Chapter 9

(Alpha Mason's pov)

My office was a mess..

Papers were littered everywhere... Being an Alpha can be very stressful.. dealing with paperwork and pack problems and don't even get me started about my situation with my mate..

Words have started to go round that I must have killed my mate on the night I saw her... Goddess, it's really funny when I think of it. To think that's the level of how I can be ruthless is nourishing..I like people to be scared of me..

I was cut off from my thinking when I heard a knock on the door

"Yeah come in"..

The door knob turned and Simon walked in..

"Alpha,I have information on your mate" he dropped a file on my desk

"It's about time,what do you have" I said taking the paper and reading through. I dropped it wanting him to talk

"Well, we have located where she stays. She is the only pup of her parents"

"Okay, so why have you guys not gotten her here yet"

"I wanted to give you the information before I take actions of bringing her"

I laughed when he said that

" So tell me what was the reason of this search I told you to do,is it not to bring her here"

" I know but I.."

" But you nothing. Go and bring her here now" I ordered

He left my office. I relaxed on my chair.

(Octavias pov)

Opening my eyes,I was blinded by lights. I shut it from the impact and rubbed my eyes as I stood up...

Walking down  the stairs I heard voices and my heart spiked again....

Oh goddess this can't be happening to me again,are they here for me already...I peeked and saw it was my parents talking...

"Hey Octavia you are awake" mum said turning around to look at me

"Uhmm yes mum I am"

"So I and your father will be going out...you stay indoors and lock all the doors" she instructed as she grabbed her bag from the table.....I laughed

"Of course I will mother" especially now I thought...

"Bye, Octavia" dad said as they reached the door,he turned the doorknob and pulled the door open,there was shock written all over his face...I peeked towards the door and my heart went to my throat...

My dad came face to face with royal guards but thank God they couldn't see me because the wall was blocking their view....

"What's going on guards..what are you doing here" dad inquired

"Good afternoon Mr Matt, we are here to take your daughter to the Alpha" a guard spoke

"Why will you take my  daughter,did she do anything,did  she commit a crime" mum spoke up staring daggers at the guard

"No worries ma'am, she did not commit any crime,we are just taking her in"

" Taking her in to where,you can't just come here and take my daughter and not tell me what's wrong"

By this time I did not know what to do I was so confused...they have found me, I will be taken to him..... goddess what will I do

"Ma'am, Sir...your daughter is Alpha Mason's mate and he has been searching for her" the guard spoke up

The house fell dead silent, no one said a word.....I looked over to my parents and shock was written all over them...my mum held her chest and reached out to my dad who caught her and slowly lowered her to the chair.....

The guards were looking on as my dad went to the kitchen to get a glass of water for mum... giving her the glass she drank it in one go.....the guard grew restless

"Sir is your daughter in,we don't have much time" he said

"Am coming let me go and get her" mum said standing up....at this point I had started moving towards a narrow passage between the stairs,that's where mum caught me

"We have to hide you now" she grabbed my hand and pushed me towards the door,it was the basement....she acted fast she turned the door knob and pushed me inside

"Mum I can explain" I turned to her

"Not now Octavia,you have to run and hide....I can't believe you never told me,but that will be a story for another day,now take this hood'...she grabbed a hood from a stand and shoved it in my hand..'follow this way and take the next bend,it will lead you to a door,that's the way out...for now I and your dad will stall them..Now Go" she ordered

"But mum where will I go to" I couldn't just grasp what was going on now,am leaving the house with royal guards at my front door what if they catch me, what if they are right behind that door and I open it only to be caught,what if....

"Hey hey" mum snapped her fingers to bring me out of my thoughts

"You'll be okay dear just go to where you know it's safe" she held me and pushed me forward

"Go go we have wasted enough time they might begin to suspect"

"Okay mum see you Soon" I moved forward and headed to the door, thinking that am doing all this just because I have found my mate.....

(POV)

Making sure her daughter has a distance, she wiped a stray tear and walked back to meet her husband and the guards...They looked like they were about to pounce on her husband until they sighted Olivia.

"Where is your daughter ma'am,we are really getting impatient" the guard spoke up

"I searched everywhere but I couldn't find her, she might be out" Olivia said this keeping her face neutral....the guard looked at Olivia intently, staring daggers at her trying to read her face.....she looked at him with the same intensity....Then he burst out laughing shocking all of them in the room

"Ma'am do you think am stupid...you took time in search of your daughter keeping us here while your husband tried to stall us, I let you guys play your game and it's ended...so now am going to use force but before that.' he turned to the other guards at the door 'search every corner in the house, turn the house upside down if need be and bring her, that's if you find her' he winked at her

Goddess how will she have thought that she could fool them, of course he will know that the hid her...he's just playing this searching game for fun....

(Octavia's pov)

I kept on speed walking through the narrow basement, the more I took a bend the more it got denser and smaller, I was bent towards my knees, bending my back to the lowest was really taking it's toll on me. Fuck! I can't believe I have been subjected to this,I just hope my parents are okay....where is that fucking door,damn it! 'Am finding it difficult to breath,I might just die here and end this charade.

The thought of dying here and leaving my skeleton as a welcome party for my search party made me laugh out hard.....i just choked on my own laughter..psst!

Focus, Octavia, focus, no thought of dying yet.

I looked straight ahead and goddess,if I did not feel relief I must be lying. I released the breath I hadn't knew I was holding and headed straight for the door. Holding the door knob I hesitated,what if they were just outside this door and waiting for me to act on my foolishness and just run straight into their hands.

There's no way to find out if I don't open the door.

I turned the door knob quietly and took a deep breath before pulling it slightly open,I peeked outside, only one of my eyeball showing through the opening of the door and luckily, no one was there, paranoid Octavia.....

I opened the door fully and stepped out and I noticed I was quite a distance from my house,I could still see the house and the figures of the guards at my front porch but they couldn't see me cause I was camouflaged by trees...

Setting my mind in gear, I took off running to wherever my legs carried me, instinct made me stop and turn back to look at my house one last time, cause I don't know when I will be coming back to my home knowing that they know where I live and not wanting to put my parents in danger, I prayed....

"Mum, Dad, everything is going to be fine,take care" after saying this and hoping that the goddess will keep my parents safe,I turned around and quietly ran out of my camouflaged zone...The Forest.
