DAYS PASSING
David comes home from work when Annabelle waves at him from upstairs and they both smile at each other.
IN THE KITCHEN
Annabelle is teaching David how to cook, but David doesn't seem to understand.
Annabelle: (David uses his bare hands to grab a freshly cut fish from a bowl and places it into a pot of hot oil, she slaps his hand) You'll burn your hand. You have to use a big spoon while you do that. You never learn (decides to do it herself).
David: I'm sorry.
Annabelle: I'm going to teach you again. (30 minutes later, they both decide to taste the food) How is it?.
David: (While licking his lips) It's really delicious.
Annabelle: (Laughs) Is it?.
David: Teach me how to cook that too.
Annabelle: Okay, but you have to pay special attention.
David: I'll go grab a note book (rushes to get one).
Annabelle: (Shouts) David, wait..
At The Garden
David is watering the plants when Annabelle joins him.
Annabelle: What are you doing?.
David: I'm watering the plants so they don't die of dehydration (laughs).
Annabelle: (Smirks and bends to have a closer look at the flower plants) They're so beautiful. Each has its own unique color. (Grabs the watering can from David) I'll do it.
David: Okay (watches Annabelle water the flowers gracefully. 1 hour later, David walks outside and sees Annabelle sitting in the garden. He stares at her for quite a long time).
DAYS PASSING
David walks up to Annabelle who has fallen asleep in the library room with a book in her hand.
David: (Laughs) Silly (puts the book away and tries to carry her when she suddenly speaks with her eyes still closed).
Annabelle: I know it's you.
David: (Stutters) I was just trying to... (Annabelle raises her hands so he can carry her. He takes her to her room and tucks her to sleep).
Annabelle: (Turns around to fix her sleeping position with her eyes still closed. Murmurs) Thank you (David watches her sleep for a while and then he leaves her room while closing the door quietly behind him in order not to wake her up).
At Annabelle's Work Place
Annabelle walks out of the building after finishing with work when she sees David waiting for her outside.
Annabelle: (Surprised) David?.
David: (Opens the door to the car so she can go in) Get in.
Annabelle: But I brought my car...(David interrupts her).
David: I'll have the driver take it home. I have somewhere I want to take you.
Annabelle: (Smiles suspiciously and gets into the car. To David tucking his seatbelt after getting in) Where are we going?.
David: (Buckles her seatbelt) To see fireworks (smiles and drives away. Annabelle stares at him for quite a long time, almost half way there).
At The Park
David and Annabelle arrive at a public park where everyone sits to watch fireworks.
David: This is it!. (Suddenly turns to Annabelle who is so focused on the fireworks display) You seem to be a lot more interested than what I anticipated.
Annabelle: I was here before.
David: I see. Who did you come here with?.
Annabelle: (Harry brought me here before, but I can't tell him that) My family.
David: (Awkward smile) Oh. (Annabelle smiles back). I know you don't like it when I ask you this, but I'm really curious to know. Why did you marry me?. I'm sorry, I just think it's (stutters) just... really important that I know.
Annabelle: (Suddenly decides to be honest) Your mother!. I won't exactly say she forced me, but I really did feel bad for her. (Suddenly laughs) She really wants to have kids with whom she can play with and tell bed time stories to. I found it really adorable. My mom never torments me about wanting babies to play with. Your mom doesn't really have any friends, neither does she have anyone to talk to. So, I hope you can understand her.
David: (Smiles in amazement) I'm surprised you talk about my mom in such simple yet positive words. If I had someone I liked, i don't think I would've ever agreed to marry you. I sometimes wondered if you had to choose between me and your love life. (Annabelle turns to look at him with a confused expression) I was just being curious. So, were you dating anyone?, or was there someone you liked?.
Annabelle: (Nodes her head in disagreement) No one. There wasn't anyone.
David: What about now?.
Annabelle: (Suddenly quiet and then laughs teasingly) Still no one!.
David: (Laughs along) You're kidding.
Annabelle: I'm not (they stare at each other for a long time and then, they focus their gaze back on the fireworks).
Later At Night,
At David's House,In Annabelle's Bedroom.
Annabelle is staring at Diana's messages on Facebook when she decides to go meet her. She grabs her bag and walks downstairs in a hurry when she suddenly bumps into David.
David: Where are you headed?. You seem to be in quite a hurry.
Annabelle: (Stutters) Oh..., uh.. I want to go visit my mom. She really misses me.
David: I'll drive you there.
Annabelle: No, I can drive on my own. Don't worry about it.
David: Are you sure you don't want me to drive you?.
Annabelle: Yes. I'll be back before you know it.
David: Okay (Annabelle leaves in a hurry).
At The Restaurant
Annabelle suddenly walks in and sees Diana sitting at a table. Diana waves at her and she joins her at the table.
Diana: I didn't think I'd ever see you again.
Thank you for coming.
Annabelle: (Notices the the sad expression on her face) What happened to you?. You suddenly left the State without a single word. At first, I thought I should probably understand why you left, but we were best friends.
Diana: I know and I'm so sorry, but I came back. (Grabs Annabelle's hands and suddenly notices the ring on her finger. Stutters) You're... married?.
Annabelle: (Quickly lets go of Diana's hands. Suddenly confident) Yes, I'm married now. So many years have passed, at least one of us changed.
Diana: You're married now!. (Suddenly feels discouraged to tell her about Harry's situation. In a low tone) I'm happy for you.
Annabelle: What about Harry?. Is he doing okay?.
Diana: (Nodes and struggles to smile) He's better than ever. He went back to studying medicine and he's even dating again.
Annabelle: (Her mood suddenly changes) Is that so? (So he finally woke up).
Diana: Do you want us to order some coffee?.
Annabelle: Of all people, you should know I don't drink coffee.
Diana: (Awkwardly smiles) I'm sorry, I just thought a lot has changed about you. Your taste in clothes and (indirectly refers to Harry) whatever you used to like before could change, you never know.
Annabelle: You're right. Besides, (while thinking about Harry) people do change.
Diana: (Tries to lighten up the mood) Well I still like coffee and I'm still not married. Jacob and I broke up when I left for Australia.
Annabelle: He was a jerk anyway (Diana smiles awkwardly).
Diana: So, who's the lucky guy?.
