Ember glared up at the wall that she had just fell from as Wilbur laughed in the background hystercially. She wipped her head around and hissed at him as she got back onto her feet and gripped it once more and followed the prochedure, making it higher before she fell once more. She growled as Wilburs laughing only continued.
"Okay, okay. I'll admit, this is pretty sad." Wilbur mournfully said, "But its halirous." He laughed as she continued to attempt to climb her way up to the top of the damn wall. As she continued to fall, it became apparent that it was becoming less and less amuzing to Wilbur as the laughter died down each time she fell.
"This is just pathetic, I've seen babies climb better then you." Wilbur shouted as Ember shook with fear and hatred, fear for the height she was at and hatred for Wilbur's annoying comments that were getting deeper and deeper into her skin but she kept her calm. Sort of.
She felt her grip loosen and she fell back to the bottom as she heard Wilbur sigh. "Alright, lets give you a little motivation." He grinned, recalling the myth on how Neko's came into excistance. "How about a little story time? Let's talk about how Neko's came into this world." Ember growled, she knew the story and she hated it, it just degraded Neko's further and insulted not only her race but her dignity.
"There was once a lady who was known around the world as the most graceful woman of all time. She only thought about her legacy, or rather, who would carry it on. It was obvious that the gods had gifted her with the aglity that she used but she wanted to pass it down to her descendants." Wilbur begun.
Ember growled, she hated that this was the way humans perceived Neko's. Freaks of nature, some product of someones hubrus when it was the humans hubrus that felt the need to constantly insult other races instead of just dealing with that they were not alone on this planet. She gripped the climbing wall and pushed herself up with her legs, she was pushing her muscles to the max and has been for the last two hours she's been attempting to climb this wall.
"One day she heard of the Nefulion's, or mountain Nekos as they are known today. She heard of their natural prowess and abilty of grace. She decided she would marry one of them to create her legacy, to make her gift passed down generation after generation. When she went up to the mountains to find one of these creature, she came upon one of their settlements."
Ember pushed herself up with a growl. She could not believe that he was just shouting this myth, this damned creation story. A folk-tale that not even the Neko's in the less visited areas believed. She hated a lot of things, but this story was ontop of the list. She couldn't stand it when this story was brought up at 'proof' of their excistance being a mistake by the gods or made by the hubrus of a woman. Sure, Neko's were proud people, but they were in no way like this. She pushed strands of her hair sticking to her sweaty face away. Her palms were sticky but that only gave her an advantage as she used the sitckiness to create a better hold on the wall.
"When she entered, she was greeted with hostility from the feral tribe. When asked what she was wanted from them, she answered simply, 'I want to marry one of you and bare your children.' the tribe laughed out loud at the woman, 'You? Bare our children? You wouldn't be able to handle such a task, let alone being able to marry one of us you crazy woman. Leave here before you get hurt.' They mocked." Wilbur told as Ember continued to climb, grumbling to herself.
"Stupid humans, stupid wall, stupid folk-tale." She growled underneath her breath. "I hate this, I that story, I hate him." She hissed to herself as she continued on her way up to the top. Her breath becoming short from her complaints of the story, her brown eyes filled with determination and hatred for multiple things. Her tail swished back and forth with annoyance and her ears were lowered as she continued to climb the wall.
Wilbur smirked to himself, he had to give himself credit, he knew how to motivate people. But Ember made it to easy to piss her off. She had a lot of pride and dignity, so it was easy to fuel her with anger.
He continued with the story, "The woman laughed in their faces, 'You think a little bit of mockery will stop me? You fail to see my determination.' She grinned. She walked past the gaurds and into the settlement. She watched the males walk by until a young one walked up to her, 'You should leave before the cheif comes here to throw you out himself.' He warned in which she responded, 'There is no point in warning me, I am here on a mission and I will not leave until I get what I want.' She assured, sitting down on the rock wall as the boy walked off."
Ember felt her grip loosen slightly but she gripped the wall harder, her brows furrowing in focus of reaching the top to make him stop talking. Not only was that story annoying but his voice was becoming grating and repeative. It was almost as if someone had him on loop, using near the exact same tone but just changing the words. Ember pushed toward, pushing herself up by her legs, feeling her gulets tense up as she got a cramp.
"She sat upon that wall for several more hours until a different boy walked up to her but this one looked older then the last, 'I advise you leave before the cheif comes to hurt you and you leave maimed,' He advised. 'I will leave when I get what I came here for.' She huffed, crossing her arms as the boy walked off, shaking his head with sorrow for the poor woman."
"Oh my god, would you shut up you repeater before I come down there to choke you." Ember shouted, she pushed forward, just wanting to reach the last boulder before she jumped down to strangle her trainer with no mercy. She huffed as she pulled herself up and refused to look down, she didn't want to. She knew she would get sick and lose her grip on the wall.
Wilbur smirked but continued anyway, "In the next hour an older boy, looking about a few years younger then herself came walking up, 'Please leave and the cheif won't have to chain you up in the doungen.' he begged and she shook her head, 'As I've told the others, I will not leave until I fulfill my wish.' she said firmly, refusing to be moved with threats."
Ember groaned, he continued anyway but she was so close to the top, she just had to tough it out so she could jump down and kick Wilbur out of the training room and listen to his cries of mercy. Ember smirked sadistically as the thought of watching him cower into a corner filled her mind. She hummed lightly to herself as she continued to climb, almost slipping sereval times on her way up.
"This time a man walked up, 'Please leave Ma'am so the Chief won't use his claws on you.' He pleaded. 'I'm afarid I will not be moved from this spot until I get myself a husband.' She informed and she watched the mans arms fall to his side as she walked away with a look a sad look on his face. The woman at this point was getting annoyed, how long would it take for the chief to come down and threaten him herself?" Wilbur told.
"Say one more word and I'll be kicking your butt into the mountains so we can see how well the Nefulion's appreaite vistors for real." Ember growled as she made her way to the top, just a few more feet away from the very end.
"Finally, a tall man appeared in front of her, 'I have warned you but I was informed the reason you are here. What makes you so sure you can bare the children of our race? You are a weak woman, nothing compared to the women here.' He informed, 'I know I can because I am better then all of you, but I am humbling myself down to your level and I refuse to marry someone who is not as graceful as myself.' The woman informed, insulting the Nefulion's."
Ember huffed as she put her hands on the finally piece of the wall, "You better be good at running you annoying little piece of garbage." She shouted as she stablized herself.
"And she and the chief got married and had children and thats how Neko's came into excistance but the gods hated them so much that they forced them to be forever under both species in which they came from." He quickly finished as Ember fell to the ground with a growl and her hair fell from her hair band and she began to chase the male around the training room.
