"You fail!"

Entering the gates of the second exam, two examiners were seen.
"Hello contestants! We are your second phase examiners, Menchi and Buhara!" A woman with green hair said. She wore a see through maroon shirt that revealed her black bra.
Suddenly a loud rumble came shaking the grounds. Menchi looked to her parter "seems as if your hungry?" She asked
He smiled "sure am! I could eat for days!" He bragged but not in a bad way.
"Alright! Then I guess our second phase shall be cooking!" She announced as the contestants began to get angry. "What would you like?"
"Pork!" He cheered and Menchi clapped her hands "the main dish shall be pork!"
Some of the contestants decided to argue but Menchi and buhara paid no mind because they were the examiners.
"Let's go!!" Vera cheered running off first followed by her friends, then the rest of the examiners.
She cheered as they fell/rolled down a hill. Gon first, but on his way down he stopped at the end. The others had already went so it caused a chain reaction.
Vera slammed into Gon and yelped "Ow!" Then Killua into Vera, "hey! Stop coming down!" Vera yelled.
Then Kurapika rammed into Killua and lastly Leorio.
"Gon what the hell!" Killua growled.
"Found em" Gon pointed towards the many pigs, but- they were eating bones.
"They're... Carnivores?" Kurapika sweat dropped.
Vera stood up and started chasing one "HEY C'MERE!!" She called.
"Vera I don't think that's going to work!" Gon yelled getting up and helping Killua.
"Baka." Killua face palmed as Vera was now the one being chased.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" She cursed she quickly took out some sort of grappling hook from her bag and shot up at a tree branch, the hook wrapped around and she flew with it. She then flipped over the branch and landed on top of the pig.
"Hey! Look I did it!" She yelled riding the pig.
"Yea but you have to kill it!" Leorio informed her and she blinked 'oh'
She retract her grappling hook but accidentally dropped it "oops" and it landed right on top off the pigs head and suddenly it died.
"Oh! Guys! Their weak spot is their forehead!" She called as the three stood in realization.
"Oh! Their snout is there for head protection! So just hit the head and it will die.!" Gon realized as the others listened in and began to kill theirs.
Vera quickly got off of hers and picked up her pig running back to the exam sight.
She was first to come back taking Menchi by surprise, because of her small figure and lithe body they for sure thought she would be last.
She began prepping the pork creating pork chops cause that's all she knew how to do. (Me too girl)
She cut the pig as the oil boiled on the side stove. She went into her bag and took out a special home made seasoning she carries around all the time and put it all over the pork.
Then she took the pork and coated in it flower. Taking a small pinch of flower in her finger and dropping it in the oil.
The flower sizzled signifying the oil was ready. She then gently placed in the raw pork chops inside of the pot.
Most of the contestants had already finished their dishes. Buhara passed each person while Menchi on the other hand failed each and every one.
Then it was Vera's turn. She walked up with two dishes of fried pork chops and placed in front of each examiner.
"Chef kiss level of cooking" she bragged placing hands on her hips.
Menchi, for once, took a bit of the food while Buhara gulped it down immediately passing her,
"With a little more practice you could have the perfect fried pork chop" Menchi complimented making Vera smile.
"So I-"
"You failed!" Menchi yelled throwing the plate. Vera lowered her head and walked to the corner with her friends.
"We all failed" Gon put a hand on her shoulder sulking with her.
"Stop being such babies, she's being unfair dont you see?" Killua placed his hands behind his head rolling his eyes.
"You failed too!" They both yelled at him and he scoffed.
Next thing you know a whole ass ... plane? ... thing.. I forget what it's called (edit: I know now, it's a blimp) flew down and out jumped an old man.
"Who's the old geezer?" Vera tilted her head to the side while others questioned the amount of brain cells she has.
He had a small conversation with Machi that Vera decided to tune out because she knew how to mind her business.
"Okay! You all can retake the hunter exam second phase! Chairmen, can you take us up to the mountain?" She asked with a slight smirk chairmen returned.
"Of course." He stated simply.

Menchi was thrown back up from off the cliff with a spiders egg in his hand. "And with this!" She twirled it on her finger placing a hand on her hip "you'll make boiled eggs!"
Everyone looked at her then down at the cliff thinking it would be easy.
"I've been waiting for this type of thrill WOO HOO!" Vera cheered jumping down first waving her hands.
Then Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio followed laughing at their friend.
Soon everyone else jumped down without waiting for Menchi.
Vera grabbed onto a web looking at the floor below her. Soon Gon and Killua landed beside her followed by Kurapika and Leorio.
Some of the contestants jumped but no wind came for them to make their way back up.
"Let's go!" Leorio yelled eager to finish this phase.
"Hold on! Not yet" Gon warned. Vera glanced at Gon on her left then to Killua who was on her right, then she looked at Kurapika and Leorio who were next to Killua.
Gon sniffed the air "wait for it.."
"Fuck it! Yolo" Vera yelled laughing and letting go.
"Vera no! Not yet!" Gon yelled in worry.
Vera flew down and grabbed her egg "see ya back up there!" She called as the males looked at her with worry.
"Guess she's dead" Killua nonchalantly stated as Gon looked like he was on the verge of breaking.
"Now!" Gon yelled as they let go. They each grabbed their egg and fell down. The others copied what they did and soon were all sent back up to the top.
Vera on the other hand was already sitting up there halfway done her boiled egg.
"You guys HAVE to try this it's so good!" She yelled as they looked at her wide eyed.
"Vera!!" Gon cheered and Killua huffed.
"Your alive I guess" Killua rolled his eyes though in all honesty he was relieved.
"Hurry up and boil your eggs!" She yelled

Everyone was scarfing down their newly boiled dream eggs.
"I can see where they get their name from" Kurapika said taking multiple bites.
Vera frowned cause she had already finished hers, then she got an idea.
"Kurapika~" she cheered jumping up towards the said male.
"CanihavesomeofyourdreameggspleaseiknowthatsoundswrongjustignoreitPLEAS"
"Huh? The egg?" He asked and she vigorously nodded "fine here" he broke it in half and gave her some before patting her head.
"EE THANK YOU YOUR THE BEST I LOVE U" she yelled giving him a hug then skipping away,
"...wha-" Kurapika faintly blushed looking at the girl. Even though she meant it in a joking way it still meant a lot to him.
"YOUR SUCH A GREAT FRIEND!" She cheered as she continued skipping.
He blinked in response.

42 Candidates remain.
(I'll start following the actual show now..)
"I will now take the opportunity to introduce myself to the 42 remaining applicants." The old man who came from the plane said "I am Netero, the Chairman of the selection Committee for this years hunter exam. It is a pleasure to meet you all."
"And I'm his secretary Bean!" The green bean said as Vera awed.
"I was not planning to show my face until the last stage however, seeing how I'm already here.." he examined the people in the room before continuing "I have to admit, I love the feeling of tension in the air."
Killua yawned bored while Vera played with her feet.
"I think I'll stick around for the rest of the exam." He laughed.
"We are scheduled to arrive at our destination tomorrow morning at 8am! Youll find dinner waiting in the dinning hall. Your also welcomed to get some rest of course free to do as you please" the bean announced.
"Hey Gon, Vera, let's go explore the airship!" Killua said.
"Yea! I'm down" Vera nodded as the three of them started to run off before stopping.
"Kurapika, Leorio, you guys wanna come?" Gon asked
"No thanks, we'll be resting" Kurapika waved.

"HEY KIDS STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN" one of the chefs yelled as the three musketeers ran out holding food.
They giggled eating the food and running away from the angry chef.
"Hey look at that" Vera said walking up to a window. "So pretty" she gawked "come look!"
The two boys ran up next to her and looked over the down awed.
"Woah! It's like it's covered in jewels!" Gon smiled
"I know right!" Killua smiled.
Vera sat down on the seat as she continued to stargaze, her arms crossed on the counter in front of them.
"Hey, I was wondering.." Gon started and sat down on her right followed by Killua on her left.
"Your parents? Are they- I mean, Where are they?" He asked curiously.
Vera and Killua exchanged looked deciding who would go first. Killua lost as Vera laughed "HAHA looser"
He rolled his eyes
"They're alive .. probably" Killua started.
"What do they do?" Gon asked a follow up.
"They're assassins."
"HAH?" Vera exclaimed as Gon asked ANOTHER question "for real? Both of them?"
Killua blinked then started giggling which turned into a fit of laughter "that's your guys' responses!? HAHAH you guys are really funny!" He leaned on his hand "your not the first I've told but you Guys are you the first to take it seriously"
"But it's true isn't it?" Vera tilted her head and Killua's laughter came to a stop.
"Why do you think that?" He looked at them with his big blue orbs.
"Just a hunch.." she trailed off.
"Weird..." Killua groaned "most of the time people only like me cause they can't tell if I'm serious or not.."
...
"I'm from a family of assassins so yea, they're all in the buisness. And my entire family, they have real high hopes for me.." he closed his eyes before opening them again with a straight face "but that's not what I wanna do.."
"Well if it's not what you wanted- I'm guessing you ran away?" Vera asked
"Yea pretty much.. when I told them I wanted to decide my own future they FREAKED! My mom was crying and screaming about how I could be a top assasin!" Gon started to laugh nervously "no wonder their kids are all rotten! Then we started fighting so I slashed my mom in the face, my brother in the side, and ran away from home!"
"DAMN STRAIGHT!" Vera yelled high fiving Killua and Gon laughed in the back.
"If they come after me I'll kill em!" He said then a sparkly aura emitted from him "when I get my license I'll hunt em down to the last one! I'm willing to bet they have pretty heavy bounty's on them!~" he cooed.
Vera felt someone staring at them but she shook it off for the time being.
"What about you Vera?" Gon asked
"Yea, I've been meaning to ask about that mask you continuously Wear, we haven't even seen you without it" Killua added.
She sweatdropped "well, it's a long story but I guess you have the right to know since you both shared so willingly" she laughed nervously as they both stared at her with big eyes making her self conscious.
A blush crept to her cheeks as they continued to stare at her "ohmygodstopstaringitsscary"
They blinked not understanding. She took a deep breath and took off her mask revealing a large red-ish burn mark that spread across the bottom of her face. (Imagine dabi's scar ;))
"Woah! That's so cool!" Gon awed with sparkles in his eyes. She was taken back by the sudden compliment and nervously smiled.
"How'd you get that?" Killua asked also staring in amusement.
"Well you see, my name is Vera Violta from the Violta family." She stated
"The violta's!?" Killua yelled "like thee Violta famous hunter family?" He repeated.
"Uhm, yea basically call it what you want but it's no family to me" she sighed
"What do you mean?" Gon leaned on his hand.
"Well, I was next in line for head of the family but I didn't exactly want that. Responsibilities" she gaged and the males laughed a bit "and I told that to my family exactly two years ago" she held up two fingers "in those two years they made my life a living hell"
They stared at her in confusion so she sighed going into more detail "abuse, mental and physical. This 'burn' came from my mother. She practically lit me on fire but I was able to put it out in time. Sadly my face was the only part that wouldn't heal, so I was no longer fit for queen" she looked down but they both just stood in silence and utter shock.
"She said I looked disgusting so forced me to keep this on, So you know I ran away from home!" She said trying to lighten the mood.
"Don't go home." Gon stated bluntly "you shouldn't go home, ever." He repeated
"Yea, maybe after the exam we could all just stick together you know.." Killua stated but when the two looked at them he did a whole 180 "N-NOT THAT I CARE- I mean in a general way" he rubbed his neck as a blush crept to his cheeks.
Gon and Vera exchanged looks then their giggles turned it to loud laughs.
"D-DONT LAUGH AT ME!" Killua yelled waving his hands as they continued laughing.
