Part-Time Opportunity (2)

So-Yeon didn't expect the part-timer to dance. And Ae-Rin didn't expect the song to take so much out of her.

She hasn't been practicing, it's obvious. Her thighs feel heavy, and it doesn't just feel refreshing to stretch out her limbs---it exhausted her control. The choreography was all improvise, but she wanted it good, even if it feels like it takes so much out of her.

[Your pheromones are leaking.]

And at that, she tenses.

The other following movements become tense, but she somehow ends it with a flourish, panting and sweating lightly. But the smile on her face was sweet, full of cheer.

Her dance was more rogue-ish, but they were practiced movements. Ae-Rin had the talent to sway a crowd, from her appearance and demeanor and she holds this with pride as the crowd gives an applause, some even got attracted to the delights shop, and Ae-Rin hands out the flyers.

'Did I succeed?' She asks the system.

The system goes quiet.

[Perhaps...?]

Not a minute after the system said it, a man comes forward. He was young, and there was a light in his eyes. He wore a two-piece suit, and had long legs---but that must simply be her illusion. He had small shoulders oddly makiny him seem frail despite his tall height. But he had a small face, and his features made him seem lile a mischiveous pixie. He had charming gold eyes, seeming to match her apricot ones with dark hair with blue undertones. He smiles and he has dimples on both sides of his cheeks.

"Nice to meet you, I'm a scout from Wonder Entertainment." His eyes were somehow sharp rather than soft as he hands over his business card and upon contact, his information quickly appeared into her light assistant and into a hologram in front of her.

It lists his name and other details.

Name: Kim Hyun-Woo

Gender: Male Beta

Occupation: Idol and temporary scout for Wonder Entertainment's Auditions for the Variety show

Height: 6'3

Weight...

Her eyes doesn't show surprise or shock that he expects only with a pleasant smile. As if all she cares about is his scout occupation than the fact he is an idol. It suprises him as he answers her questions regarding the audition.

"How long is the Variety show?"

"Six days," He emphasizes it with making the number with his hands. Before she can open her mouth, he continues. "The lodging and food are all paid for. Eight slots, with two guests. Six for the trainees in Wonder Entertainment and two for those who pass the auditions."

Ahh.

Her eyes sparkles.

"When is the audition?"

He chuckles, "Aren't you going to ask for the personalized invitation first?" His deep eyes remain calculating at this, and there was a mischiveous grin on his lips. Something tells her that if she answer wrong, she could very well never get the invitation.

"Should I?" She chooses to act clueless. One of the talents Ae-Rin has is the fact that she can act very well. Her mother was the Film Empress and handed down her talents to her. Ae-Rin's face will never show what she doesn't want to show if she controls it. But she can slip up at times, especially as she hasn't been practicing lately as she should...

Ever since the incident...

The memories plague her quick and sharp likes arrows that she has to take a deep breath to calm herself. When she opens them again, she is faced with a curious expression from the male.

"If I ask for the personalized invitation, you would call me a scheming brat." She adds after a moment.

"And what are the advantages if you don't ask for it?" He prods.

"Nothing." She shrugs. "I rather get info about the auditions than an invite anyway."

"Oh?" Curiosity flicks in and out of his eyes. Ae-Rin notes that he is very---open.

She purses her lips at this. It can be an act or it could be that this idol is just too much like an open book. It could be a charm and a persona after all.

"I'm assured I can pass the auditions anyway," She shrugs.

"The invitation can quickly get you to the second part of the auditions," He says. "You can skip the long line and the examination."

"You'll give it to me if you want to." She finishes, her brows furrowing to a frown. She doesn't understand what he wants. Why he seems to gouge her for a certain expression. One that she doesn't know how to give when she doesn't even know what it's supposed to be. "But you want something from me, don't you?"

"I do." He quickly answers. "I want to see your willingness. Your ability to move a crowd is indeed flashy. But is that all?"

She purses her lips.

To give up all her cards... That's what he wants. The scout in front of her is like a man starved of information. Bored. He wants something to pique his interests. Understanding dawns to her. He wants to know all her secrets under the guise of seeing her capability.

But no one knows if anyone is foe and friend. Either way, if opportunity is a snake at the end, she'd rather not have it.

"Are you really a scout?" She scrunches her nose. "You're suspicious."

His eyes reveal shock and his lips curl pleasantly before he laughs. It was nice and quaint, true and airy before he faces her with a grin.

"Yes I am, dear. Is it so bad to know more about a cute little thing that piqued my interest?" He replies, playfully. But faced with her deadpan face he can only cough to a fist. "Well, fine. I wanted to see what else you can surprise me with... That, and... Your song, it doesn't suit you. It makes me wonder why you chose it."

Before she can reply, she hears her name being called from behind.

"Part-timer! Your performance made my shop filled with customers I need you to---Hyun-Woo oppa!" Ae-Rin turns around to see her manager wide-eyed and staring at the idol with stars in her eyes. Their heights both domineering to Ae-Rin's 5'1.

Ae-Rin sniffs at her small height.

The scout-idol turns to her manager with a kind smile.

"Hello, noona." At that, her manager absolutely squeals and blushes.

Ae-Rin scrunches up her nose and makes to leave into the shop before the scout-idol quickly comes to catch her wrist.

"Since you interest me..." His eyes shine and he takes out a simple invitation from his suit and hands it over to her. "Thank you for the interesting show, little girl. Tell me next time why you chose a song unbefitting of your aura!" Before Ae-Rin could reply, he turns back to her manager.

The system finally speaks.

[Well, wasn't that an interesting turn of events.]

And the system says this in such a drawl. Ae-Rin knows she could've likely gotten an invitation from whatever the system plans but---she wants to prove her worth.

She turns to the envelope in her hands.

Just like how the system wanted her to certify that she does need it---she wants someone to say that she is worth the Auditions.

That she had possibility.
