Chapter 16 - Baby Sitter for an Old Man

Today was the day that he would be free!

His mother looked at Jeffrey with a slight worry. She knew how naughty her son was. She couldn't help being worry about him.

Eden picked up Helen's bag and went outside to leave the mother and the son alone.

Helen sat on Jeffrey's bed as she stroked his fluffy hair.

"Jeff, I'm sorry that your father couldn't visit you," She glanced at him and gave him a warm smile. "He also wanted to see you, but he has too much work. We will visit you again next time."

Jeffrey nodded and hugged his mom. He smelled a nice fragrance that was emitted from his mother's body. The smell could instantly make him sleep. So warm and comfortable.

"It's okay, mom." Jeffrey let go of his hug. "I will be waiting for your visit with daddy."

Helen smiled and pecked his chubby cheek. "Good boy. Please don't be such a brassy, okay?"

Jeffrey laughed and nodded. He thought that his mom would already go back, but when her steps reached his door, she turned her head to Jeffrey and said, "Right. To keep you from doing anything dangerous, I will send you a baby sitter. Rest well, sweetheart."

The door closed and his mom left, yet Jeffrey still couldn't do anything as he likes.

Baby sitter? Was she kidding him? His soul should already reach 60 years old and baby sitter?

No way. Jeffrey wouldn't let that happen.

Anyways, since his mother left, it was the perfect time to start his daily quest.

The time was still at ten o'clock and the weather was too hot for him to go to the Northern Park. He decided to push up in his room.

Due to his steadily increased status, he could fasten up his daily quest.

In a couple of hours, he could finish the push-up quest. The remaining quest was only needed him to do sit up.

In another couple of hours, he already finished all the daily quest missions.

He was panting as he laid down on the floor and said, "Status."

Jeffrey then paused for a moment. What he needs to do to cure his illness was a cultivation skill from Page.

To do that, the cultivation requirement for earth energy was a must.

So, he gave it a thought. Since Page is still at her low level, asking her about it would be pointless.

If he added his ASP to energy, maybe it would be allowed him to cultivate the cultivation sooner.

Jeffrey stroked his chin and closed his eyes. He was deeply in thought to the point he didn't hear the knock on his door.

The door opened up and Kayla was shocked when she saw the little guy lying down on the floor.

"Soon as your mother went back, did you think you can do anything you like?"

Her voice was heard by Jeffrey and he quickly sat up. He said while smiling, "Sister Kayla? Where have you been, lately?"

A few days before, Kayla was permitted to rest at home since she hurts herself in the accident.

She thought that the sprain in her ankle was nothing serious, but the doctor who treated her said that her wound seemed rather serious.

Luckily, after she rested for a while, she could no longer feel any kind of pain in her feet.

The doctor then permitted her to go back to work.

"I'm busy, of course." She said as she came closer to Jeffrey. She picked Jeffrey up and sat him down on the bed. "Time for the check-up."

Jeffrey just nodded his head obediently. While she did her job, she also occasionally gave him a glance and admitted that this little guy also looked cute if he stayed silent.

However, where could we find an obedient boy in his three years old?

Maybe out of 10 kids, that boy only one and only.

She heard a lot of stories from her friends about Jeffrey while she was away. Because of his sudden unconsciousness, his mother came to visit him.

Yet, he always caught every time he went outside by her mother. The people inside the hospital actually know nothing about what happened to him when he went outside.

"It's done. You may rest early."

Jeffrey nodded, "Okay, sister Kayla."

After Kayla went out, Jeffrey let out a sigh of relief. He leaned his back against the top of the bed and said, "Status."

The same status window appeared before his eyes. He then said to the system, "Use 6 ASP to Energy and the rest of it to Health."

The system then updated the data.

[ The data has been updated. You may see the results in your status window ]

Jeffrey read the notification before said, "Status."

The new window opened up.

"Hmm?" Jeffrey suddenly frowned. "No other changes in the skill section?"

Jeffrey was confident that his theory would be correct, yet the theory was wrong?

He was confused, "What happened?"

His question then suddenly being answered by Page. "Master, the use of energy is to show how much the master of the system can store earth energy. The minimum level if you want to get the cultivation is level 2, master."

"What? So, you know about it?" Jeffrey was startled as he heard Page's voice. "I thought you said that your level still low?"

Page said, "At least, I know about the mechanism of the system, master."

Jeffrey, "..."
