*Betrayal

6 October,1967

The streets of New Orleans were bustling with the crowd. People from different states came here to enjoy the festive and to hear the infamous myth about witches cult and vampires. A woman dressed in a black satin dress adorned with precious jewels, and a diamond necklace on her neck steps out of a taxi. She was wearing a black hat on her head and was hiding her face was from all the prying eyes.

She was like a mystery to anyone around her and her aura speak of power. She went inside a tall building where the party was held. Everyone there belongs to a rich family, and they were dressed in luxury. A soft melody was playing in the background, man and women were laughing and enjoying each other company.

The woman turns her head around the hall to look for someone, and she smiles in his direction. They both raise their glass toward each other. She crossed the distance to reach him and her eyes were sparkling with love. It was like she is looking at her whole world.

"At last you are here," the man said smiling" I was waiting for your arrival and I have something for you, I am sure you will love my surprise."

The woman was delighted to hear this from her lover. She was curious about his surprise. She shyly looked into his eyes and said: "I am sorry for making you wait for my love, and I am very curious about what you are planning to do."

"Patience my love I am sure you will love it and remember this forever until your last breath," the man said smirking in her direction.

"Have you heard about the government plan of killing and executing vampires? They will give a large sum of money to anyone who will help them capture a vampire. Even witches are threatened." The woman asked the man who was looking at her with a glint of evilness in his eyes.

"Yes, darling! I have heard about it, and I am sure the government has started implementing it." The man answered in low voice.

"But how could they take our land from us? We are the real owner and our rule should be followed, and they are trying to diminish our kind" the woman said this in an angry tone with her voice raised.

"Relax my love it will be all right" the man tried to soothe her with his words. "You stay here and enjoy your drink I will go and meet someone I know."

"Okay I am all alright here" She smiled at him and with a last glance, he was out of sight. The party was going in full swing and there were a lot of familiar faces whom you can see at every elite party. She smiled at them and toss her glass in their direction for greeting but she was not interested in mingling with them.

Suddenly the music stopped and the door of the grand ballroom open. The crowd was whispering about what is happening and some of the police officers and the minister came in sight. She knew that they found a vampire and she started to get worried about him. Where the hell he was at this moment and what if he gets caught. she thought about it in her head. But the crowd began to disperse and the officers were coming in her direction.

They started to handcuff her, and she started struggling against their hold, but she couldn't do anything as the handcuff was covered with vervain, and her skin was burning under its impact. The minister came out of the crowd, and her lover was also along with him. She looked into his eyes and couldn't believe his betrayal.

"How could you do this to me Alexander?" She said with her voice broken.

"I am sorry love I had to do this to save myself", he apologized, but there was no regret in his voice. He still had a cocky smirk on his face which made her fuming with anger.

"You will regret this mark my words you filthy bastard," She said with so much anger in her voice, and there was also determination in her eyes, "I will make everyone pay for this."

Everyone was watching this scene with amusement and couldn't believe that she was a vampire. The beautiful woman they admired was not a human, but a blood-sucking monster.
