The following morning, Ana was awakened by the strong sunlight penetrating the window blinds. She turned to her side and was surprised to see Mevious on her side.
Realizing their nakedness, flashes of their lovemaking came crashing her mind. "Oh my god! What have I done?" she asked in her mind. "What will he think of me now? Ana, you're fucking stupid!"
Worried and ashamed, she slowly rolled out of bed but Mevious suddenly pulled her back to him. "Going somewhere?" Mevious groggily asked with his eyes closed. Ana gasped when Mevious buried his face on her naked neck.
"What are you doing?" Ana replied nervously. Mevious turned her to face him then planted a kiss on her forehead.
"I know you're full of questions but I can't answer them all now," he explained. Ana remained quiet.
Then his phone rang. He ended the call without checking who the caller was. However, it rang again.
"Well, good morning!" Mevious greeted without masking his sarcasm. "Sorry, mom! But... was the instruction not clear? I just want some privacy."
"It was and I'm sorry. I want you to listen carefully," Lady Amelia said. Her voice was so calm and dignified as always yet there was a sense of urgency and firmness. The voice she used only when there was chaos in the family.
"Can you give me a moment?" he said before ending the call. He turned to Ana who was listening quietly and gave her a peck on her lips.
"Don't wait for me. You can eat first," he said as he gathered his clothes scattered on the floor and put them in the laundry basket. After taking a quick shower, he went out.
Ana was left confused. She was still caught on the fact that she slept with him. Was she guilty? Maybe... maybe not. Did she regret giving herself to him? For a minute, she thought about it. Was she really regretting it? Ana let out a harsh sigh because, after a battle with her conscience, she finally admitted the fact that she didn't regret it. In fact, she loved every second of it.
Mevious went to Hanz's cottage. Hanz was surprised by his visit as Mevious didn't inform him about it. Nevertheless, he invited him in.
"What's the matter?" Hanz asked looking behind Mevious, perhaps looking for someone.
"She's not here," Mevious answered his quiet question.
"Hmmm... what brings you here, your highness?" Hanz jokingly mocked.
"Your highness, my ass! I wanna use your phone. Can I?" Mevious replied. Hanz looked at Mevious's phone in his hand and gave him a confused look. "Ah... low battery. Your house is closer than mine from the dock."
Still unconvinced, Hanz gave him permission. "It's on the table near the fridge," he said.
"Thanks. I will pay the bill," Mevious joked. Hanz chuckled nervously.
After almost five minutes on the phone, Mevious turned to Hanz who was reading a magazine near him. "Just send me the bill and I will take care of it," Mevious said.
"You want something to drink?" Hanz offered. Mevious nodded so he went to the kitchen and returned with two cups of coffee.
"Mmm...," Mevious enjoyed smelling the freshly brewed local coffee. "Thought you don't drink coffee?"
"You influenced me. You know I hated coffee before," Hanz said. Mevious chuckled.
"Is that so?" Mevious asked as he blew the hot brew and took a sip.
"Of course! Do you remember when you saved me from those gangsters? Since then, I was looking up to you. You are my hero, you know. I can't do anything to help you," Hanz told him.
Mevious put down the cup on the table and looked outside. The sun was shining so bright that day. The tall palm trees were framed the turquoise waters complimenting the blue sky with some cottony clouds like a photo taken by a skilled photographer.
"I am your hero, am I?" Mevious asked, looking directly into Hanz's eyes. Hanz immediately laughed nervously and looked down due to Mevious's serious face.
"Of- of course! Why kind of question is that?" Hanz asked but Mevious remained quiet while keeping his gaze at him. "Mevious, I wouldn't do anything to hurt you or betray you."
"Ever heard of the untouchables?" Mevious casually asked. Hanz was shocked and started fidgeting.
"What are you talking about?" Hanz asked, trying to mask his anxiousness.
"On c'mon, Hanz. Stop denying. How much does he pay you? How much is the price of your loyalty?" Mevious continued.
Hanz took a deep breath and exhaled harshly. "I don't know what you're talking about! Untouchables? What is fuck is that?" Hanz replied.
"This is your last chance, Hanz," Mevious said firmly. "Tell me the truth or I will blow your head right here."
Hanz laughed. "You can't! I know you can't coz you don't have balls!" he snapped. His nervousness transformed. He seemed like a tadpole quickly morphing into a vicious reptile, mocking Mevious repeatedly with his gestures.
"Look at yourself in the mirror," Mevious smirked. "What do you see?"
Hanz's eyes widened at the red dot on his forehead. And he began to sweat. "You're right! I don't have the balls to pull the trigger. Why should I do that when I can always ask someone to do it for me? Do you wanna know who's behind the trigger?"
Hanz became distraught. He paced. His face turned red in anger and became more annoyed at the fact that he couldn't do anything. One wrong move and a bullet would be planted on his head. He didn't want that. He must think of his way out. But Mevious had another plan.
