I can't. My uncle, my family, my background won't allow me do anything. I... Just can't see him" she said.

"I'm sorry" he understood.

"It's okay, I'm fine" she said turning to him.

They stared at each other for a long amount of time, hiding their emotions, trying to believe what they said. They both knew what they were feeling.

They're grown adults.
