Suffering

In the midst of silence came roaring sounds of blasting cannons, screams of courageous soldiers dieing on the battlefield, the spread of blood caked across the ground, striking sound of weapons being clashed with one another as the roars of war rage throughout the open meadow. Where the wind would blow softly, the fresh green grass move as if it was hair flowing through the wind. The sky glistened with the brilliant light blue color and the sun's shinning down towards the ground below with its warmth. the beauty of the luscious snowy white roses within the grass. All of that peace from that area turned to dark. The grass crushed beneath the feet of running soilders. Patches of blood stained the green of the grass along with all the casualties, lost limbs of these brave soldiers. The once white beauty of the rose stained with the flicker of red blood. All the violence, all the screams, all of the pain and suffering of those caught within this bloodshed. I could hear it all. It was like the picture was painted in my brain through the sounds of all the chaos. The most recent and repeating sound that I was hearing was the pounding gallops of two horses below me. Was I dead? I couldn't breath or speak. I couldn't feel anything in my body except the slow steady pace of my heartbeat. Why couldn't I move? Why can I still see everything when my eyes are closed tightly? I felt like a deadman just laying there with no way of know if I would live to see the light again through the darkside of this painful and cruel sight that I somehow was seeing. I could not stop myself from having all these questions piled in my head as the area around me continued to grow all the same. War in the back, the gallops of the horses beneath me, the suffering of these lives on the field, sorounded by bloodshed and death at every edge of that once peaceful field. All of my questions and thoughts were interupted by silence. The sound of gallops stopped, the war stopped, everything around me stopped. There was only dark and silence. A deep rush of wind was blown from the inside a dark hole in the heart of some sort of forest. The wind blew softly in my face, I heard a deep far away growl come from the hole. To my understanding, I was in front of this hole that was only a few inches away. I could feel the warmth of someone else holding my body close to theirs. I start to hear the muffled sound of two people having a conversation before I start to sense something else. something 40 times bigger than what I was expecting to sense. everything went silent again only to hear a low growl from the darkness in front of me. I hear footsteps walking towards the darkness of this hole. Then there was only dark. pitch black all around. I wondered to myself if I was actually dead this time and that I've gone to hell, which I found to be odd considering everything that has been happening so far. Out of the darkness, I see some sort of light. I try reaching for it only to remember that I could not move. I feel a sense of rushing wind blowing in my face. Then I see something different. There were cracks in the darkness. The cracks were scaly and a slightly lighter shade of black. The cracks started to move. I now realize that those weren't just any cracks in the darkness, it was the skin of a huge reptile like creature. After that, I saw the beauty of a mighty beasts eye looking at me. The shades of a darker to a slightly lighter midnight purple glowed within the dark. I felt the warmth of this beasts breath against my cold dead like skin. This beast seemed to be 50 to 60 feet long and around 30 to 40 feet tall from what I could see. perfectly shaped wings that were as long and as wide as the beast itself. Sharp twisted horns, large feet and legs. Spikes shaped a little bit like its horn stuck out of the back of its neck all the way down to its back and to almost the tip of its tail. Talons shining and sharp enough to cut through 5 mountains or more. Its raser sharp teeth, the shape of its face, and those eyes. The eyes that could pierce through Satan's soul. That glare the beast gives off. Almost the look of staring directly at deaths door. This was no mere beast, this was a mighty, strong, terrifying looking Dragon. the most fascinating one I've ever seen. Still unable to understand why I could see and sense everything around me was still a mystery, I continue to be fascinated by this amazing looking dragon as it lifts its head up to look at me. I could almost imagine how powerful this Dragons roar and brute strength really is. For a long while I stared at the beast, even if my eyes were glued shut. After staring for an eternity, my mind filled with questions on why I would see so clearly when it was very clear that I was not awake one bit. Before I could even think about the questions in my head, I felt a cold chill on my back. I feel the cold rush throughout my body, making me feel colder by the minute. Is this how it ends? Do I die from being abandoned? All of a sudden I feel heat against my skin. hot breath blew against my skin as I had warmed up from just one breath. I felt a sharp bit of light pain on my chest. Then everything I was seeing turned to flashes of light along with pictures filling my head. A sudden breath of air filled my lungs as I breathed in for the first time. I could feel my body begin to move. I was so happy that I had begun to cry. I knew what went down. When I began to feel my body move, the sharp talon on my chest was gone. The beasts presence was gone. Yet I felt its soul like it was my own. I knew. When I opened my eyes for the first time to look at what I assume to be my parents, only one expression was on their faces. Fear. From that very first look, I knew, that this is one expression that would be around for as long as I'm here. As long as I live. Fear was the only thing that would affect my life with my family. One look. That was all it took for my life to turn to the worst. This is how it all started. With one very powerful dragon.
