Chapter-2:The House special with a side of salt, Please!

I had 5 minutes left, at this point I was gonna be late! Late at the first day of school. Wow, for a perfectionist, I messed up real bad. After checking my class and where it was, I sat down on a bench near one of the back gardens and fell asleep. I had a rough night the day before.

My feet carried me as fast as they could, classes after classes flew by, yellow hallways always the same, windows shinning the sunlight down into the hallways, made it shine regally gold, a hard body slammed into me and I stumbled and fell unto the floor. My chest hurt from the collision but my first priority was to look at who I had run into.

I turned around to see a divine sight. Purple hair, a set of deep brown eyes with long wavy black hair. She had fallen on the the crimson floor after I had bumped into her and was now trying to get up.

"Can't you see where you are going?" the girl shouted at me. I ignored her and the large eyeball that had manifested, looking, peering down at us from the roof and picked up my glasses from beside her. Immediately the goldscape returned. I turned and bowed to her and started running again, while she still shouted at me, in the same direction until I reached the class with the sign '1-C'. I looked at my watch, 2 minutes left, I spared a smile. I was not going to be late at the first day of my school.

I have 5 classes per day, then its free time. The first class was literature. The teacher could be called a Classics fan as he talked about George Orwell's '1984' and how it was an almost exact portrayal of the current society, so now I had to write 3 pages of 1984's relevance to the Rialta's modern society. Second was Civic and Ethic's studies. Hated this class, as the teacher was in love with the democratic system and thought that Rialta's elections were 'fair and just.'

Truth is for the last 700 years, or a 1000 years, since the start of this country( or kingdom), this place had been governed by a force uncontrolled by humans. A group was made to make sure that this was kept secret, to make sure hope was kept, to make sure life went on as always. Everything in this country was predetermined. Even me.

The 'Order' the group created, was almost a joke, a group of people trying to prevent destiny. Ironically, it was destined for them to do so. But I still gotta do a paper about 15 pages on ' Democracy in Rialta' and submit it by the week end. Next was PT, flopped it. Next was Natural Science, not gonna talk about it and lastly, Geo-Political studies. Not at all interesting.

When the final bell hit, I got out as fast as I could, the sun was high and the earth was scorching but my stomach demanded justice and a steak. So I made my way to 'Winny Food House', bad name of choice but then they didn't really want to attract customers. A healthy 5 minute walk on a empty stomach is like a hike on a steep cliff. With lead boots.

The entry to the restaurant , was quite plain just a board above a old, worn out door, the walls around it peeling off, the paint worn out. The door opened with a loud creak as I stepped in the inside was gently lit, with some tables placed around in a liner manner. A single man was on a counter at the right-back side of the room. I quietly, walked to the back-left making sure to make eye-contact with any of the people. I spotted the purple-haired girl on the other side of the 2nd table, talking with a guy with red hair and freckles along with a short blonde girl who was clinging on him.

Were what these guys had, was a normal life?

"Your order, sir?", the waiter broke me out of my thoughts.

"The house special with a side of salt, please. And a glass of 3-4th coke and 1-4 lemonade please."

I can see the disgust on the face of the waiter," O-Okay, anything else?"

I shook my head and took my books out and started to write my paper.

'George Orwell's 1982, although a satire and made from the mind of a human, its has its...….'

Even though, I did make a order, it never came. I guess people don't think demons need food.

It was 5 in the evening, when I decide to go home. I went to the counter where the waiter pushed a parcel to me, I nodded and left. Walking soft and fast, I could not be caught outside with this parcel. It didn't take me too much time to reach the dump of a home I had. Unlocking the door, and removing the trip wire from below the door, I went in. It was a dump of a place, with just two room, a small kitchen (never used), and a bathroom. Only one room was used by me. The second one was for work. This room had just a bed, a study table with a laptop and a phone on it, a cabinet and a wardrobe. The whole room had posters with weird sigils drawn on it stuck around it.

I threw my bag, on the table and sat down on the bed and started opening the package.

It had a document folder, a syringe and 14 vials of a liquid (greenish-blue) and a card with a loaded bow which had a eye on the middle, the Order's symbol. The card had a number on it.

I took my phone from the table and dialed the number while reading the document.

"It seems you have settled in Zero," a hoarse voice called out from the phone.

"Yes Sir. This mission is okay. What are these vials for tho?"

"Always the one to get down to business," he chuckled, "Take two each day, once in the morning and once in the evening. The rest is classified. Remember your oath." * Click.

'Sigh', Guess I have work now. I slumped unto the bed. Jesus, life is tough.
