The teen in front of me looked over when Mr. Groth and I stepped into the office. I felt like a fish out of water, my mouth completely dry and lost for words.

The way her black, pin-straight hair fell past her waist, the way her smile lit up the whole room; I quaked a bit in my Air Force ones.

"Foyla, this is Dasom Heo. She's our newest senior," Mr. Groth introduced.

Dasom stuck her hand out with a smile, as I stared at it for a moment. Finally all the wires in my head fused back together to make me a functioning human again. I quickly grabbed her hand and shook it with a bright smile.

"I'm Fayola Abbas, and I'll be at your service all day today, madam." I said with with a flirtatious tone, which caused her to giggle.

"Alright, sounds good, my servant." She joked back, as I immediately smiled more. This girl already got my sense of humor! I think I'm in love.

"Fayola, don't cause Dasom any trouble or show her where trouble lurks, understand?" Mr. Groth said, as it broke me out of my trance. I waved my other hand a bit to dismiss his comment, since I was still holding Dasom's.

"Relax, Mr. G! You put her in the best hands of the whole senior class! She'll get the hang of it here soon!" I told him with confidence, as he sighed at my antics.

"Go on then, outta my office." He mumbled, as I smiled and looked as Dasom.

"C'mon! We're gonna have a blast!" I exclaimed to her and held her hand tighter. I pulled her out of the office and began the tour.

"And here's where the stoners go to get...Ya know...stoned." I said as this caused her to laugh more. Already thirty minutes into the tour and every time she laughed at my jokes it gave me butterflies.

"So, I hear that we're in chemistry and english together, as Mr. Groth told me." Dasom said, as I looked at her and smiled.

"Well, well, well. Guess we get to start the day seeing each other and end it saying goodbye." I joked, as she laughed again, and my head spun in delight.

"I gotta say, I didn't think I was gonna enjoy it here, but I'm already having a blast with you." She told me, as I smiled and stopped. I rested my hand on my chest and looked over at nothing in particular.

"Wow. I'm making a good impression. Golly, I didn't think I was such a great person." I laughed as she laughed along with me and playfully punched my shoulder.

"Whatever!" She continued to laugh, as I continued the tour, and showed her all the  other hidden gems in the school.

Lunch had officially rolled around when we finished up, as I told her she could sit with me, and meet Amoy and Jiro. She packed that day, so I showed her over to the table my friends were already seated at. They smiled when they saw the two of us walk over, as Amoy immediately jumped up and held a hand out.

"Hi! I'm Amoy! You must be the new student!" She said excitedly, as Dasom shook her hand with an equally bright smile.

"Hey! I'm Dasom, and yup!" She told her, as Jiro also stood up and held a hand out.

"Hey, I'm Jiro. It's nice to meet you, Dasom." He said, as Dasom switched over to his hand and shook it.

"You too!" Dasom said, as she sat down and pulled out her packed lunch.

"Well, I'm gonna grab my lunch, cause I didn't find time to pack today, so continue with your bantering!" I hummed, about to walk away, but quickly stopped and pointed at Amoy.

"And don't scare her away!" I said seriously, as Jiro and Dasom chuckled, while Amoy pouted.

"Why are you yelling at me! I'm a perfectly normal-Who am I kidding, you're right. I'll try my hardest." She mumbled, as Jiro and Dasom broke into a fit of laughter. I simply shook my head and went to grab a slice of pizza, as I grumbled in wonder on how we became friends. I walked back to the table a few minutes later, as my friends and Dasom discussed senior year plans and how Dasom could get involved.

"If you'd like I can put in a good word to the art department about you?" Jiro told Dasom, as she smiled brightly and nodded.

"I would greatly appreciate that! I love art and would be so disappointed if ceramics was the only class I took this year." Dasom said, as Amoy nodded in agreement, and rested her chin in the palm of her hand.

"I get that. I would be super disappointed if I wasn't able to take computer science and robotics this year." She mumbled behind her kale salad, as I rolled my eyes.

Amoy lived and breathed wires and batteries, I don't think I could see her ever going into another field outside of it. I began to direct my wondering mind back to Dasom, as she showed Jiro something on her phone. He had a look of shock on his face, as this peaked my curiosity a bit. I leaned over to take a glance and I felt as though I had just looked at a painting from an art gallery.

Dasom showed him a painting of an older looking woman, as she sat on a bench in a public park. She wore a colorful sundress, as the base color was lilac with white and yellow flowers that coated it for the pattern. I almost believed I looked at a photograph, until Dasom began to describe the process of the painting.

"Wait, you painted that?" I interrupted, as Dasom looked over at me and smiled.

"I did. It's a painting of my grandmother. She was very willing to sit in that position for about 3 hours and allowed me to take photographs for reference." Dasom told me, as I gapped in awe at the artwork on the phone.

"That's amazing! You should paint me like one of your French models one day." I joked, as she laughed a bit and shook her head.

"Not the first time I've been asked to do that. But let me ask you this: Nude or dressed?" She joked back, as I laughed a bit and took the last bite of my pizza.

"Nude, of course! You have to see Fayola's body! Ooo, the shape of it is immaculate!" Amoy cut in and kissed the tips of her fingers, like a chef would to describe their fantastic food. I rolled my eyes again, as I got up and tossed away my trash.

"Amoy, that was a one-time thing, and a complete accident! You caught me off guard when I was changing from gym!" I laughed, as the other three laughed as well. Amoy just shrugged, as she began to pack up her things just as the bell rung.

"Alright! Only 2 classes left and we can bust outta here for the day! Dasom, would you like to join us for our after-school rituals? We all gather in a circle and chant Latin to hopefully free demons to kill the people around us we don't like." Amoy joked, but kept a straight face, and gave Dasom a smile at the end. Dasom raised a brow and laughed a little bit, but more awkwardly.

"Don't scare her, dumbass. We all just simply go back to someone's house, usually Fayola's, and just hang out." Jiro said and elbowed Amoy's side, as she rubbed it in pain. Dasom let out a small sigh of relief and nodded.

"Sure! Thanks for inviting me!" She said in excitement, as I smiled a bit in excitement as well. I really wanted to hang out and get to know Dasom better, as I found her humor just as great as mine, and she also had this beautiful smile. Long way of saying; I was smitten over her. And yes 'smitten' may be some old-timey way of saying it, but it was true! Even if we've only known each other for about two and a half hours, she just felt like the one I'd wanna date.

As we made our way out of the cafeteria, I showed Dasom to her next class and waited by the doorway. Just as she was about to head in, she turned and smiled at me.

"Oh, parting is such sweet sorrow." She sighed dramatically, as I chuckled a bit and sighed dramatically back.

"Oh, but we will see each other soon, my dear. And we will meet again in English." I replied in an old English accent, as she giggled and nodded.

"Alright, see you soon!" She replied and walked into her class. I stepped away from the door and began to head to U.S. History. I stuffed my hands into my overall's pockets, playing with the bolt I left in there last time I wore them.

The whole stroll there I couldn't get Dasom out of my mind. Her whole personality had me head-over-heels and that made me nervous. I've never developed feelings this quickly for someone, as I usually kept my love-life reserved and calm. This whole whirl wind of emotions had my head all fucked up and I wasn't sure if I enjoyed it or was terrified of it.

Well, I guess time will tell.
