Chapter 13: The Voidssenger and the Kid (4)

*clash* *slash* *boom*

"Huff... Puff... Huff... HRRRAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!..." At that moment, Kyle quickly shot a Dark Arrow that pierced a coyote looking beast with horns and extra tails, before it disintegrated into dust like the other monsters. For Kyle, this was the 13th monster he had to kill, while running for his life, so he wouldn't have to die and as a result, his fatigue is rising up quickly and it's leaving him breathless. Before he had a full to rest though, a bird-like monster suddenly charged towards him, but Kyle dodged with a quick cartwheel, before took aim to shoot down the bird.

As Kyle was barely able to fend off the monsters, D on the other hand was on a complete killing spree, by swinging his blades at each monster he saw in front of him, kicking them at their weak spots, or occasionally pulling a few hidden daggers from his trenchcoat and throwing them towards the flying enemies that were completely out of his reach. It was safe to say that he was in complete ecstasy.

"Hey, who said it that I was in complete ecstasy? Get your ass here so I can make a pair of pants out of them!" D asked with a furious expression, before decapitating a humanoid monster that was twice his height.

"What... Are you... Talking about...?" Kyle asked while being breathless, before he rolled to the side and shot another Dark Arrow towards an oversized rabbit.

"Nothing kid, just focus on your fight." D then quickly cut down two more monsters, before jumping towards a winged bear and proceeding to spin around it, while slashing it as many times as possible.

"Crazy madman..." Kyle commented angrily before killing another horned coyote and running towards an emptier area to get his breath back.

"I heard that." *boom* D answered with an irked expression, before grabbing a purplish stone, squeezing it until cracks appeared and then throwing towards an incoming horde of monsters. The horde completely ignored the stone that was flying towards them and once it touched ground, near the center of the horde, the stone suddenly exploded and created a purplish smoke that quickly eroded any monster that traversed through it.

The battle continued for quite a while and as the battle kept going, Kyle's body was starting to slow down from all of the accumulated fatigue, as well as the fact that his body was lacking in stamina and it wasn't long until he could only barely stand in place, as he kept throwing Dark Arrows, with whatever little power he had in him.

"How... *huff* How long... *puff* HOW LONG!?" Kyle asked with an angry and fatigued expression, as he was feeling slightly faint, before shooting down another monster.

"Almost there kid. Any moment from now and the big bad that I'm trying to kill, is going to come out." D answered as he performed a spin slash and killed the last few enemies that were near him.

*crash*

"Urgh... I hope... That's... The last one..." Kyle spoke with a fatigued expression as he was barely holding on.

"I don't see any other weaklings. We only wait for the big one now." D answered back as he was cleaning his blades with a cloth that he had picked from the inside of his trenchcoat.

"Mind... If you can... Explain the situation... At hand?" Kyle asked, as he sat down on the ground and tried to catch his breath.

"Just a quick clean up operation. Nothing more, nothing less." D answered calmly as he put away his blades and sat next to Kyle to rest for a bit.

"I would like... A bit more context, please..."

"Fine, fine. The monsters we've been fighting right now, are known as Voidlings. Just annoying little buggers that feed and leech on Earthly and Cosmic Energy. These things also multiply faster than a certain world's Killer Bunnies and the only things these pieces of sh*t know how to do, is eating, killing and breeding." D explained with a hint anger on his voice.

"So... All of these beasts, birds, lizards or whatnots, were Voidlings?" Kyle asked with a worried expression.

"Yup, I'm telling you, these things reproduce like crazy. If you think bunnies and goblins are kings of reproduction, wait until you see these guys. These guys make goblins and bunnies look like they have the reproduction capabilities of the dragons." D answered with an annoyed expression.

"And dragons...?"

"They reproduce extremely slowly."

"So, we are talking about human-sized bacteria." Kyle commented with a desperate expression.

"Even worse than-" *boom*

The moment D was going to answer Kyle, the explosion had suddenly stopped his sentence midway, before another explosion was heard.

*boom*

"Is this the big bad you were mentioning before?" Kyle asked with a fearful expression.

"Yup." D answered before quickly getting up and adding:

"This is one of the guys I have to take down so we can clean the world of its filth. A Planetary Devourer."

"A Planetary what now?"

"A Planetary Devourer, capable of eating this world, like its nothing. And this will not be the last time fight these sons of b*tches." The moment D said that, another explosion was heard and a weird silhouette could barely be seen behind the smoke. Although it looked like it had a humanoid silhouette of sorts, it also had a big glowing spot on its head.

"Well, time to get a bit more serious." In that moment, D suddenly grabbed his hat and threw in the air and as the hat was going upwards, he also took his blindfold off and threw it onto the air as well. As those things were flying into the air, D suddenly crouched and slowly, two bulges appeared on his back and were trying pierce through the trenchcoat. At the same time, black feathery wing suddenly emerged from his back, the hat had suddenly become flat and had a metallic glint on top of it, and the blindfold had straightened itself as much as possible and had a sharpened edge on one of its ends. Very soon, the hat and the blindfold fell right on top of D's hands and had transformed into a shield and sword respectively, before opening his eyes and showing his black black and purple irises, which looked similar to a demon's eyes.

"D... Is that you?" Kyle asked with a worried and fearful expression.

"In the flesh kid." *boom* As he answered that, an explosion suddenly happened a few dozen meters away from them and created a smokescreen. From the smokescreen, a giant humanoid body, that reached the height of over twelve meters, emerged and used its giant eye to stare down with fury and contempt, before yelling loudly:

"THERE YOU ARE! NOW YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO ESCAPE THE GREAT MALOROUS' WRATH!!!"

Once the giant stopped yelling, Kyle asked as he was paralyzed with fear:

"Th-Th-Th-This w-w-w-wouldn't happen t-t-t-to be a C-C-C-Cyclops, r-r-r-right?"

"Anything from the level of Planetary Devourers and higher, usually has monsters and mythical beings that are a huge menace to society. This guy just falls into the average power level category of the Planetary Devourers." D answered with a smile on his face, before he added with a deep voice:

"Now, observe."
