"Haaa... Hooo... Haaa... Hooo..."
"Come on, no need to put such an expression. Is it really that bad that I wanted some company?" D asked as Kyle was slowly breathing in and out, while massaging his temples.
'I'm seriously thinking if I should just commit suicide at this point.' Kyle thought to himself with a livid expression as he was struggling to keep himself from losing his cool.
"How about you warn me the next you do something like that?" Kyle asked with a smiling, but livid expression on his face.
"That was the problem? Why didn't you say so earlier?" D asked with a relieved expression, unaware of the anger inside Kyle. At this point though, Kyle felt like something had snapped inside him and decided to slowly grab D, who was sitting on his shoulder.
"Uhhh... Is there something that you need?" D asked as he slowly grabbed by Kyle.
"No, I don't need anything." At that point, he also put his other hand on his head and then, he quickly twisted his hands with all of his power and changed his expression with a furious and twisted one.
...
"Uhhh... Was that supposed to be anything significant? Because I'm not feeling anything. Sure I feel my neck being twisted at an impossible angle, but I always twist my body into weird shapes and forms to deal with enemies." D answered with a slightly muffled voice, as he was feeling a bit confused. Kyle, on the other hand, didn't care at all about D's remarks and kept twisting his head, as if he was trying to open a bottle of water.
After around ten minutes of twisting D's head, Kyle then started to calm down and sighed with a tired expression, before asking:
"Just, what have I done to get myself into this mess? Have I sinned on a previous life or something?"
"No, you haven't sinned. Sometimes, the world is a bit of b*tch and has you go though a lot of trouble, for no apparent reason." D answered after he broke free from Kyle's hands and twisted his head towards the other way to fix it and put it on his original position.
"Then why? Why did I have to die like that? Why did I have to come into this world and go through that stupid trial? And why did you have to get me involved into your mess?" Kyle asked with an angry and desperate expression, as he put his head over his arm and sighed once again.
"Look kid, put this in your head, because I'm only going to say it once. What is done, is done. You can't change the past and the events that have transpired. The only thing you can do, is to accept it and move forward." D answered with a serious expression, as he tapped on Kyle's forehead.
"That's easy for you to say." Kyle commented with an annoyed expression, before adding:
"You weren't the one who died right in front of your friends and left behind two heartbroken parents."
"I know, but I won't sit still and see another person commit suicide, because of that. I have seen a lot of painful stuff throughout my travels and to be honest, some of that still haunt me to this day, but if there is one thing I've learned, is that when an acquittance of mine is in trouble, I give them a hand to help them, even if it means to meddle with the world and cause unseen and unpredictable changes." D answered back with a serious expression, as he kept tapping on Kyle's forehead.
"I appreciate the help, but I doubt that you are going to be as helpful as you might think." Kyle sighed with an annoyed expression as he gave his answer.
"Even if it isn't as helpful as I might think, I'm still going to do it. After all, I'm sick and tired of sitting on the sidelines and being unable to do jack sh*t." D explained with a serious expression, as he stood up and made a pose.
'Idiot.' Kyle thought to himself, as he looked at the posing mini-man. After that thought, he decided to get up from the bench he was sitting on and looked around him. Surprisingly, there were a lot more carriages and people around and he also noticed that some of them were leaving.
"Do you have any idea what might be going on?" Kyle asked D as he looked around.
"Can't say for sure. The information that I have from the start, might give me an idea of the world I'm dealing with, but that doesn't make it omnipotent. You're better off asking the locals for more information." D explained with a shrug, as he sitting with a thoughtful expression on Kyle's shoulder.
'That was helpful.' Kyle thought to himself sarcastically.
"I heard that." D yelled with an angry expression.
"What are you talking about?" Kyle asked with a confused expression.
"Nothing, just go and ask the locals or the guards or something." D quickly dismissed his question as he waved his hand angrily. After that quick conversation, Kyle decided to get a good look around, before asking for info, but he was feeling a bit confused, since there only fancy and shiny carriages around and no normal ones or cheap ones. With no other option, he decided to muster up his courage and ask one of the guards at the nearest carriage.
"Sir, may I ask why there so many carriages around?"
"... Move along kid. I'm rather busy." The guard then continued towards his own business, ignoring Kyle's presence.
'Well, that didn't go well.' Kyle thought to himself, before retrying the same thing a couple more times, only to be given the cold shoulder again.
"I wonder why am I being given the cold shoulder?" Kyle asked D with a depressed expression.
"Many reason actually. One, you are a stranger. Two, you are suspicious. Three, you don't any fancy looks. Four, you talk to yourself a lot. Fi-"
"Hey, I don't talk to myself." Kyle retorted with an angry expression as he interrupted D and turned his head towards him.
"You should know that I'm invisible to everyone else, except you. And before I forget, you can just use your thoughts to communicate with me. No need to yell like a madman." D answered back with a serious expression before continuing:
"Five, you look like a commoner that barely scrapes by. Finally, they are under strict orders to not slack off during work, so don't expect to talk to them, even if you somehow manage to bypass those five problems from before."
At that point, Kyle was left completely dumbfounded and he could barely make any thoughts after hearing D's remarks. He didn't even know that he could communicate with him, by only using his thoughts, so the fact that he kept yelling at him, made him feel extremely embarrassed, since he felt that he truly looked like a complete idiot.
'Please tell me that no one has seen me act like a completely delusional idiot.' Kyle asked himself mentally, while testing if D's remark was true.
"Ehhh... Probably a few guys might have noticed, but they likely have put that in the back of their minds." D answered with a casual expression.
...
'Please, just kill me already.'
