Chapter 10

I turn around to find my father unconsious on the floot with Scott standing over him, dry blood on the edge of the baseball bat he is holding. I run over and grab the bat just before it hits my mother, swinging it through the air, straight for his leg. I hear a loud crack just before he landed on his one knee. I can see blood pouring from his other and bone sticking out. Sattisfied, I walk ovet to him and whisper in his ear, hoping he could hear me. The fear and shock in his eyes tell me he can. " This is what you get for killing me out of jealousy and rage. You had no true reason to do what you did, now you will get what you deserve.". Jeremy comes over and grabs my hands seconds before I snap Scott's head. "This is not worth it, let him rot in jail for the rest of his life! He deserves that, rather than sudden death with almost no suffering." Jeremy says with pure venom spitting Scott's way. I realize he is right. Meanwhile my mom called the cops without my knowing about it, sudden sirens and flashing lights is a clear indication that she did. They come storming in, immediatly handcuffing Scott and reading him his rights. A few minutes after that, paramedics came rushing in for my father, racing him to the ambulance. They say he has minor injuries, but need to be checked at the hospital for concussions. I sigh a relieve and run to my mom, hugging her tightly. She gasps in shock when I remembered she can't see me. It's over. This whole nightmare is over. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to face Jeremy, looking at me with guilt. "I really did not mean to hurt you, he said he would pay for my mom's hospital bills but he betra..." I cut him off by jumping on him and kissing him with passion. He froze for a few seconds and I fear I overstepped, but then he kisses me back with the same passion. "Well, I can cross that off my bucket list" he says smiling cheeckely. "Cross what off your bucket list?" I ask curiously. "Kissing a ghost after I've almost been murdered" he says shaking his head as if to shake a bad thought.

Then the light is there. This bright, beautiful light, and my grandma appears. My mom gasps and runs over to her, hugging her tight. Then she turns around and looks me straight in the eyes.

" My dear Casey, I missed you so much! Your smile, your warm beautiful eyes, those goodmorning hugs and kisses, I've missed everything about you and know I always will, until we meet again. But I know what this means. You have to go now, go with gran and wait for us please. Don't forget us. Go and be happy. We will look after Jeremy while you wait, I promise. I love you my baby girl." tears rolling down her cheecks, but a happy smile on her face.

"I missed you to mom. I will never forget you! And I will wait, but patiently. Take your time and enjoy your life for as long as you have one. Jeremy?" I turn to him and smile. "Oh Jeremy, I fell for you within a few hours, I never thought a dead girl could feel, but I do, I feel something for you. I love you all so much. I can't wait to have you all with me, but I will. See you soon guys" I say with a huge grin on my face and happy tears rolling down my cheeck. I step towards the light, turning around at the edge and waving at them one last time, then I'm gone from their sight, holding my gran's hand. It had such a good ending. I caught my killer. I met someone amazing, even though he betrayed me, he had good reason to. I would have done the same to save my family. I made mom and dad happy by showing them that I'm fine. All thanks to Jeremy.

"You ready for heaven my child?" my gran asks.

"As ready as I will ever be" I step through the golden gates and onto a beautiful meadow with wild flowers and butterflies. A few feet away is my grandpa, finally I get to meet him!
