"Good morning Mr. Barker." I said and he smiled back. Mr. Barker was the substitute teacher for my 1st period English class until our original teacher got back from her maternity leave.
"Ah! Raven good morning." He said as I sat in my seat.
"And good morning class! I hope you all did your homework I assigned...!" I never really paid attention when he spoke. He was so damn dreamy I spent more time imagining him....oh did he just speak to me!!!
"Raven, did you do the homework?." He smiles.
"Oh um yes." I wrestle with my notebook to find the poem I had written.
"A storm surrounds as my lover drowns
Drowns in a sea of pain
Never to return again
Memories lost
Eyes glossed
All to what cost?
Love's not real
Only pain can you feel
At the end of a jagged steel."
"Very deep, Mrs. Hart." He smiles with approval.
I blush and look away. I never had the courage to say anything else to him. He was a grown man, why would he ever waste his time on me?
But unfortunately that didn't stop me from wishing.
I zoned out for the remainder of the period and when the bell rang I was happy to get out of there.
I wasn't lucky enough to get out without him speaking to me first though.
"Raven." He stops me before I can reach the door.
"Yes sir?" I asked and watched as everyone else left the room.
"Come see me after school." He said. I nod my head and hurry off to my second period.
At two o'clock I stood outside of Mr. Barkers class room waiting for him.
"Good afternoon." He smiled and opened the door for me.
"Am I in trouble?" I asked as he closed the door. I mean why would I be in trouble? I'm a good student, always present, never late....
"No you aren't in trouble. I'd like to have a chat with you." He said as I sat in a desk.
"What I'm about to say stays between the two of us okay?" He asked.
"Of course." I said.
"Why is it that every time I look at you, I'm entranced by your beauty?" He asked.
Huh!?!?!?
All the blood rushed to my face as he rendered me speechless.
"I know you feel something towards me as well....at least I'm hoping that you do." He blushed and looked down.
"You're my teacher..."
"Technically, I'm just a substitute." He smirks.
"Yes but..."
"I want to take you out tonight, would that be okay?" He comes over to my desk. My heart racing with every step that he took...
"Y-yeah...that'll be fine." I could barely form my answer.
"I'll pick you up tonight at eight then." He smiles and we say our goodbyes.
I was freaking out on the way to my car.
"What did he want?" Jackson asked and I blushed.
"To take me on a date..."

I was a nervous wreck at seven o'clock. I didn't know what to wear or even where we were going. I stood in my robe and sighed heavily at my outfits on the bed. I didn't want to dress up too much or not dress up enough. I didn't want to come off slutty so mini skirts were out of the question.
There was a knock at my door startling me from my mental debate. I was hoping that it wasn't the landlord wanting rent that I didn't have at the moment. I had a roommate before, that would help me with the bills but she had bailed on me and left me with our expensive apartment. My savings account was beginning to run dry and I couldn't find a good enough job and ughhh life wasn't easy right now.
I went to the door but was surprised to find Mr. Barker.
"I thought you said eight?" I asked. He stood in front of me in a simple t-shirt and dark jeans. I don't know how he managed to look so sexy in just that...
"I got anxious to see you." He shrugged as I let him in.
"Since you're here you should help me get dressed." I thought about what I had just said and blushed.
"N-not what I meant." I said and face palmed myself. I shook my head and headed back to my bedroom with him chuckling behind me.
"What am I supposed to wear?" I asked and sat on the edge of my bed.
"We're only going to my house for dinner and a movie." He said.
"Do I get to help you cook?" I smiled.
"I actually don't know how to cook. I was going to order us some Chinese." He said and I laughed.
"That sounds amazing." I said and grabbed all of my clothes off the bed and went into my bathroom to change.
"Indeed." He said from my bedroom. I realized in my fit of anxiety, I had forgotten to grab my under garments. I searched for my robe but with my luck I couldn't find it in the pile of clothes. I peaked out of the bathroom to see Mr. Barker sitting on my bed. He saw me and raised an eyebrow.
"Do me a favor?" I asked shyly.
"Hmm?" He asked and looked at me amused.
"Cover your eyes for a minute." I said and he chuckled.
"Okay?" He closed his eyes and covered them with a pillow. I quickly went out, grabbed what I needed, and hurried back into the bathroom.
"Can I look now?" He yelled and I told him yes. When I finished dressing, I headed back out to him and smiled.
"You look nice." He says to me . I thanked him and went to the my mirror to fix my hair.
When I turned back around he stood with a smile "Shall we go?"
I nodded in response.
He took my hand and led me outside to his car. He got in the drivers side and turned to me, suddenly placing a small kiss on my cheek.
"W-what was that for?" I blushed.
"You're cute when you're blushing." He said and drove off. I just rolled my eyes and sat quietly beside him as we rode.
"Nervous?" He asked me and I looked at him.
"I've never been out on a date before, Mr. Barker." I replied.
"Really?" He asked and I nodded.
"Well I'm glad to be your first." He smiled and held my hand.
"And stop calling me Mr. Barker we aren't in class, sweetheart." He chuckled.
"I don't know your first name." I blushed. It never occurred to me that I would one day get to use it.
"My name is Oliver." He smiled.
