THE SOUR SMELL OF VINEGAR 1

The dreaded memories of His late wife's drastic and fatal accident keep flashing on Grandpa Heng's mind. It makes his whole body tremble and his heart is in awful pain as if something is clamping on it and keep on squeezing it tight.

After a couple of rings, Uncle Wei finally answered JazC 's call ...

"JazC girl, what happened ?"

"Uncle Wei, where is grandpa? I'm still on the phone with him but he doesn't respond to me." Chief Han who is outside Master Heng's office went in to check what is going on.

As he open the huge door ....Chief Han saw his friend looking so lost, pacing back and forth, Arms hanging on the side with the phone in his right hand indicating still in - ongoing call.

"Uncle Wei, I think Grandpa is in a panic right now, right?"

"Yahhh.... he is in his office pacing in panic."

"Make sense now, no wonder I keep on talking but he won't reply"

JazC heard Chef Han sighing deeply, She felt so bad knowing a fact that she was the reason for the old man's anxiety right now. How can she not know about it when she was there during those darkest moments of grandpa's life. When how much his world crumble by the loss of his beloved wife. Whenever the curtain rolled out between him and the world, he was a fearless tyrannical businessman for the world to see but he is a broken and lost man behind that curtain. But behind his tyrannic aptitude he is the most loving and caring and soft-spoken person, friend, grandfather, brother, and family to those whom he adores.

"Yahhh... JazC girl your Uncle Fifth is calling as well, I'll explain to him what happened, He might be worried as well ."

"Thank you Uncle Wei and hmmmmm so sorry for the trouble."

"No worries, wait I tell your grandpa that you are still on the line ."

"Haoma ... Thank You!"

JazC heard Chef Han informing Old Master Heng that she was still on the other line. Not too long, She heard OLd Master Heng's tired voice.

"JazC my girl are you okay? What happened? Why I cannot contact all of you? I called in the mansion but I was told the kids weren't there so as you! Where did all of you go? A..."

But before the old man can continue again with his none stop question, JazC cut him off and explain.

"Grandpa! Chillax! Nothing bad happened to me neither the kids, alright. We are all doing fine and I'm so sorry for not picking up your call, I am in the orphanage as we speak and quite occupied with something here. And for the kids, They all went for their two months Summer Military Training Camp in Camp Aguila Military Base. Fifth Brother pick up the kids last week they will stay in the military base on weekdays and Uncle Tim's Mansion during weekends. He said he misses the kids a lot and wanted to spend time with them. Since Aunt Josie and sister Elise comeback from their Humanitarian Mission in Malawi, they were also spending time with them. I'm quite busy with the business and orphanage matter this month so I agree to their request." JazC explains in one breath.

Aunt Josie is the wife of Uncle Tim, Grandpa Heng's fifth brother and Elise is the daughter of Aunt Josie and Uncle Tim. Fifth brother Louis elder sister JazC's disciple. The mother and daughter pair adore the Heng's siblings (Jazc's quadruplets ) to the core. They utterly spoil the kids which sometimes scares JazC not only them but everyone in the family may it Grandpa Heng's Fifth brother(Uncle Tim) family, Fourth brother (Uncle David ) family, Third brother ( Uncle Sam/Attorney Kang) family, Uncle Wei and of course the one who spoils them the most is the very old man himself none other than Grandpa Heng, that scares JazC what if the kids grow up being unreasonable, arrogant and unkind. Even thinking about it, it gave her a huge headache.

"Ahhhhhhhh...You said the kids are with your Fifth Uncle right now ?..T...that ....that old man no wonder, I'm calling awhile ago but he hasn't picked up my call. Ahhhh... it's because he is so busy owning my little ones, that old man why can't he just ask his son to find a woman to breed as well or ask his daughter too or better command the two of them...No no no should that punk son of him I should've to ask Louies girl to accept that punk Loui already that way they can get married as soon as possible so that petty fifth brother of mine will have his grandchildren and will not covet my outstanding, beautiful, geniuses grandchildren.

"Grandpa, can you just focus on the right thing ."

Upon listening to Master Heng's blabbering JazC can stop herself from sighing and pinch her glabella. The old man's Jealousy acting up again, Even over the phone JazC can smell the sour smell of vinegar.

The old man forget a fact that just a while ago, he was commanding everyone to prepare for something as if so important even alerting his grandson who's busy in his business meeting, dealing with multi billion dollars transaction.

Now, He is in his sulking mood eating up by so much jealousy towards his Fifth brother who can spend precious time with his great-grandchildren, especially with his super cute, talented, super genius, adorable like a little bunny, super sweet like his favorite sugar candy, caring, thoughtful kind and ohhh soooo lovely one and only dearest great-granddaughter..... His dearest Little Ellie.

Just thinking about those little chipmunks although the three little ones are stoic like their father. Grandpa Heng loves them equally will ..mhmm...He loves little Ellie not so little more. Those four little chipmunks bring him so much joy, It's as if they fill up something in his heart, a hole that he doesn't know either has possibly existed.

The very first moment that he held them in his arms one after the other and heard their first cry, there and then he felt unexplainable feelings that exude out from within him that gave him chills and so much warmth at the same time.
