With Every Laughter Comes the Disappointment

Annabelle wakes up to the noise in the living room. Clarissa is saying she can't find the car nor the car keys.

Annabelle: What happened?. What's the noise all about?.

Clarissa: (Worried)I can't find the keys to the car and I can't find the car either.

Annabelle: (Shocked) What?.

Eline: (Approaches the living room, with sleepy eyes. She was woken by the noise) Mom asked me today about the keys she found, so I told her you got a car yesterday.

A/C: (Annabelle and Clarissa exclaim in shock) What?.

Eline: (Robbing her eyes) I guess she drove the car to work.

Clarissa: I'm sure she's going to brag about how she got a new car. Unbelievable!.

Annabelle: That was meant to be a surprise. Why would she even drive the car without my consent?. Does she even know how to drive?.

Clarissa: I guess dad did teach her how to drive.

Annabelle: (Exclaims) Two days!. Two days is not enough to learn how to drive. He only taught her for two days. ( Goes to the kitchen to make breakfast. Everyone is still taken aback by the situation).

Later In the Afternoon, Still at Annabelle's Apartment.

Margarate arrives with the car all damaged from the front. The lights are broken, the car plate is bent, the metal that covers the engine section is open and cannot close. Margarate walks inside the house and her face says it all.

Annabelle: (immediately springs to her feet) I heard you took the car. Why would you take it?, that was meant to be a surprise. (Notices Margrate's mood is down) What happened to the car?.

Margarate: (In a low but guilty tone) I was on my way home when a speeding car was coming my direction. As I struggled to turn the car to another direction, I ran and hit a pole.

Annabelle: (Drops to her knee in disbelief, shock and frustration. Stutters) Where....where did you park the car?.

Margarate: It's outside. (Annabelle and her sisters rush outside to see the car. Margarate follows behind).

Clarissa: (Disappointed) It's really ruined.

Eline: Oh no.

Annabelle: (Almost tearing up) What do we do?. I just got this car yesterday. (Turns to Margarate) Who's going to pay for this?.

Margarate: I'll look for a mechanic to fix it. We can pay slowly.

Annabelle: We?, who's we?. Why did you have to touch the car?. You don't even know how to drive.

Margarate: (Getting frustrated without feeling a single guilt) You should be thanking the Lord that I'm alive and didn't die. Instead, you're only worried about some stupid car.

Annabelle: I don't even know what to say to you (Annabelle turns and starts walking away in so much rage).

At The Neighborhood Park

Annabelle breaks down crying, with water drooling down from her nose. She feels a sharp pain in her head. She struggles to calm down when someone taps her from behind.

Annabelle: (Surprisingly turns around and sees Harry. Quickly wipes her eyes and her nose) what are you doing here? (stands to walk away when Harry grabs her hand). (Angrily) What are you doing?.

Harry: Come with me.

Annabelle: I'm not going home if that's where you're taking me.

Harry: I'm taking you somewhere else (Urges her to follow him to the car. They both get in and he drives away).

At The Bowling House

Harry and Annabelle arrive at the bowling house

Annabelle: (Looking around) Where are we? And why are we here?.

Harry: I'm going to teach you how to play bowling (unbuckles both of their seatbelts, walks out of the car and opens Annabelle's section of the door as she walks out). Diana told me you don't go out too often, so today we're going to have fun. (Without a single word from Annabelle, he grabs her hand and they walk inside the building where he meets the manager and pays for bowling tickets for two as well as their bowling shoes. He approaches Annabelle with her own pair of shoe).

Annabelle: How did you know my size?.

Harry: (Goes down on one knee and helps Annabelle put on her shoe) I asked my sister. (Gives a short but loving smile and then stands up) Shall we start?.

Annabelle: (smiles) Okay.

Harry: (grabs a ball and explains to Annabelle how to throw the ball) See, you need to have a perfect gaze. You should always throw the ball at the middle and not at the center.

Annabelle: (Concentrates) Okay.

Harry: (Throws the ball, hitting all the bottles as they all fall at once, getting a perfect score. Annabelle smiles in amazement) Now you try (hands over the ball to Annabelle and fixes her gaze on the bottles as he turns her head left and right, then to the middle. He holds her hand and they throw the ball together hitting all the bottles).

Annabelle: (happily jumps) Wow, I got it!.

Harry: Now try again. (They continue playing for a long time and Annabelle starts feeling hungry). Here (hands over the bowling scores that are written clearly on a paper).

Annabelle: (Looking through the scores. Annabelle 91, Harry 70) I won?.

Harry: (smiles) What do you want to eat?. You look tired.

Annabelle: It's okay, just take me home.

Harry: I insist. I know a perfect place for us to go.

Annabelle: Well, okay. (Why is he doing this?. Is it because he feels sorry for me?. Besides, I don't want to go home now, so I'll just go with him). I'll take off my shoes first. (They both take off their bowling shoes, wear back their original shoes and they leave. They both use the stairs since the elevator is out of service).

Annabelle: We could've used an elevator. It's so hard climbing these stairs.

Harry: I noticed earlier that it was out of service. (Extends his hand) Take my hand.

Annabelle: (Heart pounding) What?.

Harry: Take my hand. It'll help relieve the burden.

Annabelle: I don't need to. I can walk on my own.

Harry: If you say so. (He turns to continue when she slips and he swiftly grabs her hand) I told you to take my hand.

Annabelle: (Feeling a little embarrassed) Thank you.

Harry: It's not cute when you refuse help from other people. You might be strong, but everyone needs help sometimes. I know you're hungry and not in the right state of mind right now. That means you're probably weak.

Annabelle: (Smiles awkwardly) A little.

Harry: Let's go (They walk through the stairs holding hands).
