Chapter Eight

The sunlight leaked ever so gently passed the curtains. Its warmth dancing on the male's peaceful face. The bed moved a little next to him as his lover sat up, yawning and stretching her stiff limbs. She leans over and kisses the male's face gently waking him up. He groan in respond saying it was to early to wake up so soon. She giggled and continued kissing him.

"Lion~"

*Groan*

"Its time to wake up my Lion~"

*Groan*

He opened one eye and look at her, taking in her naked body next to his, remembering the activities of the night before. He sat up and kissed her gently.

"Morning kitten~"

Athena smiled at him and pecked his cheek before hopping of the bed. They both got dressed and ready for the day. Today was Renji's birthday and they got invited to a small party at the café.

"Heya birthday boy~"

"Hey Athena"

"Aw why so dull big bro"

Athena tried ruffling his hair but her being short failed miserably. Renji just chuckled at her.

"Glad you can make it shorty~"

"Hey thats mean"

Uta walked in and hugged her from behind.

"Hey Renji, since your 26 now can I finally eat you?"

"No"

There he goes again. Uta only interested in eating Renji. Athena giggled as she walked over to Touka. Uta and Renji still runting in the background.

The day went by smoothly. Uta challenged Renji to a arm wrestling contest where if he wins he can eat him but Renji won. Touka and Athena spoke about what they wanna do in the future. Everyone joked and fooled around. Renji actually smiled and luaghed. It truly was the best. Uta and Athena gave him a old token from back when they were younger. It was a painted portrait of them standing by the abandoned mine. Uta trying to bite Renji, Athena giggling and Renji trying to hold Uta back.

"Thank you Athena~"

"What about me Renji?"

"Oh your still here?"

"Tsk"

Everyone just laugh and the odd bond between the three.

"Excuse me but I've got one more present for you Renji and you Uta."

Athena stood up from Uta's lap and walked over to Renji. She stopped and turned around to see everyone waiting patiently. Touka gave her a thumbs up and Athena nodded taking in a deep breath.

"I'm pregnant!"

Silence.

*Queue the crickets*

That's all that filled the room. Complete silence. Then Uta jumped up and run too her.

"Really? Your not messing with me are you?"

He asked seriously. He was excited he always wanted a little him and her running around and now its actually happening.

"Y-"

"Athena please tell me am I really ganna become and uncle again?"

Renji asked walking closer excitement in his eyes. Just as she was about to answer the others jumped up asking more questions.

"Hey let her talk damn it!"

Thank you Touka

"Yes Uta I'm really pregnant. Yes Renji your ganna be an uncle again. No I'm not pregnant with someone else, Itori and Thank you Touka."

Uta pulled her into a hug. Renji joined in, making it a group hug. Finally one of them is ganna pass down the generations of the group. Renji had tears in his eyes well Uta was a crying mess on the floor.

"Aw Renji why you crying~?"

"I'm not! Just got... something in my... eyes."

"Okay if you say so. Lion are you okay~?"

She kneels down and holds her lovers hands.

"No I'm not okay! Im over joyed. Finally we can be a real family! Athena please marry me?"

"No"

"What why?"

"Lets wait a bit then you can ask me. Its too soon now okay Uta"

He nodded. He knew it was soon plus with the baby on the way it ganna cost them. Everyone was over joyed well Renji and Uta were constantly buzzing around Athena making sure she's okay. After the party they all went home. Now in bed with her lover she felt Uta rubbing her belly and she smiled to herself.

"Love you my kitten~"

"Love you too my lion~"
