'Its all over,' the Celestial Star king lay prone on the ground surrounded by clouds of celestial energy. The myriad transformations of countless stars and celestial bodies began dissipating. The mighty formation and ultimate weapon thousands of years in the making was obliterated in one night.
The figure of the Celestial Star king was no longer heroic nor mighty. He was just a frail disheveled man with a stab wound through his chest. He could barely comprehend what had happened. The dragon with a cultivation of Demonic Ascendent appeared out of nowhere and ripped out the supporting saints. Hu Wenxi had then attacked reducing him to a miserable state.
The Celestial Star king weakly raised his head catching the figure of Hu Wenxi descending from the sky. Besides the emperor was a young woman in her mid twenties dressed in scalelike black armour. She cut a mature and heroic figure with a lengthy silver battle skirt. Upon her head were deer like horns.
"You know, I thought you wouldn't be stupid enough to rebel now. If anything you should have done so earlier" criticised Hu Wenxi. The Celestial Star king glared in indignation at the emperor. Although both were monarchs there was a clear difference in attitude between them.
"You, what would you know. Upstart commoner" spat the Celestial Star king. His right arm admits ripped imperial robes flipped over his chest. The man attempted to get up pushing all the muscles in his body to move. His meridians were already overloaded, his meridians were breaking down.
"Hah, you've reduced yourself to a cripple. That was too much for you handle, especially after you brought out the axe" Hu Wenxi sighed sadly. On some levels Hu Wenxi admired the Celestial Star king, he was a mighty figure ahead of his time. Despite his position Hu Wenxi was always a cultivator first ruler second, he admired all figures in legends or current with high cultivation.
The rank of Human Immortal stood above all others below true immortality. To reach this stage represented enormous effort. Talent alone cannot push you so far. Hu Wenxi could not help but think it wasteful that the Celestial Star king gave everything up for mere status.
"What would you know, you're just a usurper to my ancestor throne, to my divine right" spat Celestial Star king as he struggled onto his feet before falling onto his hands and knees. The proud king gripped his kneecaps and tried to force himself up only to fall again. He gritted his teeth in rage, humiliation and indignation. "No you're worse then that, you're just a puppet for Qiang Wang's ambition".
Hu Wenxi lowered his head, what the Celestial Star king said was something the young emperor could not deny. Ao Changying massaged her temples to the side and sighed, "Finish your business here, I don't have all day". She turned and ascended to the heavens once more.
"Another one of your bitches?" Coughed Celestial Star king, splatters of blood erupting from his mouth. Hu Wenxi shook his head, "A lifelong friend". The Celestial Star king spat out some more blood and sighed, "Can't even die on my feet".
"You have yourself to blame for that, it would've turned out better if you stayed in your lane. Now you just caused me more trouble"
The Celestial Star king glared at Hu Wenxi, "Trouble? You or your wife, everyone knows your rule. You don't do jack shit, the Creation God sect is the one with all the power. Your Hu imperial clan is just a puppet front for them". He sat back down looking more tired then ever, "I remember when I first heard of you, you were a nobody barely anything of note. Then you conquered the world".
The king's expression changed from indignation to rage, "Who gave you the right. Who the fuck gave you the right" he roared. Hu Wenxi looked at him in contemplation for a moment before responding, "Who gave any of us the right? I was in a good position and I went with the flow. I had no intention to be king, but events turned out the way it did. In truth I have no desire to change the status quo, I admired you and the rest especially your legacies, those ancient legends regarding the founding kings".
Hu Wenxi turned nostalgic remembering something hundreds of years ago, to passions of a past life. "So many good stories in the past, so many that could be written" his eyes turned sad as he looked at the prone Celestial Star king. "Xin Da Kong, I am truely sorry to have erase your legacy. But I cannot allow this to happen again".
"You, you, you" the Celestial Star king against all odds leapt to his feat throwing himself at a surprised Hu Wenxi. The king didn't even have enough strength to self destruct but he was unwilling to die on his ass nor his knees. Before he even reached Hu Wenxi, his body became dust.
The emperor's response was quick and decisive. The Celestial Star king was dead before he even reached the emperor's personal space. As he looked at the dissipating particles the emperor's eyes were solemn. "Farewell Xin Da Kong" he ascended towards the sky meeting up with Ao Changying.
"You could've finished that much quicker" she muttered. Hu Wenxi nodded his head. "Why?" She asked. Hu Wenxi responded, "You already know the answer to that". Ao Changying sighed, "Your passion towards the past is a crippling flaw, somethings shouldn't be preserved".
Hu Wenxi sighed, "The first generation Celestial Star king is a cool figure I've always admired since arriving here. I hate seeing this place go, so much murals and ". Ao Changying frowned, "Ancient history is exactly that. Don't put too much stock in them, plenty of civilisation die all the time. This one's will serve a better purpose". Hu Wenxi nodded unable to deny her words, 'My in-laws will also push that agenda. If my old teacher sees this now, she'll definitely be saddened'.
The duo flew into the atmosphere. In the distance Hu Wenxi's divine avatar fought against Yinying Yan. Well the word massacring is more accurate. Hu Wenxi from start to finish considered the Celestial Star king as more of a threat then Yinying Yan ever was.
"Is he seriously a True Immortal? His power offensively and defensively I surpassed by some Human Immortals, namely me" said Ao Changying offhandedly. Hu Wenxi laughed, "Yes, its a bad match up for him, he's essentially a hyper specialised assassin build going up against a powerhouse".
"He should never have been an assassin. His Qi is fire, too passionate, too hot tempered. His assignation techniques aren't all that either" mocked the dragoness. Hu Wenxi stepped forward and expanded his reach.
Sandy clouds of Immortal power permitted reality surrounding Thousand Flames upper realm. Hu Wenxi had already locked down spacetime preventing teleportation but Yinying Yan's high speed travel could puncture it. Hence Hu Wenxi chose to slow down time around the escaping gaunt man whilst simultaneously stretching space increasing the distance he had to travel.
"Curses" yelled a frightened Yingying Yan. He expanded as much power as he could but it was hardly enough. Hu Wenxi enclosed his fist trapping Yinying Yan preventing him from moving. The Hu Wenxi in armour looked at the trapped man then at his other self, "You were always better at spells".
Yinying Yan desperately struggled, he raised his dagger and slashed at the sandy energy trapping him. His immortal artefact dagger was a specialised weapon designed to corrode away anything like acid. However it had suffered too much damage. The armoured Hu Wenxi swung his ruler. The attack went unhindered by the sandy barrier and smashed into the dagger.
With Hu Wenxi looked a little saddened by the dagger's destruction, 'We'll restore it later' they both thought. Yinying Yan looked
The armoured Hu Wenxi raised his dragon staff. Its metallic eyes roared to life glowing in divine cosmic power. He brought the ruler down and as if a planet sized mountain descended, a herculean force pulverised Yinying Yan. The man couldn't even get a last word in.
The trio descended after finishing their job landing near a massive cloud of starry energy. The Profound Immortal war axe lay dormant once more, as its master was dead it no longer held any loyalties left. Emperor Hu Wenxi took one look at it and shook his head, "Doesn't really suit me".
The armoured Hu Wenxi retracted his ruler and staff. Placing one hand on the glowing metal, "Then I'll take it then, stay in your dignified look and leave the badass warrior to me". The reaction was immediate, the axe hummed with power before shrinking. It sensed enormous divine power emanating from the armoured Hu Wenxi.
"Refine it for me, divine power can't interact with immortal treasures" said the armoured Hu Wenxi who passed the axe to the emperor. It only took a moment for the emperor to spill his blood into the axe allowing it to recognise him as its master.
"You're surprisingly chill about the whole situation. Are you not displeased with the death of your master's descendants?" Asked Hu Wenxi at the axe. It hummed somewhat but didn't deny Hu Wenxi's refinement of it. It seems that the axe did not mind too terribly.
Immortal artefacts possessed some degree of self conscience. This only grew with the grade of the artefact. The axe was an extremely powerful Profound Immortal artefact and as such possessed some form of personality of its own. Of course it can somewhat choose who it served but that individual would have to be one of extreme power if they're not in the Profound Immortal realm.
"Let's go" commanded Hu Wenxi. The trio blasted off into the distance towards the battle taking place. Previously he had sent his Human Immortal retainers to help. Since the likes of Yi Guang and taoist Shark had joined the fray the war had swung in the loyalist favour.
When Hu Wenxi arrived he froze the entire battlefield. With one stroke of his hand everyone who rebelled were aged to dust. They couldn't even get a last word in. The whole time Hu Wenxi looked displeased. He landed near Qiang Wang, Qiang Mei Hua and the others who had arrived.
"Wipe out every faction who rebelled today, destroy their foundation and leave none alive" he commanded. His army bowed, "As you command your majesty," they cried in unison. Hu Wenxi nodded he then invited all those Human Immortals back to the royal capital to rest and heal from their injuries.
Ao Changying stayed to herself not interacting with anyone. All but a few were also nervous around her as they didn't recognise who she was or what relation she had to the emperor. Qiang Wang especially felt uneasy as he could sense that the dragoness was very strong, far stronger then him.
Long Chi Bai approached Hu Wenxi who sat on his throne drinking a glass of cola. The dragon didn't take much note of the odd drink and merely asked Hu Wenxi, "You majesty, who is that benefactor who aided us? I can tell she is of the dragon race but I have never met her".
Hu Wenxi smirked, "She's someone with a phenomenal background. Our true backer if you will." Long Chi Bai was left stunned at that declaration. Hu Wenxi got up from his rest and addressed everyone present, "I humbly thank you all fellow taoists for aiding me in repelling the traitors, I will distribute rewards for you later. Unfortunately for now we must question the captive".
The emperor flung his leave sending the bloody form of Aadar tumbling onto the ground. "Invader, who are you and who do you work for" demanded Hu Wenxi. Aadar glared back at the emperor but nevertheless he stayed on the ground. The man was not stupid, he knew that the beings in the throne hall with tear him to shreds.
"Kekeke, you don't know who you offended" spat Aadar, he took a moment to calm his injuries. The armoured Hu Wenxi had crushed his bones during their previous engagement but he could begin healing them. "The beings out there are far beyond your comprehension". The experts around the room looked nervously at each other.
"What were you lot after?" Asked Hu Wenxi. Aadar then bursted into his own laughter. Seeing how uncooperative he was Hu Wenxi released a wave of his power. "AH" Aadar was launched into the air smacking into a pillar. "You'll know soon enough, but you won't understand it. Bunch of country bumpkins" mocked Aadar. Hu Wenxi released another wave of power smacking Aadar across the face.
The emperor faced Nan Fan, "Take him to the dungeons, torture every bit of information out of him. Take screaming ghost old madam with you". Nan Fan and another Human Immortal bowed deeply and carried out the commands. Hu Wenxi sat back down on his throne resting his face on his palm, "That will be all for today, I'm sure you all miss your families". The Human Immortals and top tier saints all bowed in respect before leaving.
However Hu Wenxi sent a signal to Qiang Wang, "I have something to talk to you about".
