Reunion

"Yo. It's been a while, Lancelot." Arthur, whose soul was pulled from the previous world, spoke as if she had never died.

"It's been a while." Lancell answered back.

Their exchange was casual, as if they were acquaintances that just saw each other again, but the two of them weren't fans of fancy greeting, so for them, it was enough.

"Can I ask what you meant about Valle?"

"Oh? That's rather polite considering your treatment of me earlier."

"Well, you should have known more than anyone else tha—"

As Lancell was explaining himself, Arthur suddenly dashed towards him as she swung her 2 meter long blade as if it was weightless as it rip apart the air with terrifying speed.

Although Arkenvalle was unconscious, her sword form was still materialized in Lancell's hand so he used it to block Arthur's wild swing.

CLAAAANG!!!

An ear piercing sound of two metals colliding resounded within the room.

'Ugh! How heavy! This strength is already at the Level 90s of the First Step! Just what is she?! She wasn't as strong as this before!' Lancell's mind raced as he was shocked by Arthurs power.

After that one strike, Arthur stopped and attacked no further as she only clicked her tongue.

"Tch. Should have known you'd be this strong after a year."

"You know?"

"Your partner told me. But seriously, you fought the last boss called the Calamity Dragon? Didn't know you had that shit in you, huh?"

"I died though."

"And yet here you are, alive and kicking. Hey, let me punch you for a bit. I promise to be gentle."

"No."

They were casually exchanging jokes, but Lancell was worried about Arkenvalle.

"Hey, about Valle—"

"Fine! I get it! Geez, you won't even let my old dead bone rest...Anyway, she's just tired from overusing her power over Laws. Honestly, from the scale of what she did, I'm surprised she's not obliterated by the backlash of Laws yet."

Lancell finally relaxed at her explanation and was a bit embarrassed that he had forgotten such a simple fact.

Using the power of Laws causes a backlash depending on how much they had interfered with the world. And the damaged it incurs is completely dependent on one's Levels.

Weapons which carried the power of Laws, also places the strain upon their use onto their owners.

However, in this case, Arkenvalle was the one who had taken most of the backlash of the Laws, that was why she was currently in the process of recuperating.

Lancell made a sigh of relief as he spoke.

"I see... By the way, why are you so strong? Even though you still don't have any Levels, and even if Excalibur's with you, it still doesn't make any sense."

"Oh? It's quite simple, actually. Unlike you, whose Divine Weapon seems to have regressed, my Excalibur is still at the same level as when I died."

Arthur dropped a bombshell with a casual tone.

Lancell was shocked as he couldn't believe his ears.

"I-If I remember...it was at level 8 when you died...right?"

"Yeah. With a passive boost of 100% overall strength."

"..."

Lancell was speechless at her behaviour. She was speaking absurdities like it was facts. Well, it was all facts, but it didn't change the fact that she was flexing to her heart's content.

Lancell sighed again one more time, perhaps he had successfully gained a powerful ally, but it may have caused a problem of its own.

'Well, if time comes, I'll just have to deal with it.'

"So? Any plans?" Lancell asked Arthur who was lazing around in her house. When Lancell mentioned about looking for a place to stay, Arthur happily suggested he stay at her house.

And now, it was an entire hour lazing around as Arthur literally enjoyed being alive.

Hearing Lancell's question, Arthur took a glance at him, as and waved her hand as she answered.

"About that, I have one already. The Wave should be arriving in half a month, no? How about tackling a nearby dungeon for power levelling?"

Lancell nearly choked at her words. Dungeons, a mysterious isolated space that spawned monsters inside as it also prevented them from going out. However, if left alone, monsters would overflow from inside and rampage outside.

No one knows what exact purpose this unusual space was, but it was heaven in earth for warriors and mages. Thus, everytime a dungeon was found, it was strict regulations to immediately report it to authorities as leaving it alone would cause disaster.

And now, this absurd flexing master had dropped yet another bombshell.

'Seriously, just how much absurdities does she carry anyway?!'

"Hm? Why are you looking at me like I'm some sort of a monster? I just found out about it after Selvenia was destroyed long ago."

Lancell's brows raised at the unexpected information. From what she said, she was implying that there was a high chance it was an unconquered dungeon. And unconquered dungeon, for reasons unknown, always had a powerful Magic Equipment in it.

Magic Equipment were tools that carried the power of Laws, so they were powerful.

Although it became more common in the later years of the Waves, it was a tremendous asset this early in the Waves.

Lancell and Arthur grinned at each other as it was basically decided that they'd be competing over who gets the Magic Equipment first.

"Just to tell you, I'm not the same as I used to be." Lancell told Arthur who seemed underestimating him.

"Oh? And have you ever seen me go serious in combat?" Flexed the woman who had just gained her memories of her past life an hour ago.

Their grin became increasingly fierce as the competition had just became a war. It could be seen from this exchange just where Lancell got his arrogant attitude.

Meanwhile, in the Royal Palace, a certain princess rolled around in her bed as she thought about earlier events.

She had finally found someone who seemed to be worthy of cultivating the Royal Family's Heroic Guidance Tome, but she turned out to be an extortionist.

And just when someone actually appeared and saved them both, it was actually a kidnapper.

"Just what exactly was all that about?" She muttered as she hugged her body pillow even further.

She then grinned as she spoke to herself.

"Yup. They seem interesting, so let's find them again tomorrow."

And so, Lancell and Arthur's scheduled time of departure by the next day, would become an interesting encounter.
