Winter Fall

Ash's POV

Dad came in and told us to grab our things he looked distraught but we did as we were told. We were rushed out the door when we first saw it a wave of darkness dad turned and froze it with a small icy blast and we kept running. Morgan and I were terrified I could feel it through our link, so many thoughts were rushing between us I thought our twin telepathy was going to overload.

"Dad what is going on?" Morgan asked

"Nothing sweety we are just going on a trip" our father responded we knew he was lying he looked tired and he had never seemed so scared.

He rushed us out of the house with the little clothes we had grabbed and we started to leave our home dad kept looking over his shoulder.

We saw the sky get dark faster than we had ever seen night take over the sky "Dad what is happening" I asked

"What we have been fearing for millennia, we need to go now!"

Tendrils of darkness erupted from the Earth dad froze them, but for how long would they stay frozen?

"Kids you've got to keep running there are people here that are in danger, keep going I'll be right behind you." he reassured us as he turned and blasted the dark wave that was rushing towards him again.

"Dad we cant leave you!" I cried "Dad come with us please" Morgan said tears in her eyes he knelt down in front of us pulling us close, "I love both of you so much, but I can't come with you, take care of each other. RUN!"

We ran, until we came across a worried group of travelers and they delivered us to the nearest city where news of the darkness had spread over the days; as well as the death of Jack Frost our father.

The memories replayed over and over again in my head, all I wanted was to be able to see him one last time to warn him, to stop that moment from happening.

I felt someone holding me and heard Morgan's voice "Everything is going to be okay, we are safe now." The memories faded and I held Morgan even tighter.

"Aye stop it you are gonna kill me hugging me this tight." she said with a small laugh to which I smiled back "thanks sis." I looked at Mako who looked worried his green eyes looked filled with panic he looked like he wanted to say something but wasn't. I looked around me and saw that I had frozen. "Well I guess we figured out how to activate an ability." I say with a small laugh."

He smiled back "When you started... freezing everything you were crying, are you okay?" he asked a look of concern painted on his face.

"I'm good a little hungry though, freezing a courtyard must take a lot of energy." I faked a smile as dads face crept back into my mind. though Mako didn't look like he believed me he said he would see me at lunch and went to his his next class.

"Ash you know I'm always here if you need to talk to someone right? I'm really just a thought away." Morgan said with a grin she gave me a hug "I miss him too Ashy."

We were both crying with each other for the first time since when had found out dad had died, at least we had each other.
