Nadita got ready and begun casting her tier one fireball. She didn't understand why Leon told her hold back because he didn't bother explaining it to her. But she trusted him and did as he said. She could cast the spell in less than a second, but she intentionally took ten seconds to completely cast it. When she finished there was a crimson ball of fire in her hand. The ball had a diameter of merely five centimetres and the flame was flickering and looked like it would extinguish every moment, this was because the spell is only a tier one spell. If you would cast the same spell with a higher tier the flame would get bigger and more stable. When the spell was finished, she threw the fireball against the closest stone pillar. When the fireball hit the target, it exploded with a crimson flame and dispersed. A small ball filled with a white mist that was lay on another stone pillar started to glow. The mist started to move around and creating a number, the number was 269.
"Amazing! As expected from the student of such powerful magician. With that score you are under the top three so far for the practical exam this year."
The headmaster was impressed because being strong doesn't always mean that you are a good teacher and even when nurturing a kid to such a degree is really expensive and only the most important noble families could do so.
'So, ether this guy is even stronger than I expected, or he is keeping some kind of family background hidden, I have to find out how dangerous he is exactly.'
The headmaster took a mental notice that he should investigate Leon's background. What he didn't know is that he would not find a single hint about who he or Nadita are. He had no chance to find Nadita's background because she was from some slum in a different country and no one had even noticed that she disappeared and Leon was like a ghost, he could count the people that knew who he was on two hands and none of them was stupid enough to reveal anything about him.
'With such a sorry excuse of a spell I'm able to get into the top three? Why am I even here? I won't be able to learn anything at all if they such a standard.'
Nadita was disappointed because till now she still had hope that Leon had brought her here to learn some kind of magic that he isn't able to teach her, but that hope was now gone, but she was still curious if at least the strongest of her peers had some kind of strength.
"Who got the first place and what was his score?"
She asked out of curiosity.
"The first place was archived by the third prince of the Lijanos kingdom Frederick Stuart. He had an amazing score of 315 points."
The headmaster seemed very proud about that score and his chest was as high as it can get.
"Why did the prince decide to visit an academy doesn't the royal family get home schooled?"
Leon asked because it was very strange for someone from the royal family to decide to visit an academy and then not even the academy in the capital. The state academy of Lijanos was by far the best magic academy on the whole continent and the members of the royal family would get even more resources than that academy. But for some reason the prince decided to go to this academy that was pretty far away from the capital.
"The prince doesn't have a good chance to inherit the throne because he was born third and because the second prince decided to go to the state academy of the capital he wanted to go to another academy and beat him in the academy competitions and prove that he is more fitting than the second prince."
"Academy competitions?"
This had peeked Nadita's attention because this was an opportunity to finally meet someone strong her age.
"Yes, they are a big competition between all the academies of Lijanos and this year is the first time that the academies of Linota and Rem participate as well. The competition is a giant tournament were every student that wants to can participate in."
The headmaster explained full of excitement. He felt really lucky because with the prince and now Nadita as well his academy finally had a chance to compete for the top of the country.
'So even people from other countries participate? That could be really interesting I should join the competition.'
Nadita felt a little exited because she could finally fight someone strong her age. Leon still felt a little suspicious as to why the prince should study at the academy in Bautzfleth. The academy belonged to the six state academies, but it was universally recognised to be one of the weaker academies because it was close to the border and not many magical bloodlines would decide to live so far away from the capital.
"We should continue with the theoretical test."
Headmaster Beaument led them out of the courtyard into hallway until they stood in front of a huge wood door.
