I knew how Daphne felt like after she was rejected, she told herself not to like boys anymore. She was hurt and swore to herself not to fall in love anymore, Nathaniel made her hate the thought of falling in love.
"Be my pretend girlfriend"
"Why?" He looked around, checking if there is someone and looked at me.
"I don't want the media thinking that my ex-girlfriend and I split up. I also don't want her to think that I haven't moved on. "
I laughed, so he is using "Daphne" or me so that his girlfriend would not thought that he is not moved on yet. What a selfish proposal, I crossed my arm and gave him a pity smile.
"You are childish with that plan, you know that?" I said. "And selfish. So, please excuse me."
I walked out, leaving Nathaniel behind. I rolled my eyes and smirk as I took a quick glance over my shoulder, Nathaniel is left open-mouthed and couldn't seem to believe of what I replied to him. Daphne would do the same if she was in my position. After all, that was her crush that rejected her.
Mr. Smith noticed my expression as I walked towards him with my hands rubbing my temples. "Are you okay, Miss Summer?' Mr. Smith asked as he saw me in the basement parking lot. Mr. Smith opened the door of the car, I smiled. I laid my back against the car seat.
"Mr. Smith, I want to buy some coffee" Mr. Smith nodded and drove the car off. How could Nathaniel Clayton could propose that to her after she was dump when she was in high school? I looked at the distance and thought about Daphne if she was here, Daphne would reject him.
The car halted in a light brown colored café that reads "Coffee Club". The sweet aroma of coffee greeted me as I entered the café, customers smiled at me as they saw me. The light brown colored wall and the mocha colored chairs that was arranged around each table with the Industrial Modern Equilateral Triangle Pendant Lights and plants hanging on the ceiling, I miss visiting a café.
"Welcome, Miss Summer. We are honored that you visited here again." Visited here again? Daphne must love this place. I smiled at her and looked at the menu and look at its prices. The names were pretty cute and seems good to drink, I don't want to let the cashier think that Daphne has change.
"I'll go with the usual again and I'll take it out" I said and smiled at the cashier.
The cashier nodded, "Okay, right away, Miss Summer."
The cashier walks out of the registrar and start to make my coffee, I looked around. The sound of the mellow music and the smell of coffee that enveloped in the café, I miss being in a place that is quiet and can enjoy yourself by reading a book.
"Here, Miss Summer" the cashier said, handing my cup of coffee. I smiled as I took it and put my tip in front of her. As I went out, I noticed someone was watching me, I looked at the side of the streets but there's none. I looked around and brushed the though off, just an imagination maybe?
I shake my head walks towards the car and drove off, thinking about Nathaniel..
Nathaniel is a jerk, I shouldn't have to think about Nathaniel!
