Turn Left

Market place…

Pagodas and flying cars above small wind turbines. Down in the streets, lots of banners with Chinese symbols on them. The Doctor hands Donna and Jared mugs of foaming drink.

"Oh, ho, ho." The Doctor said.

"I'd rather have a water." Donna said.

"And I want some milk tea." Jared said, looking at the Doctor. "I feel bad about leaving Team RNJR behind."

"It's okay, they can handle themselves. The both of you are going to love it. One, two, three!" The Doctor said, and the three gave a huge gulp of the drink.

"Lovely!" Donna said.

"It's amazing!" Jared said, and the three carry on through the market. "Oh, can I get something for the Holy Quintet here? And maybe Team RWBY?"

"You want to buy shukina? Or peshmoni? Most beautiful peshmoni in all of Shan Shen?" A saleswoman asked.

"Er, no thanks." Donna said.

"What do you mean 30 thousand credits? For a couple dozen charm bracelets?" Jared asked, looking at the set. "They have the color schemes and designs I need for my friends!"

The Doctor and Jared are haggling with another stallholder so Donna explores on her own.

A young woman in a black and gold robe calls to her, "Tell your fortune, lady. The future predicted. Your life foretold."

"Oh, no thanks." Donna said.

"Don't you want to know if you're going to be happy?" The fortune teller asked.

"I'm happy right now, thanks."

"You got red hair. The reading's free for red hair."

"All right, then."

Fortune teller's tent...

The young woman looks at Donna's palms, "Oh, you fascinating. No, but you good. I can see some men. The most remarkable men. How did you meet them?"

"You're supposed to tell me." Donna said.

"I see the future. Tell me the past. When did your lives cross?" The fortune teller asked.

"It's sort of complicated. I ended up in a spaceship on my wedding day. Long story."

"But what led you to that meeting?"

"All sorts of things. But my job, I suppose. It was on Earth, this planet called Earth, miles away. But I had this job as a temp. I was a secretary at a place called HC Clements." Donna said, having an intense flashback. It makes her sway. "Oh. Sorry."

"It's the incense. Just breathe deep. This job of yours. What choices led you there?" The fortune teller asked.

"There was a choice, six months before, because the Agency offered me this contract with HC Clements…" Donna said.

Car…

"But there was this other job. My mum knew this man…" Donna said, recalling what happened.

"Jival, he's called. Jival Chowdry? He runs that little photocopy business and he needs a secretary." Sylvia said, entering the car with Donna.

"I've got a job." Donna said.

"As a temp. This is permanent, it's twenty thousand a year, Donna."

"HC Clements is in the City. It's nice, it's posh, so stop it."

Fortune teller's tent…

"Your life could have gone one way or the other. What made you decide?" The fortune teller asked.

"I just did." Donna said, and something small sneaking up behind her.

"But when was the moment? When did you choose?"

Car...

Donna is at a junction, waiting to turn onto the main road.

"It won't take long. Just turn right. We'll pop in and see Mister Chowdry, so Suzette can introduce you." Sylvia said.

"I'm going left. If you don't like it, get out and walk." Donna said.

"If you turn right, you'll have a career, not just filling in."

"You think I'm so useless."

"Oh, I know why you want a job at HC Clements, lady. Because you think you'll meet a man with lots of money and your whole life will change. Well let me tell you, sweetheart. City executives don't need temps, except for practice."

"Yeah. Well, they haven't met me." Donna said, making her car turn left.

Fortune teller's tent…

"You turned left. But what if you turned right? What then?" The fortune teller asked, holding Donna's hands.

"Let go of my hands." Donna said.

"What if it changes? What if you go right? What if you could still go right?"

"Stop it." Donna said, and something jumps onto her back. "What's that? What's on my back? What is it? What, what's on my back?"

"Make the choice again, Donna Noble, and change your mind. Turn right." The fortune teller said, while a hooked claw reaches to Donna's shoulder.

"I'm turning."

"Turn right. Turn right. Turn right!"

Car…

"Well, let me tell you, sweetheart. City executives don't need temps, except for practice." Sylvia said.

"Yeah. Suppose you're right." Donna said.

"Turn right, and never meet those men. Turn right, and change the world." The fortune teller said, and Donna turns right.

Market place…

Jared took out his phone and he called up Nagisa Momoe, having that magical girl in speed dial, "Nagisa."

"Yes." Nagisa said, her voice coming out of the phone. "Is something wrong?"

"Yeah. I felt a timeline change. A massive one."

"What kind? Is it something to do with us?"

"Technically, yes. It involves Donna Temple Noble." Jared said. "I want you and Sayaka to…"

"Um Jared, Donna has met Sayaka."

"True. Who do you think you should bring?"

"Oh. How about Yuma?"

"Yuma? Yuma Chitose?"

"Yes. She's around my age. She likes Kyoko Sakura. And Mami and I are on good terms now." Nagisa said, her voice over the phone.

"So, you know what's at stake here."

"Yes. I do. So, Yuma and I go through the quantum realm in your house, right?"

"Yes. There are some different points in time that are noteworthy in our world. The Racnoss, Royal Hope Hospital, the Titanic, the Adipose, the Sontarans, and that's pretty much it."

"That's Christmas 2007 up to now."

"Yeah." Jared said, paying the stall holder the amount of money needed. "I know that Kanade and Serena are coming back. I just don't know when."

"Okay." Nagisa said, her voice over the phone.

"Oh yeah. In this version of events, Madoka didn't have to make that wish. And she didn't become the Law of Cycles."

"I'm doing this." Nagisa said, her voice over the phone. "Only because I have to. And I want to see what cheese is like in London."

"Good luck, Bebe. Or was it Charlotte?"

"Those are my witch forms." Nagisa said, ending the call.

Outside the pub...

"What the hell is that?" Mooky asked.

"Ken Livingstone, that's what! Spending our money on decorations! I mean, how much did that cost?" Veena asked, when the Racnoss web ship is sailing across the sky.

"Don't be so stupid. It's flying! It's really flying!"

The people run around the corner to watch it.

"That's not a star. That's a web. It's heading east. Middle of the City." Donna said, while energy lances from the web star and everyone starts screaming and running, except her and Alice. "Alice! There's a great big web star thing shooting at people, and you're looking at me?"

"There is something on your back." Alice said, running away.

Donna walks forward.

"Donna? Donna, where are you going? You'll get yourself killed! Donna!" Veena said, angrily.

Canary Wharf...

"Fire!" A soldier said, and tanks shoot at the web star. Donna arrives at a barricade. "Everyone, stay back. The Thames has been closed. Return to your homes. Keep away from the river, and that's an order."

Donna quietly sneaks around the back to the Army trucks.

"Trap One to Greyhound Fifteen. What is your report? Over." An officer said, over the walkie talkie.

"From the evidence, I'd say they managed to stop the creature. Some sort of red spider. Blew up the base underneath the barrier, flooded the whole thing. Over." Harris said.

"And where are they now? Over."

"We found bodies, sir. Over."

Ambulance personnel bring four bodies on stretchers.

"Is it them? Over."

"I think so. They just didn't make it out in time." Harris said, as the stretchers are lifted into the ambulances, an arm drops from under the blanket from one of the stretchers and drops a sonic screwdriver to the ground. "The Doctor and Jared are dead. Must have happened too fast for the Time Lord to regenerate. And Jared's friends are dead, two of them aren't on record yet. The IDs say Kazuto Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki, they came from the year 2025. Escort the ambulances back to UNIT base."

Donna walks on. A blonde woman, a girl with green hair, and a girl with white hair runs towards her.

"What happened? What did they find?" Yuma asked.

"I'm sorry, did they find someone?" Nagisa asked.

"I don't know. Blokes called the Doctor and Jared, or something." Donna said.

"Well, where are they?" Rose asked.

"They took them away. They're dead. I'm sorry, did you know them? I mean, they didn't say the Doctor's name. Could be any doctor." Donna said.

"I came so far." Rose said, sadly.

"It, it could be anyone."

"Um, what is your name?" Nagisa asked.

"Donna. And you?"

"Oh, we were just passing by. We shouldn't even be here. This is wrong. It's wrong. This is so wrong. Sorry, what was it? Donna what?" Rose asked, looking at what is behind Donna's back.

"Why do you keep looking at my back?"

"I'm not."

"Yes, you are. You keep looking behind me. You're doing it now. What is it? What's there? Did someone put something on my back?" Donna asked, and she tries to look at her own back, and Rose, Nagisa, and Yuma disappears.

General office...

"You can't sack me. I'm your personal assistant!" Donna said, angrily.

"You don't have to make a scene. Just come downstairs and we can have a little talk." Chowdry said.

"Oh, I'll make a scene, all right, right in front of a tribunal. And the first thing I'm going to say is wandering hands!"

"Now, come on, Donna. You know what it's been like for the past few months, ever since that Christmas thing. Half my contracts were on the other side of the river and the Thames is still closed off. Look, I can't deliver. I'm losing a fortune."

"Well, sack one of this lot. Sack Cliff. He just sits there. Don't know what he does all day. Sorry, Cliff. Actually, I'm not sorry. What do you do all day?" Donna asked, and the building shakes, along with an explosion.

"What the hell? Like an earthquake." Chowdry said, when a black cloud is gathering in the sky. "That's weird. Funny sort of clouds."

"Who typed this? I'm your PA. Did you get somebody else to type this? Beatrice?"

"It sounds impossible, but the entire hospital has vanished. The Royal Hope no longer exists. It's not been destroyed, there's no wreckage. It's simply gone. Reports from bystanders say that the rain lifted up around the hospital…" Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

Donna is clearing her desk, "Hole punch. Having that. Stapler, mine. Toy cactus. You can have that, Beatrice. Catch. Cliff, I'd leave you the mouse mat, but I'm worried you'd cut yourself."

"All right, Donna, have some respect. There's two thousand people in that hospital, and it's vanished." Chowdry said.

"Oh, I'll show you vanishing. Thanks for nothing. Oh, and you know when that money went missing from the kitty? Anne-Marie, that's all I'm saying. Anne-Marie!" Donna said, while there's an explosion with some rattling nearby. "Don't tell me, the hospital's back. Well, isn't that wizard."

Nobles' home…

"To confirm, the Royal Hope hospital was returned to it's original position, but with only one survivor. The only person left alive is medical student Oliver Morgenstern." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

"And there were these creatures, like rhinos. Talking rhinos, in, in, in black leather." Morgenstern said, on TV.

"Rhinos?" Donna asked.

"Rhinos could be aliens." Wilf said.

"Shush."

"There were hundreds of them. We couldn't breathe. We were running out of air. A colleague of mine gave me the last oxygen tank. Martha. Martha Jones. And she died." Morgenstern said, on TV.

"At least you got a hole punch and a raffle ticket." Sylvia said, going through the box.

"Yeah, well, they can keep the raffle. I won't take a penny off that man." Donna said, annoyed.

"Honestly, you two. There's aliens on the news. They took that hospital all the way to the moon, and you're banging on about raffle tickets." Wilf said, angrily.

"Don't be daft, Gramps. It wasn't the moon. It couldn't be."

"Yes, well, I am telling you it is getting worse, these past few years. It's like, all of a sudden, they suddenly know all about us, and there's keen eyes up there and they're watching us, and they're not friendly. Like those Noise things that's been showing up all over Japan and killing people." Wilf said.

"This stapler says Bea." Sylvia said.

"I can't believe how well you're taking it, me getting sacked. Thought you'd hit the roof." Donna said.

"I'm just tired, Donna, what with your father and everything. To be honest, I've given up on you."

"This further report just in from Oliver Morgenstern." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

"There were these women who took control. Said they knew what to do, said they could stop the MRI or something. Sarah Jane and Mami, their names were. Sarah Jane Smith and Mami Tomoe." Morgenstern said, on TV.

"Sarah Jane Smith was a freelance investigative journalist, formerly of Metropolitan Magazine." Someone on News 24 said, on TV. "And Mami Tomoe was a student from Mitakihara City, Japan. Both of their bodies were recovered from the hospital late this afternoon. Miss Smith had a son called Luke, and Mami had a best friend called Kyoko Sakura, but early reports that Luke and Kyoko…"

"What's for tea?" Donna asked.

"I've got nothing in." Sylvia said.

"I'll get chips. Last of my wages. Fish and chips, yeah?"

"Also had been inside the Royal Hope, along with their teenage friends Maria Jackson, Clyde Langer, Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, and Sayaka Miki. It is feared that they also perished." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

Street…

Night. Donna is walking slowly when there is a blinding flash in a nearby jennel and Rose runs out with Nagisa and Yuma wearing quantum realm suits, that quickly disappeared.

"Blimey! Are you all right? What was that, fireworks or…" Donna said.

"I don't know." Nagisa said, smiling.

"The three of us were walking together."

"What you said was weird." Rose said.

"You're the ones. Christmas Eve. I met you lot in town." Donna said.

"Wasn't your name Donna?" Yuma asked. "As in Lady?"

"What were your names?"

"How are you doing?" Nagisa asked.

"You're looking good. How's things, what have you been up to?" Rose asked, looking at the Time Beetle.

"You're doing it again." Donna said, and Nagisa and Yuma are also looking at it.

"What?" Rose asked.

"Looking behind me. People keep on doing that, looking at my back."

"What kind of people?" Nagisa asked.

"People in the street. Strangers. I just catch them sometimes, staring at me. Like they're looking at something. And then I get home, and I look, and there's nothing there. See? Look, now I'm doing it!" Donna said, touching her back.

"Oh, Christmas! What are you doing for it?" Yuma asked, excitedly. "Are you gonna get something special?"

"What am I what?"

"Do you have any plans? For next Christmas. Like spending time with your family."

"I don't know. That's ages away. Nothing much, I suppose. Why?"

"Just, we think you should get out, you and your family. Don't stay in London. Just leave the city." Rose said.

"What for?" Donna asked.

"Go to a nice hotel. And spend Christmas break there." Nagisa said, smiling.

"Can't afford it."

"Wait, you got that raffle ticket. Don't you?"

"How do you know about that?" Donna asked, looking at Nagisa.

"First prize, luxury weekend break. Use it, Donna Noble." Rose said.

"Why won't you lot tell me your names? I think the three of you should leave me alone." Donna said, walking away from the three girls.

There are flashes of light behind her.

Firbourne House Hotel…

Noddy is screaming out his song as they drive up to the converted country house.

"Cor blimey, that's what I call posh. I said you were lucky, didn't I? I always said, my lucky star." Wilf said, as he is wearing antlers on his head.

Two men come up to help them unload the car.

"Look, for God's sake don't tell them we won it in a raffle. Be classy. Dad, take those things off." Sylvia said, annoyed.

"No, I shan't. It's Christmas. Oi, I'll have that one, thank you. It's got my liniment in it." Wilf said.

"I reckon we deserve this. It's been a hell of a year." Donna said.

"Your dad would have loved this." Sylvia said.

"Yeah. He would have."

Hotel room…

There is a knock on the door.

"Oi, Gramps, get that. That'll be breakfast. We've got croissants." Donna said.

Poor old Wilf had to sleep on the sofa. Sylvia is still in bed, eating chocolates.

"Why can't you get it, Lady Muck?" Wilf asked.

"It's Christmas Day, I never get up before ten. Only madam there was up with the dawn chorus, like when she was six years old." Sylvia said.

"I'm not wasting a second in this place. How was the sofa?" Donna asked.

"Oh, yeah. Oh, not so good, really. Oh gawd. You know, we could have paid for a second room. Oi! Merry Christmas." Wilf said.

"Merry Christmas." Donna said.

"Merry Christmas, Dad." Sylvia said, and there is a knock at the door.

"Yeah, all right. Come on in, my darling. Grub's up. Merry Christmas!" Wilf said, opening the door.

"Merry Christmas, sir!" A maid said.

"We have interrupted your programme to bring you breaking news." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

"Have you seen this?" Sylvia asked.

"We will now return to the BBC news studio."

"Because I thought, nice early breakfast and then we'll go for a walk. People always say that at Christmas. Oh, we all went for a walk. I've always wanted to do that. So, walk first, presents later, yeah?" Donna asked.

"Donna, come and see." Sylvia said.

"Tienes algo en tu espalda." The Spanish maid said.

"Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal.

Emustolronzen fine el balal zillz.

Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal.

Emustolronzen fine el zillz." The Symphogear wielders said, on TV.

"What?" Donna asked.

"Donna, look at the telly." Sylvia said.

"Tienes algo en tu espalda." The Spanish maid said.

"Replica of the RMS Titanic." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

"What does that mean? I don't know what you're saying." Donna said.

"Donna, look at the TV!" Sylvia said, worried.

"Tienes algo en tu espalda!" The Spanish maid said, terrified, and the claws are visible by Donna's shoulders, but the bathroom mirror reveals nothing.

The maid flees.

"For God's sake, Donna. Don't just stand there, come and look." Sylvia said.

"Not sure how this is possible, but this footage is live and genuine. The object is falling on Central London. And six girls are heading towards the object. I've been given word that these six girls are known as Symphogear, originally coming from Japan. I repeat, this is not a hoax. A replica of the Titanic is falling out of the sky, and it's heading for Buckingham Palace. It looks like the six girls weren't able to change it's route by song. We're getting this footage from the Guinevere range of satellites." Someone on News 24 said, on TV.

"Is that a film or something?" Donna asked.

"The Royal Air Force has declared an emerg…"

The Titanic crashes into the Symphogear wielders and Buckingham Palace as the picture is lost. A shockwave rattles the hotel.

"It's gone dead. All of them." Sylvia said, flicking through the channels.

"No, but, the Titanic? Well, don't be daft. Is that like a sequel?" Donna asked.

Wilf looks out of the window, "Oh. Oh, God rest their souls."

Firbourne House Hotel...

The guests and staff go outside and look down the valley, to the viaduct and beyond, to where a mushroom cloud is rising.

"I was supposed to be out there selling papers. I should have been there. We all should. We'd be dead." Wilf said.

"That's everyone. Every single person we know. The whole city." Sylvia said.

"Can't be." Donna said.

"But it is. It's gone. London's gone." Sylvia said.

"If you hadn't won that raffle." Wilf said.

Donna turns to see the maid pointing an accusing finger at her.

Market place…

"Nagisa." Jared said, pacing back and forth, with the Augma on his head. "How's it going?"

"Mami, Madoka, Sayaka, and Kyoko." Nagisa said, her voice coming out of the augmented reality headset. "They're…"

"They're dead." Yuma said, her voice coming out of the Augma. "Kyoko is dead too!"

"What?" Jared asked. "How are they dead there?"

"You know the Royal Hope Hospital." Nagisa said, her voice coming out of the Augma.

"Yeah. What about it?

"All five of them went. From what I believe in the news report."

"Shit."

"Symphogear is also dead. They died to the Space Titanic."

"The Superb Song didn't work?"

"I don't think so." Nagisa said, sadly.

"You died with Kirito and Asuna." Yuma said, her voice coming out the Augma. "The Doctor too."

"Sarah Jane died with Mami." Jared said, frowning. "How bad is that world?"

"Really bad. Really, really, bad."

"I don't like it. If more magical girls get involved. Like Yachiyo…"

"Then there's no one left."

"Yeah." Jared said, placing the call on hold. "Keep me updated girls."

Kitchen…

The galley kitchen has camp beds on the floor, and a curtain for a door.

"What do you mean, this is us?" Sylvia asked.

"You live here." Rocco said.

"We're living in the kitchen?" Donna asked.

"You got camp beds. You got the cooker, you keep warm. You got the fridge, you keep cool. Is good, eh?" Rocco asked.

"What about the bathroom?" Sylvia asked.

"Nobody lives in the bathroom." Rocco said.

"No, I mean, is there a rota?"

"Is pot-luck! Is fun. I go wake Mamma. She likes new people. Mamma! Is people! Nice people!" Rocco said, leaving the room.

"Ah, well. We'll settle in, won't we? Make do? Bit of wartime spirit, eh?" Wilf asked.

"Yeah, but there isn't a war. There's no fight. It's just this." Donna said.

"Well, America, they'll save us. It was on the news. They're going to send Great Britain fifty billion quid in financial aid. God bless America." Wilf said, happily.

Later, at mealtime.

"America is in crisis, with over sixty million reported dead. Sixty million people have dissolved into fat. A lot of girls from Kamihama City, Japan, had tried to prevent it but failed, being led by Yachiyo Nanami. Over 50 of those girls died when something came out of them. And the fat is walking. People's fat has come to life and is walking through the streets. And there are spaceships. There are reports of spaceships over every major US city. The fat is flying. It's leaving…" Trinity Wells said, on TV.

"Aliens." Wilf said.

"Yeah." Donna said, sadly.

"...the fat creatures are being raised into the air…" Trinity Wells said, on TV.

Bedtime, lit by tea-lights. Sylvia and Donna's beds are head to head.

"Mary McGinty. Do you remember her?" Sylvia asked.

"Who was she?" Donna asked.

"Worked in the newsagent on Sunday. Little woman. Black hair." Sylvia said.

"Never really spoke to her." Donna said.

"She'll be dead. Every day I think of someone else. All dead."

"Maybe she went away for Christmas."

"Maybe."

"I'll go out tomorrow. I'll walk into town. There's got to be work. Everyone needs secretaries. Soon as I'm earning, we'll get a proper place. Just you wait, Mum."

"What if it never gets better?" Sylvia asked.

"Course it will." Donna said.

"Even the bees are disappearing. You don't see bumble bees anymore."

"They'll sort us out. The emergency government. They'll do something."

"What if they don't?"

"Then we'll complain."

"Who's going to listen to us? Refugees. We haven't even got a vote. We're just no one, Donna. We don't exist." Sylvia said, and there is singing in the front room.

"And I spent all my money on whiskey and beer." Rocco said, nearby.

"I am going to kill that man!" Donna said, angrily.

Front room…

"Now listen, Mussolini! I am telling you for the last time to button it! If I hear one more sea shanty…" Donna said, and Rocco steps to the side, to reveal her grandfather.

"I always loved a sing song." Wilf said.

The big happy family then began to sing together, Donna and Sylvia included.

"I'm just a poor boy. Nobody loves me. He's just a poor boy from a poor family. Spare him his life from this monstrosity. Easy come, easy go, will you let me go? Bismillah, no…" Everyone said, singing together.

Gunfire outside.

"No, you stay here. Everyone, stay." Rocco said.

Leeds Street…

A soldier is trying to kill his jeep, which is pumping out thick exhaust gas.

"Hey! Firing at the car is not so good. You, you crazy or what?" Rocco asked.

"It's this ATMOS thing, it won't stop. It's like gas. It's toxic." A soldier said.

"Well, switch it off." Wilf said.

"I have done. It's still going. It's all the cars. Every single ATMOS car, they've gone mad. You, lady. Turn round! Turn around now!" The soldier said, aiming his weapon at Donna.

"Are you crazy, boy?" Rocco asked.

"Put the gun down!" Wilf said.

"I said, turn round! Show me your back!" The soldier said.

"Do what he says!" Sylvia said.

"Show me your back!"

"Turn around!"

"Turn around, now! Show me your back!" The soldier said, while Donna raises her arms and turns around slowly. "Sorry. I thought I saw."

"Call yourself a soldier? Pointing guns at innocent women? You're a disgrace. In my day, we'd have had you court martialled!" Wilf said.

Donna sees three bright flashes of light at the bottom of the street, and walks towards it.

"Donna? Where are you going? It's not safe at night. Donna! Donna!" Sylvia said.

Street…

Around the corner.

"Hello." Donna said.

"Hi." Rose said.

"Hi." Yuma said.

"Hey." Nagisa said. "We need to talk."

Park...

"It's the ATMOS devices. We're lucky, it's not so bad here. Britain hasn't got that much petrol. But all over Europe, China, South Africa, they're getting choked by gas." Rose said.

"Can't anyone stop it?" Donna asked.

"Yeah, they're trying right now, this little band of fighters, on board the Sontaran ship. Any second now." Rose said.

"I'm sorry, you're not gonna like this, Donna." Nagisa said, when the sky burns.

"And that was?" Donna asked.

"That was Torchwood." Yuma said, sadly. "And the two teams Jared…oh, he was close to them. To Teams RWBY and JNPR."

"Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones, Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos, and Lie Ren, they gave their lives. And Captain Jack Harkness, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long has transported to the Sontaran home world." Rose said.

"There's no one left." Nagisa said, frowning.

"You're always wearing the same clothes. Why won't you tell me your names?" Donna asked.

"None of this was meant to happen."

"There were men. These wonderful men, and they stopped it. The Titanic, the Adipose, the ATMOS, they stopped them all from happening." Rose said.

"That Doctor and Jared?" Donna asked.

"You knew them." Yuma said, excitedly. "Like how I know Kyoko! Kyoko!"

"Did I? When?"

"I think you dream about them sometimes. The Doctor's a man in a suit. Tall, thin man. Great hair. Some really great hair." Rose said.

"And Jared is a man in a hoodie and jeans. He's also a tall, thin man. He loves eating and drinking." Nagisa said, sadly.

"Who are you?" Donna asked. "The three of you?"

"I was like you. I used to be you. And these two are still you." Rose said, looking back at Yuma and Nagisa.

"You've travelled with them, Donna. You've travelled with the Doctor and Jared in a different world." Nagisa said.

"I never met them, and they're dead." Donna said.

"They died underneath the Thames on Christmas Eve, but you were meant to be there. The Doctor needed someone to stop him, and Jared needed someone to help Kirito and Asuna, and that was you. You made them leave. You saved their lives." Rose said.

(Jared's POV)

Drilling site...

"I warned you. You did this." The Doctor said, taking some Christmas tree decorations from another pocket.

"Putting so many lives at risk." Kirito said, having the same mindset as the Doctor. "How unforgivable."

"No! No! Don't! No!" The Empress said, as the Doctor and Kirito threw the baubles into the air.

"You deserve this, Empress of the Racnoss." Kirito said, and the Doctor uses the remote to direct the baubles.

The Doctor uses some to blow holes in the corridor wall to let the Thames in, whilst the rest surround the Empress.

"Oh my god..." Asuna said, as fires break out, and manhole covers burst under the pressure. "This isn't my Kirito."

"He's doing this out of guilt and rage." I said, running down the steps to Asuna. "That's what. Both of them are."

"We have to stop them." Asuna said, when water comes flooding into the lair and down the hole.

"But how?" Donna asked, as alien screams come upwards.

"No! No! My children! No! My children! My children!" The Empress said.

"Doctor! You can stop now!" Donna said, looking up at the Doctor.

"Kirito!" Asuna said, looking up at her boyfriend/husband. "This isn't you! Stop it! Please."

"Come on. Time I got you lot out." The Doctor said, looking at Kirito, Asuna, Donna, and I.

"Sorry about that." Kirito said, as the Doctor, Donna, Kirito, Asuna, and I head up the stairs soaked to the skin. "I wasn't thinking straight."

(Open POV)

Park…

"Stop it. I don't know what you're talking about. Leave me alone!" Donna said.

"Something's coming, Donna. Something worse." Nagisa said, looking at Donna.

"The whole world is stinking. How can anything be worse than this?"

"Trust us. We need the Doctor and Jared more than ever. I've, I've been pulled across from a different universe, and Jared told these two here to come from their universe, because every single universe is in danger. It's coming, Donna. It's coming from across the stars and nothing can stop it." Rose said.

"And it's worse than the Walpurgisnacht." Nagisa said.

"What is?" Donna asked.

"The darkness."

"Well, what do you lot keep telling me for? What am I supposed to do? I'm nothing special. I mean, I'm, I'm not. I'm nothing special. I'm a temp. I'm not even that. I'm nothing." Donna said.

"Donna Noble, you're the most important woman in the whole of creation." Nagisa said.

"Oh, don't. Just don't. I'm tired. I'm so tired."

"We need you to come with us." Rose said.

"Yeah. Well, blonde hair might work on the men, and you two are cute little girls, but none of you ain't shifting me." Donna said.

"That's more like it."

"I've got plenty more."

"Then you'll come with us, only when you want to."

"You'll have a long wait, then."

"Not really." Yuma said, smiling. "Three weeks."

"Okay, does your grandfather still have that telescope?" Nagisa asked.

"He never lets go of it." Donna said.

"Three weeks time. But you've got to be certain. Because when you come with us, Donna, sorry, so sorry, but you're going to die." Rose said, as she, Yuma, and Nagisa fade away.

Market place…

"Are you two in the endgame now?" Jared asked, pacing back and forth.

"Yes. We are." Nagisa said, her voice coming out of the Augma. "Your huntresses and huntsmen are dead."

"No, not Teams RWBY and JNPR." Jared said, letting out some tears. "Who did they die with?"

"Team JNPR were on the Sontaran Ship. And Team RWBY went off with Jack."

"Why? Why did it come to that?"

"They were looking for you." Yuma said, her voice also coming out of the Augma. "I think."

"This isn't how I wanted things to go."

"What did you want things to be like?" Nagisa asked, her voice coming out of the Augma.

"Like they are now. You guys still alive." Jared said, happily.

"It didn't happen here."

"I know."

"We can't come back to you. Not yet, like you said. We can fix this."

Garden...

Wilf has got a fire going in a brazier, and his telescope is set up, "You know, we'd get a bit of cash if we sold this thing."

"Don't you dare. I always imagined, your old age, I'd have put a bit of money by. Make you comfy. Never did. I'm just useless. You're supposed to say, no you're not." Donna said, angrily.

"Ha, it must be the alignment." Wilf said.

"What's wrong?"

"Well, I don't know. I mean, it can't be the lens, because I was looking at Orion. The constellation of Orion. You take a look. And tell me, what can you see?"

"Where?"

"Well, up there in the sky." Wilf said.

"Well, I can't see anything. It's just black." Donna said.

"Well, I mean, it's working. The telescope is working."

"Well, maybe it's clouds."

"There is no clouds."

"Well, there must be."

"There's not! It was there. An entire constellation. Look. Look there. They're going out. Oh, my God! Donna, look. The stars are going out." Wilf said, looking up at the sky.

"I'm ready." Donna said.

Rose, Yuma, and Nagisa are standing behind her.

Warehouse…

A UNIT Land Rover delivers them to a warehouse filled with scientific equipment, UNIT soldiers and people in white lab coats.

"Lodestone testing now at fifteen point four. Repeat, fifteen point four." Someone on the speaker said.

A woman officer salutes Rose, Yuma, and Nagisa.

"Ladies." Magambo said.

"We've told you, don't salute." Rose said, annoyed.

"Well, if you're not going to tell us your name." Magambo said, when Rose goes to a control console.

"What, you don't know either?" Donna asked.

"I've crossed too many different realities, and so has that one in the polka dots. Trust me, the wrong word in the wrong place can change an entire causal nexus." Rose said, pointing a finger at Nagisa.

"In other words, time travel and dimension travel is complicated." Nagisa said.

"And you must be Miss Noble." Magambo said.

"Donna." Donna said.

"Captain Erisa Magambo. Thank you for this."

"I don't even know what I'm doing."

"Is it awake?" Yuma asked.

"Seems to be quiet today. Ticking over. Like it's waiting." Magambo said.

It is the Tardis, hooked up to some equipment by connectors on the outside.

"Do you want to see it?" Yuma asked. "The blue box? I know I did when Kyoko told me about it."

"What's a police box?" Donna asked.

"They salvaged it from underneath the Thames. Just go inside." Nagisa said, smiling.

"What for?"

"Just go in." Rose said.

Donna enters the Tardis, "No way."

Donna comes back out, checks the outside, then goes back inside, then finally out again.

"What do you think?" Rose asked.

"Can I have a coffee?" Donna asked.

Tardis...

"Time And Relative Dimension In Space. This room used to shine with light. I think it's dying." Rose said, stroking the time rotor and it moves a little. "Still trying to help."

"And, and it belonged to the Doctor?" Donna asked.

"He was a Time Lord. Last of his kind."

"But if the Doctor and Jared were so special, what were they doing with me?"

"The Doctor thought you were brilliant. And Jared thought you were awesome, his super temp." Nagisa said.

"Don't be stupid." Donna said.

"But you are. It just took the Doctor and Jared to show you that, simply by being with them. They did the same to me. To everyone they touch." Rose said.

"Were you and them?" Donna asked.

Rose strokes Donna's shoulder, "Do you want to see it?"

"No. Go on, then."

Warehouse...

A circle of mirrors and arc lights has been set up.

"We don't know how the Tardis works, but we've managed to scrape off the surface technology, enough to show you the creature." Rose said.

"In other words, we're using the TARDIS' perception filter." Nagisa said.

"It's a creature?" Donna asked.

"Just stand here." Rose said, leading Donna to the spot she should be.

"Out of the circle, please." Magambo said.

"Yes, ma'am." Rose said, leaving Donna in the middle of the mirrors.

"Can't you stay with me?" Donna asked.

"Ready. And activate." Magambo said, while the lights come on.

"Open your eyes, Donna." Yuma said. "Come on, open them. You know you want to!"

"Is it there? Donna asked.

"Open your eyes. Look at it." Rose said.

"I can't."

"It's part of you, Donna. Look." Rose said, as a giant stag horn beetle is hanging on Donna's back like a rucksack. "It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Calm down, Donna. Donna? Donna! Okay."

"What is it?"

"We don't know." Nagisa said, sadly.

"Oh, thanks."

"It feeds off time, by changing time. By making someone's life take a different turn, like er, meetings never made, children never born, a life never loved. But with you, it's…" Rose said.

"But I never did anything important."

"Yeah, you did. One day that thing made you turn right instead of left." Rose said.

"When was that?"

"Oh, you wouldn't remember. It was the most ordinary day in the world." Nagisa said. "More ordinary than what I do with my friend."

"But by turning right, you never met the Doctor and Jared, and the whole world just changed around you." Rose said.

"Can you get rid of it?" Donna asked.

"No, we can't even touch it. It seems to be in a state of flux."

"What does that mean?"

"I don't know. It's the sort of thing the Doctor would say."

"You liar! You and your friends told me I was special. But it's not me, it's this thing. I'm just a host!"

"No, there's more than that. The readings are strange. It's, it's like reality's just bending round you. Like it did with Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi." Rose said. "And those two magical girls has a lot of fate intertwined with them, now there's even more."

"Because of this thing!" Donna said, angrily.

"No, no! We're getting separate readings from you, Donna. And they've always been there, since the day you were born. And it's more than Homura Akemi reversing time to put more fate onto her and Madoka Kaname."

"This is not relevant to the mission." Magambo said.

"I thought it was just the Doctor and Jared we needed, but it's the five of you. The Doctor, Donna Noble, Jared Shay, Madoka Kaname, and Homura Akemi, together, to stop the stars from going out."

"Why? What can I do? Turn it off, please."

"Captain." Nagisa said, looking at Magambo.

"Power down." Magambo said, and Rose goes to Donna.

"It's still there, though. What can I do to get rid of it?" Donna asked.

"You're going to travel in time." Nagisa said, happily. "Just to fix all of this. In 2026, Kirito and Asuna died. It's the time period they came from. People are dead with them gone. And with Symphogear gone, no one can stop Shem-ha."

"Now it's time for you to fix this!" Yuma said. "So I can see Kyoko! Kyooookooo!"

Donna is wearing a jacket with lots of wires all over it.

"The Tardis has tracked down the moment of intervention. Monday the twenty fifth, one minute past ten in the morning. Your car was on Little Sutton Street leading to the Ealing Road, but you turned right heading towards Griffin's Parade. You need to turn left. That's the most important thing. You've got to go back, turn left. Have you got that, Donna? One minute past ten, make yourself turn left, heading for the Chiswick Highroad." Rose said, making hand movements.

"Keep the jacket on at all times. It's insulation against temporal feedback. This will correspond to local time wherever you land." Magambo said, as a scientist puts a high tech watch on Donna's wrist.

Captain Magambo holds out a glass of water, "This is to combat dehydration."

Donna is escorted back to the mirrors.

"This is where we leave you." Rose said.

"I don't want to see that thing on my back." Donna said.

"No, the mirrors are just incidental. They bounce chronon energy back into the centre which we control and decide the destination."

"It's a time machine."

"It's a time machine."

"If you could?" Magambo asked, as Donna takes her place in the middle. "Powering up."

"How do you know it's going to work?" Donna asked.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, we, we don't. We're just, we're just guessing." Rose said.

"Oh, brilliant."

"Just remember, when you get to the junction, change the car's direction by one minute past ten."

"How do I do that?"

"It's up to you." Nagisa said. "You make the decisions, Donna."

"Well, I just have to run up to myself and have a good argument."

"I'd like to see that!" Rose said, happily.

"Activate lodestone." Magambo said.

"Good luck." Yuma said. "I want to see Kyoko again."

"I'm ready." Donna said.

"One minute past ten." Rose said.

"Because I understand now. You said I was going to die, but you mean this whole world is going to blink out of existence. But that's not dying, because a better world takes its place. The Doctor and Jared's world. And I'm still alive. That's right, isn't it? I don't die. If I change things, I don't die. That's that's right, isn't it?" Donna asked.

"We're sorry."

"But I can't die. I've got a future. With the Doctor and Jared. You lot told me!"

"Activate!" Magambo said.

Sparks fly along the power cables running to the Tardis, and Donna dematerialises.

Sutton Court...

Donna is on her hands and knees outside a cafe. She rejoices briefly, "But hold on. But this is. I'm not. This is Sutton Court. I'm half a mile away. I'm half a mile away!"

The chronometer says 9:57.

"Four minutes? Oh, my God." Donna said, and she starts running.

Car…

"Jival Chowdry. He runs that little photocopy business in Merchant Street, and he needs a secretary." Sylvia said, entering the car with Donna.

"I've got a job. HC Clements is in the City. It's nice, it's posh, so stop it." Donna said.

Donna and Sylvia are at the junction, waiting to turn.

"It won't take long. Just turn right."

"I'm going left. If you don't like it, get out and walk. You think I'm so useless."

"Oh, I know why you want a job with HC Clements, lady. Because you think you'll meet a man."

Ealing Road…

Donna has run out of breath, and it is 9:59, "I'm not going to get there."

"You're going to die." Rose said.

Donna sees a van coming towards her. It has just passed the junction the car is waiting at.

Car…

"City executives don't need temps, except for practice." Sylvia said.

"Yeah. Suppose you're right." Donna said.

Ealing Road…

"Please." Donna said, stepping out in front of the van.

The driver stands on the brakes. A woman screams.

Car...

Sylvia hears her, "Can you hear that?"

Ealing Road...

The driver gets out and waves at the taxi behind.

"Hold on! Back up!" A driver said.

"Oi, get a move on." The taxi driver said, angrily.

Car…

"The traffic's stopping." Donna said.

"Something must have happened." Sylvia said.

Ealing Road…

"Tell them this. I suppose Jared forgot it. Two words." Rose said, whispering in dying Donna's ear.

Car...

The tailback is past her junction now.

"Well, that decides it. I'm not sitting in a traffic jam. I'm going left." Donna said, making the car turn left.

(Jared's POV)

Fortune Teller's tent…

"I'm going left. Left. Left." Donna said, her voice echoing in her head.

Donna screams and key events rewind, then the beetle drops from her back, "What the hell is that?"

"You were so strong. What are you? What will you be? What will you be?" The fortune teller asked, and she runs out the back of the tent.

The Doctor enters with me, "Everything all right?"

"Are you okay, my super temp?" I asked, looking at Donna.

"Oh, God." Donna said, hugging the Doctor and I.

"What was that for?" Donna asked.

"I don't know." Donna said, looking at me. "You sent Nagisa and Yuma, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I did." I said, laughing a lot. "I worked hard to keep the world safe, you helped too. It's the least I could do."

"Yeah." Donna said. "About that dream. And you telling me where you've been with the Doctor."

"Yup. I told Nagisa and Yuma the key events. Because I was there, they weren't. You met them once, so they didn't have any impact on that version of you."

"Yes. They're magical girls, and they are adorable. But too young." Donna said, and the Doctor began prodding the dead beetle with a stick. "I can't remember. It's slipping away. You know like when you try and think of a dream and it just sort of goes."

"Just got lucky, this thing. It's one of the Trickster's Brigade. Changes a life in tiny little ways. Most times, the universe just compensates around it, but with you? Great big parallel world." The Doctor said, looking at Donna.

"Hold on. Both of you said parallel worlds are sealed off. And traveling to them isn't possible by TARDIS." Donna said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Well, they are. I use other ways to travel to parallel worlds, after all." I said, laughing a lot.

"But you had one created around the two of you. Funny thing is, seems to be happening a lot to you and Jared." The Doctor said.

"How do you mean?" Donna asked.

"Well, we had that world in the Library, Donna." I said, recalling what happened. "And then this parallel world, where the people I met and helped died."

"Just goes with the job, I suppose."

"Sometimes I think there's way too much coincidence around you, Donna. We met you once, then we met your grandfather, then we met you again. In the whole wide universe, we met you for a second time. It's like something's binding us three together." The Doctor said.

"And then there's the fact that Homura Akemi made her wish to save Madoka Kaname, in the process reversing time over and over again." I said, smirking. "In return, fate added up between the both of them. Making Madoka Kaname the Law of Cycles and Homura Akemi neither a magical girl or a witch."

"You also met everyone through shows on the telly." The Doctor said, looking at me. "So you know what's gonna happen when and where. You ending up with us isn't no accident. And neither is Donna meeting us too."

"Don't be so daft. I'm nothing special." Donna said.

"Yes, you are. You're brilliant." The Doctor said.

"You're awesome, my super temp!" I said, taking out some milk tea to drink it. "Your sass, your kindness, your warmth. No wonder I feel like my old self again."

She said that." Donna said.

"Who did?" The Doctor asked.

"That woman. Along with Yuma and Nagisa I can't remember." Donna said.

"Well, she never existed now. And I bet that those two magical girls are back home, safe and sound in this universe."

"No, but she said the stars. She said the stars are going out."

"Okay, but that world is gone, Donna." I said. "You fixed it. And you saved everyone."

"No, but she said it was all worlds. Every world. It must have hit the world Team RWBY is in. She said the darkness is coming even here." Donna said.

"Who was she?" The Doctor asked.

"I don't know."

"What did she look like?"

"She was blonde."

"What was her name?"

"I don't know."

"Donna, what was her name?"

"But she told me to warn the both of you. She said two words." Donna said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"What two words? What were they? What did she say?" The Doctor asked.

"Bad Wolf. Well, what does it mean?" Donna asked.

"Crap, I left the Earth alone too long!" I said, running outside with the Doctor. "I spent a lot of my time with Team RNJR."

Every printed thing now says Bad Wolf. Even the Tardis says Bad Wolf instead of Police Box.

Tardis...

The inside is lit by red emergency lighting, and the cloister bell tolls.

"Doctor, Jared, what is it? What's Bad Wolf?" Donna asked.

"It's bad news. Really bad news." I said, holding Donna's hand.

"It's the end of the universe." The Doctor said.
