15. A fresh start
I was sitting in the taxi and got lost in my own thoughts. The driver asked me where I want to go and I answered I don't know. He looked so dumbfounded. And then he asked, did you run away from home, Miss? And I didn't reply but remained silent. And then he continued, you are still young, Miss. You have a bright future ahead of you, your parents wants the best for you. Go back home.
And I don't know what to say anymore. He just drove and I told him to stop. When I tried to pay him the taxi fare, he didn't take it and tell me to think carefully and not to live my life recklessly.
I still remained silent. I don't know how to tell him about my condition. And I thank him and bade our goodbyes.
Okay, so now I left home to fight for justice.
Great! Anna, great! But now what? Where should I go? What do I do? I don't have much money and I won't be able to last even for a few months with this. What should I do?
Arghh..... so much for fighting for justice. I should have made a plan before running away from home but I acted on impulse. I had to go away jobless and homeless😭.
So now, I have to search for an apartment to stay and to be specific, a cheap apartment and then a part time job. For tonight, I am just going to crash into one of the hotels then, from tommorow, I will start searching. I searched for one of the cheapest hotel as I didn't have enough money.
The hotel's name is GRANDEUR HOTEL. Okay, doesn't seem that bad. How hard can it be right? I went to check into the hotel and got my key and went straight to my room. I showered and wash up. The hotel was quite okay as compared to the price.
Now apartment hunting officially start 😂
I browse and found many apartments but all were all above what I could pay for and the cheap ones were just not liveable 😫.
I searched and searched but nothing. I called up many agents but they were all beyond my budget.Now, I know the hardships of people who are in need of rented apartments or a place to live .
Don't blame me because I have been sheltered my whole life. Now that I am here, I am appreciating all that I had before and at the same time, could feel the pain and hardships of people in poverty. Just when I was drowned in sorrow. I got a call from an agent.
Agent: Hello, Is this Anna?
Anna: Yes..... I am Anna.
Agent: So I heard you were searching for an apartment.
Anna: Yes. I was. But how do you know?
Agent: A friend of mine informed me. I am from S Housing Agency, there is a suitable house for one person, that too at a very cheap rent. The owner got transferred overseas, so he wanted to rent it out for some time, if you are interested, you can call me anytime.
Anna: Yes, Yes! I am really in need of a place to stay. When would you like to meet? Tommorow? It will be fine. Thank you so much.
Agent: A pleasure, have a nice day!
OMG!!!! I think this is God sent.🤩 An apartment with an affordable price. The only thing left to do is to find a part time job.

How hard that was? who got herself an apartment and a part-time job? Me!!! Yay!!!🤭🎉😂 And I did it all by myself. I applaud myself ( as there was no one to praise me😂) How sad!!!!😅
Now I can sleep peacefully and I can start my job tommorow. After I that I get into the bed and had a great sleep.

Anna POV:
I woke up from the loud alarm. It was so irritating. Why the heck is there an alarm in my room.
Mom! Mom! Can you please turn the alarm off, I am having a headache.
Mom! There was no answer, then I realized that I was not in my home. I ran away from home LOL. Only one night had passed but I am starting to miss home.
No, Anna. You are stronger than this, you have to follow the path you have chosen, so more going back. With that in mind, I woke up, did my morning routine, and dressed up. I am ready to conquer today.
My meal for today is only a sandwich and a coffee. I know it sounds sad but I am happy with it as I am getting these hardships to get to the right path and get justice for Nanny May's death.
Huff!!!! Now I am on my way to work for the part time job. Hope it goes well. God please help me 🙏. I am happy with being a librarian as I would have become one if I had not become a prosecutor. I just love reading and the smell of books. I went through the city in a cab to reach the library. The library was in the outskirts. It had a vintage vibe to it. I entered the library and a middle aged man was sitting in the counter. I went up to him.
Anna: Hello! My name is Anna. I am here for the part time job.
Man: Oh, Hi! Yes, I was informed that a part timer would come today. Thank you for coming as I was in need of a helper. I couldn't manage it myself. All my previous helpers stopped for one reason or another. I really really hope that we can work together for a long time.
Anna: A pleasure, where should I start? ( But why do I feel that I will be like his former helpers 😅)
Man: You can start by learning the places where the books are kept. You can go and see how they are arranged.
After some time -------
Man: Here is your staff identity card. I need to make a new one everytime since they always stopped. I hope yours last a long time😪. Now you are all set to go.
Anna: Thank you. By the way, how should I address you?
Man: My name's Greg Kosher, you can call me Greg😁.
Anna: Thanks, Greg. Let's hope for the best😁
Now I am officially a part timer now. Let's see what ahead of us.
