Everyone in the room went silent. Hua Meimei blinked her eyes at her brother. Hua Jun and his wife looked shocked that he figured it out so quickly.
"Parents? You mean.....they are my father and mother?" Hua Meimei asked him with a myriad of emotions in her eyes - sadness, wonder and finally joy.
"Yes my darling child, we finally found you after 14 years of searching. We got news from the hospital today and immediately rushed over." Ling Xiu said as she hugged her long-lost daughter and the tears that she held back all these years came out. Soon Meimei also started tearing up feeling the warm embrace that she lacked all these years.
"14 Years!" Ling Hong was shocked. He could imagine how cruel the world had been to them all these years. He too had once waited for his parents for years, only for them to be found dead in the previous life. Turning towards the man, who was looking at his wife and child with a gratified expression, he decided to enquire more.
"Sir, may I ask your name and about how you found her?" he asked.
"Blue Ocean Group's Chairman, Hua Jun." he replied. "I got a call from an old friend and recognized that it was similar to our missing child. So we rushed right over."
"Blue Ocean Group?" Ling Hong pondered as he found the name familiar.
'Blue Ocean Group....14 Years....a missing child? Strange I seem to remember something familiar.' he thought. After a few seconds, he came to a realization and opened his mouth in shock.
"The Missing Princess Case!" he exclaimed.
"How do you know that?" Hua Jun was surprised. The news regarding the event had vanished as years passed by, so there were very few who remembered it.
"Uh I'm sure you have probably collected my information from somewhere. I lived in the New Hope Orphanage till 15 and every year there would be someone coming to donate money and check if the missing girl was found in the orphanage." he replied.
The more he talked about with the young man, the more he was impressed. He suddenly remembered how this was once a bright kid with great prospects only to lose everything out of the blue.
"I heard that you had some problem with your brain after the accident that made you lose the future you aimed for. But it seems you're fine now?" he enquired.
"Grandma Chen managed to healed me. Fortunately it's gone now" Ling Hong replied with a smile.
Hearing this, the Hua couple abruptly stopped their actions before looking at each other with a bitter expression. Ling Hong was puzzled by their reaction, he did not have any ties to them so why would they care about it? Noticing his expression, they turned to him and explained the situation.
"Actually Meimei is not our only daughter, we have another daughter named Meiling! They are fraternal twins." he explained.
"I have a sister?" Hua Meimei was ecstatic in her mother's embrace, not only did she find her family but it seemed that she also had a sister to play with.
Nodding quietly, Hua Jun continued, "The reason I found out about you both is actually related to Meiling. She was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease when she was 8. According to the doctors, unless we can find a cure or find someone with extremely strong immunity and same blood type as her to transfuse blood to suppress the disease. If we can't find a solution within 4 years, she will die!"
Ling Hong finally understood their intention. He said "If I am right, the doctor noticed our strong immunity during blood tests and notified you because Xiao Mei has the same blood as her. So you found her details and coincidentally realized that she was your long lost daughter. The reason you asked me is because I too had a miraculous recovery and you hoped there was another way of curing her disease."
Hua Hun sighed, "At first we just wanted to meet our daughter, but then Director Liang from the hospital said that there was a chance that the Grandma Chen mentioned in your files could be the retired Miracle Physician Chen Zhi. We gave up on the idea since we found that she.....was no longer around."
The couple had initially thought it to be heavens blessing for all their problems to be solved in a flash. But now it seemed that their daughter could only have her life extended, they would probably never find a cure.
Hearing the explanation, Ling Hong nodded and replied "Grandma had told me she used to be a well known physician. Because she was old and couldn't exert too much energy anymore, she came here to research on medicines."
"Ai, if it were a few years earlier we could've had a chance to completely cure our Meiling. It seems our family is destined to carry bad luck all our lives." Hua Jun remarked sadly.
Ling Hong had mastered multiple medical skills in his previous life, so when he learnt that the girl had such a disease he guessed that he may be able to save her. Seeing the plight of the family and since the girl was also the blood sister of his only family member, he decided to lend a hand.
"It's not entirely impossible to cure her" he suddenly spoke. "I have learned medicinal practice from grandma for over a year. If....IF the disease is similar to the one which is recorded in her notes, I can attempt to cure her if you give permission."
Just as the words left his mouth, he was greeted by the sound of teacups shattering.
