"Hm~hm~," Feng Tian hummed. A muffled scream choked the air with every 'crunch' and 'crack' that came from the remaining malformed hand Feng Tian was stomping his boot on.
After he had his fun jumping around, he wagged his finger towards Qian Mei. She stepped lightly around a few strewn corpses before drawing her sword and chopping the man's hand off.
Now the youth had two bleeding stumps on his wrist, and eventually died from blood loss. The young master of the sect then turned his attention to a trembling child.
"Young Master Feng," one of his henchmen coughed. "The sect still requires people to clean our facilities and toilets."
"Our?" Feng Tian made a swiping motion across his neck, and the henchmen suddenly felt that the left side of his chest was very cool. "You are not equal to me."
Looking down, the henchmen saw a familiar piece of metal sticking out his heart. He didn't get the chance to look back at his killer before his head fell off.
"However, now that I think about it; you might be correct. The question is: who's gonna be the lucky new manager of this cleaning crew?"
"Feng Tian, it would be foolish of you to put a child in charge. I recommend you instate a cleaner older than eighteen." Qian Mei flicked the blood off her sword and looked pointedly at the trembling child in the corner of the room.
"Martial Aunt, why are you so determined for me to kill children? First, it was that whetstone, now it's this rodent." Feng Tian rubbed his chin for a moment. "In fact, I don't mind killing them. But then again, I also never liked listening to you."
He ignored the boy in search of a new target. However, after scouting, he soon realised that except for another old man and a middle-aged woman, everyone else were either dead or permanently debilitated.
"How old are you, skeleton?"
"M-me?" The old man pointed at himself. "I'm s-sixty seven--."
"Martial Aunt, kill it."
Thump! A streak of red followed those words.
"How about you, meatbag?"
"I, uh, I.. I'm fourteen years old," answered the woman with crow's feet at the corner of her eyes and a slightly hunched back.
"Perfect. You get to be the new manager!" Feng Tian started clapping, causing the women to join him in an effort to get on his good side.
This definitely would have been the end of a normal man's murder spree. Unfortunately, Feng Tian was not a normal human being.
"How dare you clap louder than me! You stupid, dumb meatbag! Men, hold her down." The remaining henchmen grabbed her shoulder and pushed her to the floor.
Her pleas for mercy did not go unheard as the men holding her down smiled in anticipation. There were countless reasons why people risk their live hanging around this lunatic.
Besides the obvious benefits such as people taking wide steps around them or receiving most of what they want for free, the other main advantage was that once Feng Tian used something he often threw it away the next second.
This meant that his henchmen could get whatever scraps he left behind be it human or a weapon. In essence, standing alongside Feng Tian meant a chance at having anything they want in this world.
"Feng Tian," Qian Mei openly inspected her sword very closely before saying, "I don't care what you do when I'm not around, but in front of me, I hope you know that my oath can only tolerate so much."
"Hm~," Feng Tian stopped disrobing and started humming quietly to himself. "Martial Aunt, I think you have me mistaken."
There seemed to be a hypnotic pattern to each tune, one sang so sweetly that it made it hard to believe that this note could come out of a being so twisted.
Feng Tian cupped the struggling woman's chin and asked. "Little meatbag, do you want to please me or do you want my Martial Aunt to rip out your heart?"
The strength sapped from the woman as she heard the choices she was given. Her struggles ceased as she choked out her answer in tears. "I.. I want you.."
The truth was; there were only two types of people in this world. The people that can easily kill Feng Tian, and the ones that could not.
Coincidentally, of those two types, Feng Tian was only willing to consider the first type's opinion on his actions. Thus, in reality, this question was not aimed at the woman. It was aimed at Qing Mei.
Qing Mei had the choice to brutally murder the poor woman or allow him to force himself onto her. Ling Yun suddenly remembered the blood on her hands. He didn't need to think hard to guess which choice she made.
"Are you happy now, Martial Aunt? This thing has given me consent," Feng Tian spit the last word like venom on his tongue.
"Mm," Qian Mei walked closer and punched the woman in the face. The latter squeaked in pain, whilst Qian Mei shook her fist. Her eyes remained expressionless as she said, "If you dare to hit me with your face, then you dare to die."
Feng Tian laughed in the background as the woman's face shifted from shock to terrifying realisation. "No, plea--!"
The possession ended at her cry. Ling Yun snapped back into the present and immediately slumped to the ground. Qian Mei caught him and laid her disciple onto his bed. "Do you understand now?"
"Y-you… why didn't you stop him?" Ling Yun whispered hoarsely. "Th-they're all dead because of me.."
Ling Yun was a matured soul but that scene was something so inhumane that it brought tears unbidden streaking down his face. He had heard talk about the young master of this sect from his cleaner friends.
This world had demons and magical beasts as well, but Ling Yun now knows the existence of a monster so complete, it brought back a feeling he had long lost since the discovery of his immortality.
Even picturing his face in his head now sent waves of fear, hatred and disgust. Ling Yun was not scared of dying, but he was scared of being tortured to the point he wished he was dead.
He thought back to his conversation with Gu Luofan and suddenly felt that the annihilation of this sect doesn't seem so bad anymore as long as someone killed the seed of evil that was growing before it was too late. This sect was nothing like the evil sects he had read in the online novels in his previous life.
Those novels often show those sect members to be not only retarded, but also only capable of just killing people. They had never spoken too much of the length of what even a single person is capable of.
"He has to die." Ling Yun unknowingly voiced out his thoughts. He had yet to kill someone in this life, but he now knew it was impossible to remain as such. This world wasn't like Earth, if not even his own teacher as powerful as she was dared to touch Feng Tian's skin, then he was sure no one would ever try.
That's why Ling Yun had to kill him.
Qian Mei fingers twitched when she heard what Ling Yun said. She ruffled the boy's hair and left the room. Her lips parted for a second, but whatever she said was too quiet for Ling Yun to hear.
"I know."
