That's all everyone says about me. My name is Cinder and I'm different from the other elves. I live with my amazing older brother Adam and quiet little sister Nova. Like I've told you we are anything but normal elves. And not in a good way. We were born with different color eyes, normally elves have had blue eyes. I have an icey blue eye and a lavender eye. My sister has blue and red-eye, my brother has grey and a green eye. When we were born our parents didn't know what was happening, I bet they asked themself why they got such screw-up children. With Adam, my parents shielded him away from the world and thought I was going to be normal. Boy were they wrong. Our poor parents didn't know what to do. They tried one more time to get a normal child. But Nova wasn't normal, she was the furthest from normal. Our parents were confused and scared and didn't know what to do. They kept us hidden, making us drink different elixirs to try to 'normalize' us but nothing worked. For years we only had each other for friends. We were mistreated by our parents as they were frustrated that every elixir wasn't working on us freaks. When Adam turned ten it was a madhouse in our house. My parents were scrambling trying to get eye patches and different elixirs that had somewhat of an effect on his weird eye to keep in his bag. Once he went with my parents to see if he could go to Foxfire all I and my 5-year-old sister could do was wait. You obviously can guess what happens next, Adam doesn't get into Foxfire because the Council is filled with a bunch of snobs. The council didn't know what to do with him. They didn't want him at Foxfire because then he would scare all the fancy rich kids, but they didn't want to send an innocent 10-year-old to Exillium. It didn't take long for the Council to find out that there were 2 more freaks that they had to deal with. So the Council just shrugged and said 'not our problem'. When they got home, he was crying. Our parents were yelling at him and seemed to be having a heated argument. It seemed like they didn't even care about his feelings, maybe they didn't. He rushed over to us and pushed us to his room. "We are not done with this conversation Freak!" my mother screeched pointing at us. He slammed the door and looked at it with his telekinesis. I could tell he was trying to hold in his tears and be strong for his sisters. But I knew he was hurting, I pulled him and my sister into a hug. He started crying and Nova started crying as well, not knowing what was going on. And we stayed right where we were because together, our problems were irrelevant.
