The Journey to Kath Town

He was standing in the bus stand, wearing black jeans, black shoes and black overcoat. He was in black from head to toes. This definitely gave away that black was his favorite color. And not to mention, he even had a black suitcase beside him.

(peep peep)

Suddenly he heard the bus horn. The bus stopped in front of the bus stand. He then put his luggage in the luggage compartment. Then he got on the bus and made his way towards his seat.

His seat was the at the third row from the beginning, near the window.

He made himself comfortable at his seat. Leaning on the window, he started gazing outside.

This was the first time he was riding a bus. It was also his first time leaving Alauna.

For some reason, his heart was pounding.

(Is that how kids feel when they go to a school trip?)

He was questioning himself.

He hadn't gone to a school trip even once. It was because his mother, Elaina didn't allow that. She was worried that something might happen to him while he was gone and then she won't be able to reach to his aid when he was far away.

Sam understood her worries. So, he didn't go to school trips or picnics where he had to be far from his mother. But he had always wanted to go with his friends.

Although, he was traveling alone now he was quite happy to be able to feel like that.

While he was thinking those sorts of thing, the bus passed a signboard which had "Dane" written on it.

The bus had just crossed crossed his hometown. For the first time in his life, he had left his hometown and not to mention alone. He thought that if his mother was alive, she wouldn't have allowed him to go.

He smiled by himself on that thought.

The man who usually slept till noon, had woken up early today. Because he was excited. He was eager to go to Kath town. So, because his daily sleep quota wasn't fulfilled he was a bit sleepy and he started yawning.

And for some reason, he felt as if he was returning to his hometown after a long time. He felt as if he wanted to see and compare the present scenarios of that town to when he left it.

He knew it wasn't true. He had no recollection of that town. Since his very young age, he had been raised in Alauna and had gone nowhere else. But, for some reason he couldn't help but feel like that.

Not knowing what was wrong with him, he sighed.

To freshen himself up a bit, he started stretching on his seat.

He stretched the upper half of his body with both hands straight up. He slightly bent his right hand and with his right hand he grabbed the elbow of his left hand. He then started pulling his left hand, with his body bending slightly to the right.

He then switched hands. Now he was pulling his right hand by the elbow with his left hand. When he slightly bent left, he suddenly stopped.

Quickly he stopped what he was doing. Then he placed both his hands on the window pane and started gazing intently outside the window.

With his mouth wide open he said in a loud voice, "It's huge!!!"

He was looking at the lake that was in front of his eyes. It was so big that he couldn't believe his eyes.

Although it was not his first time seeing a lake, he had seen something of this size. The lake itself was about the size of his hometown. No, it might be even bigger.

And the lake was not only big.it was beautiful as well. The was clear crystal. It was reflecting the sun's rays and the hill nearby.

"It's called Lake Latina." While he was busy gazing outside, an old man suddenly spoke to him.

"It is believed that the lake was formed by the tears of the Goddess of the Sky 'Latina'. It is said that when her love died, she sat atop that hill and cried for centuries. Her tears then accumulated over time and gave birth to this lake." said the old man pointing towards the hill.

He turned around and looked at the hill, whose reflection he had just seen in the crystal clear water of the lake.

"Hmm."

While he was looking at the hill, he saw something approaching.

"What is that?"

He focused his eyes on it but still couldn't clearly make out what it was as he was blinded by the sun's ray falling directly on the approaching object.

When it approached a little closer, he muttered.

"Paper?"

"No. It's a paper plane."

He was speaking to himself. He could see a plane made from what sheet of paper was approaching towards him with a quick speed.

(Thunk)

The tip of that paper pane collided with the glass plane and it's shape distorted and the inner part of the sheet became slightly visible.

Something was written on it. Something was written in the inner part of that white sheet with beautiful blue handwriting.

For some reason, he felt a sudden urge to go and pick up that plane and read what was inside it. He quickly stood up from his seat.

But then noticed that the bus was now, way far from where the paper plane had just landed.

Since he didn't want to trouble the bus driver and other passengers for his selfish actions, he decided not to tell the driver to stop a bus and sat back on his seat.

However, he turned around and kept looking back to the place where the paper plane had landed. He wasn't sure himself why he was doing so. But for some reason he couldn't help but look back.

He then again faced front and closed his eyes.

After about five hours the bus stopped.

"The next stop is Kath Town."

When he heard the conductor say so, he opened his eyes.

He looked outside the window. There were people and buildings everywhere unlike his hometown.

He slowly got up from his seat and made way towards the door.

He just stood at the door without getting off and took a good look around the city.

"Can you please get off quickly."

"Oh. Sorry."

When he heard the irritated tone of an old lady from behind he quickly got off.

He then took out his luggage from the compartment and soon after the bus took off leaving dust behind.

He was now standing at the center of the of the city. He took a cursory glance around his surroundings.

He then inhaled and exhaled deeply.

He balled his fists and took the first step.

Although he was enjoying the scenes here and there during his journey, he knew what his primary goal was.

He had to find the truth about himself which lies here within this city.
