Chapter 26: Shocking Truth

Arlo sat across from Gerald. "Okay, now speak. What is that tatoo that appeared on Lily? What do you know Gerald?" Gerald sipped his tea slowly and let out a sigh. "As you boys know, I am almost three thousand years old. You are both young and the world used to be very different. It's been a complete blessing to take care of the Harrison line as long as I have known them. Finn, I have also known you're families bloodline as well." Finn looked surprised but did not speak. "You both have ties to this part of the world for generations. I have seen a lot in my time and there was always talk of a prophecy." Gerald took another sip of tea to wet his throat. "If I'm right, which I hope I'm not, that symbol on Lily looks like a sovereign rune. I thought these were fairy tales to scare young children but..... Gerald trailed off and looked down at his tea leaves floating in his glass. Arlo started to feel uncomfortable. "What of this prophecy Gerry?" Both Arlo's and Finns serious energies were seeping out onto Gerald. The Dark sultry blue that was Arlo's aura; powerful and wise. Finn's a darker orange, almost sunset colored making him energized and confident. Both perfect to influence and encourage others. He smiled and thought, "the power of the rulers of their individual clans. The dragon king and werewolf king. Magnificent. It's a pity neither know that's a possible destiny yet but I have never given away my future visions unless necessary."

"The prophecy states that there will be a female ruler. One of mixed blood; non-human and human. She will be gorgeous, charming, intelligent, and....highly dangerous." Gerald slowed down and gripped his cup. "It also states that the one given the sovereign rune with become the ruler of all nonhuman kind. She will conqueror the demon realm and lead an army to eliminate the human race for good." Gerald sighed and looked up at the boys. Arlo's face was full of worry and disdain and Finn just looked terrified. Gerald quickly felt the depressing atmosphere and added another word of encouragement. "It is an old tale young masters and I am not even sure if it's truth." Arlo stood up and slammed his hand on the table, spilling the teapot over and soaking the tablecloth underneath. "There has to be a way to stop this fate. Gerald! I know you have the gift of foresight. Please, I beg you, look into the future and see if this is true!" Arlo snapped. Gerald looked at Arlo with astonishment. " Master how did you know? I have told no one alive today of my gift? "We can discuss that later! Can you just do what I ask of you?" Arlo pleaded. Gerald was happy to see his young master so eager to do anything. He has never cared about anything before yet this girl.... "If it is your wish, I will do it ." Gerald grimaced. Arlo smiled warmly at Gerald and this touched his heart. Gerald closed his eyes and he concentrated. He saw Lily and Arlo having fun, talking, watching their daily lives slowly tick by until about a year or so in the future. The snow was on the ground and he couldn't look up. He couldn't see anything except the calendar as Lily ran out of the house. It went all black. He felt confused. "Well?" Finn probed. "I don't know, I need to try again. That hasn't happened before." Gerald closed his eyes and tried again and saw the same scene. Lily looking upset, fleeing from their home in winter and then black. He kept his composure and decided to try something else. Gerald kept his eyes closed and focused on Finns possible futures and he saw several. Why couldn't he see Lily's? "I can not see Lily's future." Gerald said plainly. Arlo looked at Gerald, eyes filled with concern and sat back down. The room was quite for awhile as 3 men contemplated Gerald's words.
