CHAPTER 41: NATANIA ALBERGO

Nat's POV

It has been two days since I left for Italy and things are worse in Italy than in America. And that is saying something.

My whole family is in Italy and we're very rich. But not richer than the Alfonsi and the Accardi clan of course. They are the richest people in Italy and no one messes with them.

My family has no close ties with them. We are the only people in Italy who dare to stand against the both of them. Cause like them, we aren't normal.

We have a clan of our own.

I'm Natania Albergo, soon to be the leader of the Albergo clan.

Nat for Natania.

Very very very less people know about this and I prefer to keep it that way.

To be honest, I just found out now and honestly I'm freaked out.

As if having 2 dangerous clans in my life wasn't enough so god decided to spice things up even more. Not only now, do I have 2 clans after me who would hunt me down and wouldn't even flinch and kill me within a spam of seconds, I am a part of ANOTHER clan and our clan isn't Switzerland either. We have a rivalry of our own with the two of them and the only lucky part is that this clan is pretty secretive so the Accardi's and the Alfonsi's don't really know that we have submerged from the underworld and are planning our next move.

Basically, making already bad matters worse.

Just the way I like it.

It's a tradition that only female members of the clan can be the leaders.

Not a male.

Very feminist.

And as I happen to be the niece of the leader, they selected me.

I wonder why they didn't select Sophie, who is their daughter.

Being the niece part doesn't really add up like mostly nothing in my life does, but still, I have got to say this is odd, even for my life.

Yes, the same Sophie was hanging out with Marco Accardi and who also happens to be my perfect cousin'.

I don't like her one bit and I'm super glad she's not the leader cause we could do so much better than her, but unfortunately for me and my luck, it's me.

I am all for having a dope ass clan leader but of course, this was just going to come and bite me in the back.

Maybe, I really shouldn't be so pessimistic and try to find the good in this. The only good things I can come up with is that I now have a whole responsibility and I have also never learned how to use a gun so now, I can learn how to use a gun but oh no, that's just going to be there for killing people.

When did my already dark life take such a darker turn?

Why couldn't it just be Sophie instead?

A huge part of my family doesn't like me already and I have a gut feeling that I will screw things up and they'll dislike me more than they already do.

This whole thing has a lot of side effects and I don't like it one bit.

But I'm just sixteen! About to be seventeen and with all the drama already going on between the Alfonsi and the Accardi clan with me at the center of it, I don't think I need another responsibility on my shoulders.

But it's no more a break to me because today they'll test me if I'm fit enough and even though I don't wanna do this, I have to.

Why can't I just have a jolly good vacation with my grandfather here and check up on him and then go back to hell a.k.a. where the clan leaders are.

That's a way better idea than being a leader of a clan, that even a huge one.

My parents count on me and this is the only thing that'll make them happy now.

I just hope they don't give me anything tough.

It's a good thing all is clear between the Albergo, the Alfonsi, and the Accardi clan unlike stuff between the Alfonsi and the Accardi clan.

Or so I hope, with the way things roll, I won't be surprised that there was another dimension to this 'being a clan leader' thing.

So they won't give me anything tough.

Hopefully.

I look at the clock in my room to see the time.

12:30 p.m.

It's time to go and face what challenge I have to do.

I go to the office in our very big mansion.

The office is on the whole floor.

I step inside and go to the headroom where the leader sits.

I knock thrice on the door before the leader asks me to come in.

It's a big room with a large desk which she is sitting at. There is a large window and a sofa next to it.

The table is scattered with papers and pens.

She gestures her hand towards the chair in front of her, asking me to sit down.

I sit down on the chair and look at her.

She does some paperwork and then suddenly looks me straight in the eye and asks me, "Are you ready for this?"

What do you think woman?

I internally scream no but nod my head yes.

She looks at me for another two minutes and takes a box out of her table's drawer.

The way she was staring was starting to get creepy.

"You know who Mario is right?"she asks me.

"Yes," I say and gulp.

You don't want to know what I know.

She takes out a gun from that box and hands to over to me.

I take the gun in my hands and they start shaking.

"Well, you gotta kill him," she says and smirks and looks so happy as though she just didn't give a death sentence to a person.
