"DIDN'T YOU MISS ME, Shishi?"
She looked at Blake. They were having a dinner at Aristocrat. It had already been 2 days since Blake came back in the Philippines.
"I didn't." She rolled her eyes to emphasize her answer to him.
Blake chuckled. "You still haven't change, Shishi. Are you excited on our wedding?"
"Can you remind me again why I agreed on our arranged marriage?"
"Because you're going to have the most handsome groom in the whole universe." Blake winked at her and did the signature pose in Japan.
She laughed. "Gross!" He was really funny but it made him looked more handsome. She even noticed the other costumer staring at him. Well, Grandfather is Korean and thanks to this, Blake looked like one of the handsome Korean actors.
"I'm really glad to make you laugh. I really missed everything about you, Shishi," He looked intently at her.
She could feel her cheeks flushed. "You could have come back sooner, you know."
"I'm sorry. I needed to settle everything in the company before going back here so I won't leave you anymore." He extended his hand to hold hers. "And I promise not to leave you again."
She could feel the sincerity on his voice as she looked at his eyes. She felt guilty when she suddenly imagined Zeek as the one telling those words to her.
She cleared her throat. "Baka." She threw a rolled tissue paper on Blake.
Blake laughed. He managed to catch it. "Anyway, Shishi, tell me about your adventures during the years of me being away from you."
"As if you were not updated!" They had always been exchanging emails.
"Well, I would like to hear everything from you personally. I really missed you, Shishi. It's your fault because you have always been refusing my video calls." He acted as if he was really hurt.
"You knew I'm not comfortable with that." She really wasn't comfortable with video chatting or even in any other things with gadgets. She had only been using her laptop for her novels and her phone for emergency.
"And that makes you more adorable." He smiled.
She blushed. Now that's the main lead for you, Shizu!
"Baka!"
"I'm telling you the truth." He smiled. "So, tell me now about your adventures. I have the whole evening to listen."
"There's really nothing much to tell. You already knew I became a writer."
"Yeah. I have copies of all your novels."
"You what??" she was surprised.
"Of course, I should be my future wife's number one fan."
He's such a sweet guy!
"So, tell me more, Shishi," he really seemed curious.
"What else should I tell you?"
"Let's see." He looked like he was thinking about something. "What about that Drew's friend? The guy who was with you in Baguio?" He looked at her as if he was anticipating her answer.
She became a bit uncomfortable. "Y-you mean Zeek?"
"Yeah. What were you doing with him in Baguio?"
She cleared her throat before she answered. "I just asked him to let me ride with him to Baguio. You know, I can't drive. I just needed a new place to motivate me for my new novel." And I needed to hide from you.
"Oh. So, he's not a threat for me then?" He asked as if he wanted an assurance.
Oh boy! "What do you mean?"
"Nothing. I guess I'm just being a little paranoid."
She drank her water to ease the tension in her body. "Zeek already has a girlfriend Blake," she felt she needed to say that.
"I see." He smiled. "So why don't we go to the beach tomorrow?"
"Beach?"
"Yeah. I want to enjoy every moment I have with you from now on. Let's invite Drew and his friend--- and his girlfriend."
"What?? Why?!"
SHIZU IMMEDIATELY went to her friend's house after Blake sent her home. She called Jasfer and Frey and told them to meet at Jasfer's house. They were her best friends since college and they were also her co-writers. Since they all have "abnormal" sense of time, they have always been available anytime for each other.
It was passed midnight when she arrived at Jasfer's house. Frey was already there since she just lived two blocks away.
"What's the problem, my dear?" Jasfer asked her while removing his fake eyelashes. Yes. Jasfer was gay, the most handsome gay she ever met.
She sat beside Frey who was eating a slice of pizza. "Blake is already here."
The two instantly looked at her with both eyes widen. "What??!" They asked in chorus.
"You heard it right. He's here and he already met Zeek."
"What??!" They both knew everything about her so she was not surprised by their reactions on her announcement. She told them what happened in Baguio and Blake's plan on going to the beach.
"You are in a big big big T!" Jasfer said.
"Ew. You're so gross!" Frey threw a piece of mushroom at Jasfer.
"Why am I gross?" He threw the mushroom back to Frey.
"Whatever."
"Hey, I need your help here, my friends."
"Well, my dear, you have to forget about Zeek and start moving on with Blake. You're already getting married for Pete's sake!" Jasfer exaggerated his voice.
"How can she marry someone she doesn't even like? She has to break the engagement before the wedding comes." Frey looked at her and hold her shoulders. "I'll help you explain everything to your family, Shi."
"Hello! You can't break the engagement anymore. Your family is already preparing for the wedding. And besides, you cannot choose Zeek. He already has a girlfriend."
Frey turned to Jasfer. "But she cannot spend the rest of her lives with someone she doesn't love."
"She will learn to love Blake soon. She liked him when they were still young, she'll like him again if she spends time with him."
"No. She loves Zeek. Zeek is her first love and Blake is just a friend to her."
"Zeek has a girlfriend. Zeek has already someone he loves."
"I think Zeek likes Shi, too."
He has a girlfriend. Blake loves Shi and they are getting married."
"Hey! Hey!" Shi interrupted the two. "Really guys? Your thoughts are very helpful." She rolled her eyes on them. They were making her situation more complicated.
"Don't you really like Blake, Shi?" Jasfer asked.
"Blake has always been special to me. I never really cared if I love him or not when I agreed to the engagement. Well, I thought I loved him back then."
"But you met Zeek," said Frey.
"Zeek made my heart skip a beat. Even though he has always been grumpy towards me, I still feel his care for me."
"He has a girlfriend, my dear."
"But I only Met his girlfriend two years ago. She never came to Zeek's house. I have never even seen them together after he introduced her to us."
"So, what are you implying, my dear?" Jasfer asked.
"Urgh! I don't know! What should I do?"
"We are going to the beach!" Jasfer excitedly burst out.
