Chapter thirty-six

Ida's POV

I woke up really exicited.I put on a pair of jeans, white blouse and sneakers.I headed downstairs to have my breakfast.

I met another maid-Lilian- I believed was her name.She was preparing breakfast.

"Good morning. Where's Rea"I leaned on the counter.

"Gone out to visit her sister" She replied, her eyes still focused on the pancakes she was frying.

"Okay"

She served me three pancakes, an oatmeal and fruitjuice.

Michael appeared in the kitchen through the back door.

"Hey Ida.How you doing?"He asked and hugged me.

"Fine"

"Where are you going,dressed like that?" He took a step back to observe my dress.

"To a game"

"At your school? Which game?"

"A basketball game at my school" I took a spoon of my oatmeal.

"With that guy"

"Yep" I giggled.

"Be careful okay.Drive safely" He cautioned and rubbed the top of my hair.

"Okay okay. I'll safe"

"Promise?"

"Promise"

I hugged him one last time and went to start my car.

The weather was dim.The sun seemed to covered by clouds.

I drove as fast as I could

to school.I was met by an enormous fleet of cars at our school's parking lot.

How many people came to this game? I wondered.

I managed to park my car between two little cars.

I hurriedly got out, locked the car and put my car keys into my back pocket.

A lot of students where here and there.Not to talk of the litter around the hall.

I quickly made it to the stadium but I found the place really crowded.The seats were full.Someone tapped me from behind and turned around to Carla, one of the popular girls I made friends with.But on a scale of one to ten, she'd be 3.

"What's up girl"She asked casually and flipped her red hair.

"Fine"

"So are you Jones really dating?"That was the question almost everyone had asked me and I gave her the reply I gave to all those I asked.

"Yeah.I think so"

"Wait"Her eyes widened."so you mean you're not sure?"

"Hey I've got to meet someone" I began walking away from her.

"You should know that he's just using you.I don't know why but becareful"

I stopped in my tracks, breathed in and out and continued walking to the boys locker .

I stopped at the door and peeked inside to see if anyone was there. Nobody was there. I felt warmth around my wrist and I turned around to see who it was.

It was Marcial, one of André's friends.

"what do think you're doing here?"

"I was looking-"

"No need to answer. Jones isn't it?"

I nodded."Do you Know where he is?"

"Naa.You know I don't know why he dates you 'cos you're not his type"

"The game is starting in two minutes".

He jogged away.Everyone was telling me this.

I walked back to the stadium . The place was still crowded.

I looked around till I noticed a boy younger than me had stood up from his seat.I used this opportunity to steal his seat.

The trumpets blew and I knew the game had started.I watched as André's team rivals stormed on the ground. They received a massive number of cheers.The cheer leaders representing their team also made a few moves and cheers.

When André's team players arrived, I began cheering.I found it hard to hear my cheer because everyone around me was also cheering.

When André arrived, I cheered some more.

The game had already began and André's team had already scored 3.Their rivals had 1.

I cheered and cheered till my throat hurt.

The game ended with André's team being the victors.

I was happy.I watched as they received the cup.

Everyone began to leave whilst I remained I my seat.

When the game was finally over, I exited the audience seat and went to the grounds.I met André with one of team players who  shortly left after my arrival.

"Hey what's up"

"Fine.You won" I exclaimed.

"Yeah"he said it like something unimportant.

I couldn't help myself but hug him.

He was dripping with sweat.

Ew.

"Whoa.Whoa.I'm gonna get a shower . I'll be back"

He pecked me on the cheeks and left.

I blushed immediately.

Hailey's POV

I stood at the main entrance to the stadium and saw André and the nerd talking.My heart burned with jealously.

I waited till I saw André leave. I saw how she blushed. I walked slowly to her and cleared my throat.

She turned around to face me.She had a frown on her face.

"Hello nerd"

"I don't know who else you're talking about"

"You of course"

She scoffed. "Don't you have anything to do than chase me around"

"I -" she cut me of.

"I've got somewhere to go"

I wanted to stop her but I waited till she began to climb the aisle stairs to the audience seats.

"Hey nerd "I called.She stopped.

"I have something to tell you"

I climbed the stairs and stood on one ahead of her.

"Say it quick"

I lowered my eyes and then looked at her with an innocent look.

"I just wanted to do this" I pushed her.She flapped her arms to mange her balance but she failed and went tumbling down the stairs.

"That's what you get for messing with Hailey" I shouted at her.

She groaned in pain.I watched her as she stood up and cradled her arm in front of her.

"What did I ever do to you huh?" Tears began to stream down her face.I wanted her to cry as I cried when he left me.

I stepped down the stair ahead of me.

"You took André away from me"

I stepped down.

"You took everything away from me.I hate you"

"I didn't take him.He left you" she shouted back.

I laughed.

"I hate you. Nerd"

"Don't call me that"

"Else what"

She stood there crying.

I exited the stadium and went to the car park to  go home.

I stopped when I saw André.

He was leaning against his car and talking to one of his team players.

I walked to him.

"Hey. Can we talk?" I asked innocently.

"Please leave us "He told the other guy and her looked at both of us, shrugged and left.

"André why did you leave me.That to for that nerd"

"Hailey for your information, leave me alone. Okay.I don't need you"

He walked away and left me there.

André I don't care who you are with. I'll take you back.

André 's POV

I walked into the stadium to find Ida crying with her arm cradled in front of her.I walked to her.

"What happened? "

"Hailey.She did this to me"

"So bad.I wanted to go out with you . I'll send you home now"

I could care less about what happened to her.

"No no . Let's go . I'm fine"

She straightened her arm and smiled.

I stopped my car at a pub.

We both got out.

"What are we doing here?"

"I come here after every game to drink"

She sighed and shrugged.

We entered the pub . She sat on a bar next to me.

"The usual" I told the man behind the counter.

He picked a glass bottle containing a brown liquid, poured it in my glass and gave it to me.I gulped it down and gave the glass to him.

He filled it again.

"You look scared"

"Yeah. I've never been to a place like this"

A girl was approaching me but when she saw me with Ida, she frowned and walked away.

"No need to be scared.Just a pub"

I looked at dancing people.

"Wanna dance"

"No"

"Another glass"I ordered the waiter.

He filled another glass and  gave it to me.

I handed it to Ida.

"Drink"

She looked at me and then at the glass.

"No"

"Come on just a shot"

She shrugged"Okay"

She took it with her okay hand and gulped it down.

She winced and shut her eyes.

"You haven't drunk before"

She shook her head.

"Then you need another"

"Another please " I ordered the waiter.

He filled the glass and handed it to Ida.She gulped it down.

She drunk another and another till she got drunk.

"Hey . Let's dwink some more"

I put a hand up at the waiter.He stopped filling the glass and attended to other customer.

"Let's go home"

"No I wan to dwink some more. Hey you, give me some more"

"Don't " I  told the bar attendant.

I paid the bills and carried her to my car.

I opened the door and put her in the passenger seat.I locked her seat belt across her and jogged around the car to the passenger seat.

"Where are you taking me" She asked lazily.

"Home"

"No.I want to go to the pub"

"No. home"

"Hey where's my car?"

"At school.You can get it tomorrow"

She remained silent throughout the ride to her home.

I stopped the car in front of the huge golden gates and blew the car horn.

I waited till a security man walked out the gates.He walked to my car and looked inside.

"Why is Ida with you?"

"Just let me in and let me get her in"

He shrugged and entered the house.

The gates opened and I drove inside.

I parked my car on the compound and took the seat belt off Ida.I carried her bridal style in my hands.

"Go inside and tell one of the maids to show you her room"

I nodded and walked to the huge doors I had once walked through that led to the house.

I slung Ida over my shoulder and knocked on the door.

A maid opened the doors and put her hands on her mouth.

"Is that madam Ida? "

"Yes now show me her room"

"Let me send her to her room"

"Don't be silly.You cant carry her"

"Okay now follow me"

The maid climbed the oder half of the grand staircase and led me to a door a few paces away from the stairs.

"This is her room sir"

She opened the door and I walked into the room.The room was so beautiful and extravagantly furnished.

"You can now leave us" I told the maid.

She looked at me strangely.

"I'm sorry sir but I cannot"

"Okay . I'll lay her on the bed and leave"

I did as I said.The maid rushed to Ida. I walked out of the room.The nurse shut the door.

Yes . Finally, I'm in her house.

I looked around the well furnished house.

I needed to get to her father's study . That's the only place I can think of.

I walked around the place, climbing mini stairs.I ended up at a block full of doors . I walked to  every door but they were all locked.

I stopped in front of a room that had gone glass walls.Yhe doors were even made of glass.I looked through the glass and saw bundle of papers, books arranged in a shelf, a desk and chair,and most of all, I saw Mr.James Hall written in black letters on a sliver board sitting on the desk.

I knew that I was here.
