The street was dark, shadows from the tall buildings cast all over the street, its walls were dirty scratched by mutated rodents and other pests, some buildings were patched here and there covering holes made by beasts who were able to break into the city, dirt's scattered all over the street crime going on here and there, police only answered when there was a beast outbreak.

Walking along the street was Jake Daniel a 15 years old regular teenager in a red hoodie, dark in complexion with a messy black hair carrying a sunken look on his face, from what he learned, he came from Nigeria a country in Africa, but like everyone else from all over the world, he was just a prisoner trapped in this cage called hope city, the only place to be safe from the evolved beast who was once hunted by us but now hunting us. And the clops, man's nemesis they were the cause of all this and the destroyer of our old civilization with the gas they brought. But after running from the gas we got to know that it didn't just evolve the animals but also humans giving some strength others defense or speed and any other kind of ability, with this newfound power human beings found hope coming together they built up a hope city as the last line of defense against the clops.

But unlike everyone else who had come in close contact with the gas, Daniel didn't go through any transformation, no evolved strength or speed, nothing, he had nothing just a normal human. Daniel could still remember that fateful day. He was 7 years old, having lost his father and mother to a clops attack, around 7 he lived with his sister which was barely 13, not even old enough to take care of herself.

Life wasn't easy for them, with a horde of evolved beast outside their gate and the clops lurking in the shadows the council couldn't spare any of their time to look after orphans. His sister with a mind-type evolution of E rank was barely able to reach Drank not gaining the of the council to either join the guardians the protector trained to one day, defeat the clops. Around the age of seven one was to take them if your evolution was up to D rank you were believed to one day be able to reach S rank which is Titan the strongest guardian and only S rank.

"Hey pipsqueak dodge" Brad calls out, firing his spiked hair at Daniel, Daniel dodges it and runs,

"Woah that was close, curse my luck, I ran into Brad". Brad was a bully with an F rank mutation, called spike hair, he was able to shoot out needle-like hair from is scalp to hattack someone, of course, it was a trash mutation, the most it could cause was a pain in the ass, no life-threatening effect, he moved with his gang Gabriel and Prakash, Gabriel has one arm strengthening evolution and Prakash has extending limbs he could extend and stretch his limbs.

"He's fast," said Brad to himself,

"or scared," Prakash says and joins Gabriel laughing.

"Let's go " Brad interrupts them, "we got something to do" walks away.

Daniel arrives at Mr. Dennis restaurant one of the most popular and still surviving restaurant with a lot of decency, with all the beast attack happening here and there having a place where a lot of people gather was like a magnet drawing any beast which managed to break into the city for a meal attacking the people in the restaurant. Daniel goes in and calls Mr. Dennis. Mr. Dennis was an old man with a white mustache he had been running this business for 10 years, of course, he couldn't have done it so peacefully, he had 3 son's which 2 were both in the army and one, the eldest was a successful beast hunter with his own team named the one-eyed tiger, which was named after him because during his first hunt his hole team was killed and he came back with a lot of injuries and also a missing eye, this was how dangerous the outside world could be, and his daughter was married to a C rank guardian. With all these people surrounding him, no one could dare make trouble for him, Daniel even knew that he and his sis were under his protection, if not they could have been robbed or worse, in fact, it was people like him that was keeping this town safe. Daniel drops the bag on the table, Mr. Dennis opens it and tests the blender, sees that it walks he gives Daniel the money thanking him, Daniel grabs it fast and relays the message from his sis,

"huh she told me to tell you that she is a car engineer and not a kitchen tool repairer" he shoves the money into his pocket really quick and leaves as if expecting the old man to change his mind.

Getting home, Daniel opens the door only to see his sister flourish right in front of him,

" hey sis" he says, reaches into his pocket and brings out the cash, she snatches it from his hand and walks away counting it

"that old man couldn't even put some extra cash" she says grudgingly,

"at least he is your only customer" Daniel remarks, looking around he spots a complete car in her workshop, "you got a job?" He asks hoping for a positive answer,

"no I'm just patching my baby here" looks at the car with a adoring look,

"To sell" Daniel asks but is giving a glaring look by her, "just saying, there is no food at home anyway" ,

"ok" she gives him out of the money "go get some food",

"or you could get some fancy clothes", Daniel takes the money from her "then hook up a rich guy, get married and we wouldn't have to worry about food or anything" he says day dreamingly,

"do I look like a cheap girl to you" she retorts angrily

"well that what most girls does nowadays"Daniel grumbles, with the evolution of human beings, sickness or deformality of the body were now rare, because the gas doesn't just evolve one particular organ or ability of the body, part of it also spread throughout the body strengthning it, thew to to these human physical looks are now much better than before, you will hardly see anybody that can be categorised as ugly, well except the mutated ones e.g a guy with a much longer arm than most people, his hand so long that it could touch the floor when walking, or a girl with an ear as big as her face, with super hearing ability able to here a wisper mile away. But Daniel sis was quite perfect, her evolution was mind power allowing her to be able to think faster than an average human of course it was just an E rank ability, with this she was still beautiful even with her worn-out apron with patches and oil stain here and there.

Daniel walks to his room,

"Hey, when are you gonna buy the groceries" she calls to him
