CHAPTER 4: A NEW DAY AT CROWN HIGH

AT THE K.V MANSION

"Good morning, Nanny." Kylee offered a warm smile as she made her way to the dining table

where her breakfast was already waiting for her.

"Good morning dear. It's good to see that you are all dressed up and ready.

Thought you were still going to keep on stressing me out." Nina teased with a smile.

"Oh, ha ha, real funny." She said in a sarcastic tone, but still gave a small chuckle.

"Though, I am sorry for stressing you out. I just didn't like it here." Between sentences, she took big bites of her food.

"So what changed your mind?" Nina asked, looking at Kylee with her big, lovely, brown eyes.

For the first time, Kylee noticed how beautiful her Nanny looked despite her age. "Oh nothing

really. I just realized how pretty you are, and if I keep stressing you out your beauty might fade."

Just as she finished talking, her plate was almost entirely emptied. She got up from her seat,

placed her plate in the sink, and decided to take her leave.

"Really now, Kylee- you want to pull my legs just to get out of answering a simple question,"

Knowing the girl well, she cocked her head to the side, laughing. It was useless to get her to talk

because she'd only ever answer when she was ready to. So, instead, she merely watched

Kylee walk away.

She headed toward the front door with her backpack in hand.

"Someone is looking extremely pretty today." Diego said as soon as he spotted Kylee coming his direction.

"Thanks D. Can we go now before I run late for school."

Kylee urged. "And, no, I won't tell you why I had a change of heart." She added quickly before he had the chance to ask.

Diego knitted his eyebrows together with question, but followed her request.

AT CROWN HIGH

Taking people's breaths away was something that Kylee always did when she walked through the school halls.

It happens so frequently that it's become normal for her. Eyes were always on her.

However, people always looked on in envious, and sometimes jealous, ways.

But, after spending close to an hour getting dressed in the morning, it was only natural for her to look good.

From the off shoulder, tan top- which revealed well structured shoulders- to the short,

girly skirt that showed off her long, soft beautiful legs with those amazing pair of block heels to accompany them.

One could not help but fall in love.

Jazz, who stood by her locker, was totally burning out of envy as Kylee walked past her to where Jordan was standing.

She didn't have to acknowledge the fact that Kylee didn't come from an ordinary family. It was quite obvious.

Kylee's family, the Westens, weren't well known in Northwell, but everyone could tell they had to be rich in some sense.

Otherwise, Kylee wouldn't be able to afford all the expensive things she had.

"Hey, Jordan. Good morning."

"Morning, Kylee." Jordan ended his sentence with a killer smile- one that can make any girl forget her name.

"Miss westen, may I please have the honor of walking you to class?" He said in a gentleman-like manner.

"Why, yes, of course, Mr Mickelson."

They both shared a laugh as they walked hand in hand to class.

At the sight, Jazz was in a rage of anger and jealousy. Every instinct in her wanted to pounce on Kylee.

It wouldn't be the first time she's done it. Though, last time didn't end so well.

When she attacked Kylee in front of Jordan before, he became absolutely furious.

Jazz wanted to avoid that happening again, so she held back and waited for the next time the girl was alone.

Instead, since she shared her class with them, Jazz swallowed her temper and got to class before the passing period had ended.

Unfortunately enough, Jazz sat directly behind Kylee. Beside Kylee sat Jordan.

Jazz so badly wanted to reach her hand forward and yank her hair as she had to listen to them laugh and joke with each other until class started.

She almost gave into the temptation but was distracted as the loud voice of her teacher made her jump. "Good morning class." Mr Bryson greeted as he walked into the class.

And, for the first time in her life, Jazz was happy to see Mr Bryson.

After a few hours of morning lectures, it was finally time for lunch.

Jazz quickly got up and ran to Jordan. "Hey there, Jordan."

"Oh, hi, Jazz. Can I help you with anything?"

"Actually, yeah. I didn't understand anything in math class and I was wondering, since you are good at math, would you mind being my tutor?"

"I thought you have a math tutor." Jordan said, a bit confused.

"I did but he wasn't much help. So will you help me?"

"Sorry, I would love to, but I already offered to tutor Kylee. Maybe next time Jazz." Jordan said

as he took his backpack and headed for the door where Kylee was waiting for him.

Jazz couldn't believe Jordan had just said no to her because of Kylee.

"I don't care how, but Kylee Westen, you have to leave this school by hook or by crook." she

muttered to herself as she walked out of the class, boiling in anger.

AT THE CAFETERIA

Kylee couldn't help but notice that Jordan had been staring at her necklace which spelled out

"W.KYLEE."

"You like it?" She asked as she touched it with her finger.

He nodded. "It's pretty. Do you always put it on?"

"Yes, I do. It's a family tradition." Kylee replied.

"Family tradition? I was wondering why every Westen family member wears those necklaces with their name on it."

This came as a surprise to Kylee that he knew. Jordan's never really met any other Weston

besides her. Had he..Googled her? "Did you read that in an article?"

"Okay, well, I know it's creepy but I looked you up online last night and I saw an article about

your family and also found out that you own your own business." Jordan couldn't hide curiosity and amazement in his eyes.

"Yes, I do." Kylee answered with pride. "Every member of my family has their own business."

"Who could have ever thought that I would ever sit with one of the members of the country's most wealthiest family and also the CEO of House of Lee." Jordan said with a smile.

"And who could have ever thought that I would ever attend Crown High, let alone stay in a backward town such as Northwell." They both burst into a laugh.

Jazz, who was sitting within earshot, had her blood boiling even more than it was earlier. She

sat, staring at their two with anger in her eyes.

Kylee had caught notice of her staring and they made eye contact for a brief moment. Though,

she quickly turned her attention back to Jordan. "What was Jazz talking to you about back in

class?" She asked in a curious tone.

"Nothing really important. She just asked me to tutor her, but I said no.

I said that I'm already tutoring you, so I can't."

Kylee's eyes grew wild with surprise. "Why on earth will you lie to her? And why use me?"

"Firstly because I don't like her and I know she is up to something crazy.

Secondly, you are the only person I know she can't scare away." Jordan said as he stood and got ready to leave.

"I'm going to practice. Do you want to come along and watch?"

"Sure, I'll love to." Kylee quickly stood up and followed him out of the cafeteria.

Jazz, however, could only watch them in jealousy as they both walk out together.
