Erza answered in affirmative about Sakura and me meeting with her in Erza's Dorm Room. I felt a little odd. I got a very strange impression on it.
If noticed correctly, she is Definitely not the type to agree when it comes to her private life , when comes to a stranger. Well, I just got a vague idea about her personality when She talked with Horikita.
Also, since I was observing her. I sensed a kind of aura, which made me suspect her, being dubious about me. As sharp as she is, I could think of only one possibility.
She knows what I am upto.
Though, for now what she ll be of use, I dont know, yet. But, a very secretive person, at the very least.
I was 'carelessly' sitting on my chair. Focused on the class environment. Everyone was leading the day of their school life. Ofcourse one should. Not that I neglect that sort of Thinking.
Some were doing their own work. Erza was reading something. Horikita was going through some notes. Sakura...well I got a vague idea of what she was doing? Maybe she was , smiling while looking at her mobile? Must be her significant other, or something.
But the thing which was bothering me was the 'Point system' and all also the 'Gradation System'.
For Point System, what we were told was ; 100,000 points were given to each student at the beginning of the semester. One can buy anything in the school grounds as long as its legal. ANYTHING. Though, it will renew, periodically. PERIODICALLY. An individual may spend it however way they want. Seems alright for now. Pretty normal right?
Lets see this in some other way.
Why would the school spent 100,000 points which equals to 100,000 Yen to each individual student. In any sense, the thing is there is no 'Profit' over these actions. Does this shows, this school gives Students a sort of 'Freedom' ? Why would the government do something so irresponsible?
Well, more suspicious is the fact that, it will renew periodically. In every Month? In every 2-3 months? There should be some kind of connection.
"Ayanokouji..."
My eyes were left wide-opened. As I gazed towards the owner of the voice, Horikita, through the corner of my eyes.
"Yea?"
"You were frowning slightly , and sat still for about 10 mins". Horikita said with her still unwavering face. CALCULATIVE.
"....Really?" I asked, even though it was evident I got lost in my thought.
"Your pupils became dilated" She turned her face forwards as she continued. "Are you focusing on something irrelevant? If you are , I might want you to put a stop to it."
"Why does it matter?" I asked with no interest. First, why are we even having a conversation. I thought she doesnt like being too familiar with people.
"Homeroom teacher will come soon."
Ms. Chabashira entered. With her usual detached facial expression.
"Good morning students, as you can see this is your second most day in this Elite Academy". She put the materials from her hands on the table beside the podium. "Today, I ll be giving out , the basic materials of The Examination Schedule."
Upon hearing, the whole class went into chaos.
Hirata spoke. "Teacher, but its not even a day we came. How are we supposed to prepare?" As expected from the class head.
"Yes..Ms. Chabashira, shouldnt we get atleast 2 months to prepare?" Kushida enquired. True, atleast 1.5 to 2 months.
Ms. Chabashira didnt move her lips. Soon the class fell pin-drop silence.
"Students, I want you to hear me out properly this time, without any interference. After that, I ll solve your doubts." She rested her body on the podium.
I glanced at Horikita. As usual, since she is a Good student, she wouldnt have any problems regarding any Tests, right?
"The Examination, will just be a 'dry-run' test. Thus, the marks will not be claimed to your report cards. So you dont have to worry."
Someone rose their hand up.
"Can we know the date of the examination held?"
"Since it was supposed to be a surprise test, based on the syllabus on the 'Entrance Examination' , it should probably be held today ; The very next period."
Most of them shouted "Whattt!!???"
Some were trying to settle things down.
"Guys chill...its a dry-run test remember? It wont affect our Report Cards!"
Then what is the point of taking this examination? Do they want to see how much mentally prepared we are? Skeptical. Its so hard to understand, whats going on into these authority's mind.
I gazed upon Erza from the corner of my eyes. I dont care if she caughts me glancing or Staring. She is also doing the same. Obviously.
Looking at her , I saw her eyes being dark, as she glared. Eyes following Ms. Chabashira's movements.
Don't tell me she finds her , dubious too?
I stared at her, while keeping my arms on the desk supporting my hand, which was covering my mouth.
Guess, she doesnt feel me staring.
Huh?
She...is smirking. I am more amused by your 'going on' thoughts than the situation , Erza Wistaria.
[Erza POV]
(After entering the class)
Well I did say, 'okay' with the fact Ayanokouji will be coming to the class. I will get to know, either way his thoughts. So I am not gonna worry about that.
I sat on my chair and took my Mobile. I started reading the light novel of 'Fairy Tail' Yes, I like Fantasy. But lets not Think about it now.
It might look, I was reading, but I had my thoughts some other way. Just in case, IF someone was observing me.
Most importantly, what's up with the 'Grading System' ? Suspiciously annoying.
Coming to the real thing, the 'Grading System' and the 'Point System'.
The 'Grading System' , where the teachers imply, the methods and criterion for Gradation is unknown to them. Alright let us assume that statement correct. Then? What's the issue with having a Homeroom Teacher? If thinking about it minutely, the role which a Homeroom Teacher should have are given to the higher authority.
But then another question arrives, what role then, the HR Teacher plays in the institution? Are they just a pawn to look after students? No, there must be more to that.
If the above was to be the case, then the teachers, who would've been in school, doesn't necessarily have to be someone who is Highly 'Qualified' to be a teacher. An ordinary would do. Since , the only thing they would perform was to be a Middle man between the Higher Authority and the Students, respectively.
I was focusing more than usual into the matter. So little information, though so many Questions. Not even a single 'Hint'.
I sighed. This is troublesome. I need to focus more. Focus. Something should be there, there should be a little hint. Damn--
Suddenly, I heard Ms. Chabashira's voice. When did 'she' come? How ghostly....
"Today, I ll be giving out , the basic materials of The Examination Schedule." She spoke out. Really, whatever she speaks of...is dubious and intentional.
Hirata asked about 'Early Preparations' for the Exam, whereas, Kushida spoke about how we , students should get a little time to prepare ourselves.
Very usual, for the ' Unintentional Attention Seekers' Of the class. Well, for Hirata it maybe 'unintentional' but I cant guarantee with the fact with 'Kushida'.
No. Lets focus on the 'System' for now.
Any hint?
The classroom got quiet.
"Students, I want you to hear me out properly this time, without any interference. After that, I ll solve your doubts." With a pause she continued.
"The Examination, will just be a 'dry-run' test. Thus, the marks will not be claimed to your report cards. So you dont have to worry."
What is that Examination for? To understand us better? Or to Examine our Capabilities?
"..."
Wait...yes...To understand our capabilities. That must be it.
I can somehow connect the dots. Now, finally, I will have a Answer to the Questions.
Realising, the 'Answer' to my own 'Question' , made me suspect Ms. Chabashira Sae more.
Just who are you? What do 'You' know?
I was frowning at her words. Despicable. It was annoying. I, unknowing, glared at her.
"What an amusing indivisual you are 'Teacher'." is what I thought at that moment. I smirked.
My answers will be cleared the once, I ll get to hear Ayanokouji's words. Its only Day 2, but its already so interesting. I think I can look forward to the later 'Expecting the Unexpected' moments.
[Erza POV end]
The Homeroom ended with Ms. Chabashira, confessing the sudden Trial Examination.
While some students panicked. Some were taking it easy, since it was based on 'Entrance Examination' syllabus.
Well, for a student like me, who got 50/100 in the Entrance Examination, who barely passed, it was hectic, but still there were problems which were of higher standards. If I wanted I could've 'tried' , but taking no chances is best for situations like those.
Basically, I 'think' I can do better this time.
Taking Exams, after the new admissions , are so like an Elite Institution, isnt it?
Come to think of it, is there supposed to be any kind of connection between 'exams' and 'Point System'?
Why those two? Because, its an 'Intuition'. And I am highly considering it to be true. THINK ABOUT IT, a competitive school - exams - Grades - Promotion. Now, a system like 'Point System' - 'Gradation System' .
What if The Point System is a way to encourage students to do better in exams? Like a motivation? Could be it.
What if The Unfamiliar Gradation System is a way to examine the student's capability to choose whether they are capable of getting 'Points'?
But each individual's ability is different. Thus, much effort would have been given to this method. And to be very honest, I dont think The 'Higher ups' are too eager to spend all day related to points.
So, to keep it short and steady, it would need less students, less work. But since its an Elite School. Supposely, an A student is good at Sports and average in Academics. The School will get two options.
First, to keep that student because of his excellency in Sports.
Second, to expel A student because he will be considered as a rotten apple among the red apples in the basket.
But, what if there is a case , where there is competition between A student and B student which is highly qualified in Academics as well as Sports?
Who do you think the school will keep?
Ofcourse, the Brilliant B student. But the school will need a 'Valid' reason to put a danger mark on the A student.
If what I think is true. Then I can mark my points on the 'criteria' this 'Point System' and 'Gradation System' is based on.
The first period , which was the Trial Examination period, went off quite well. Taking up the situation, I wonder what The Examination will bring us upon.
Also, I wonder if Erza also noticed this. The way she was before ; I get the feeling of her getting an agreement on the 'System'. If this is true, then, Erza Wistaria, you really are on different level. You are exceeding my expectations.
We sure can discuss. But, judging by how you are, the feeling might not be mutual. But, I am looking forward.
I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Erza Wistaria." I mumbled softly. I slightly smirked under my hand.
