Chapter 83. The Prison and The Child II

"There is no need to be scared of me, child. I will free you from this torture."

The Queen's warm and gentle voice reached the young boy, lying prone on the floor. His head buzzed, making him not comprehend much of what was spoken to him. He flinched and wearily raised his head. The darkness spreading inside the cell and the tears floating in his eyes made it impossible to see who was there.

The child's heart seemed to have closed after all the torture and harrassment by the guards. He was so afraid of everything that he tried to hide himself with his hands but he couldn't and only whimpered more.

The Queen's kind heart was not able to bear the scene. She frowned in pain. She put a smile on her face, "I will not harm you, child. Please talk to me." She extended her hand but didn't touch the boy's head - afraid to scare him away even more.
