Saad's pov :
It was definitely a crazy day. No arguments. And the day hadn't even ended. I didn't know what else I would have to face now. Hopefully whatever it is, it wouldn't be as bad as my argument with her mom. It was unexpected and I wouldn't disagree that I wasn't scared. Or I don't know... But I just couldn't argue with her because she seemed scary. Okay, if her daughter heard this then I guess I would be dead. But that's the truth.
I really didn't mean to offend her or anything. I was just trying to buy my sister the dress she liked and then BOOM! I couldn't even buy her that. Thankfully, she saved me from her mother. It was the second time that she saved me that day. First from my sister's upcoming questions and second from her mother. I owed her.
Coming to think about it, maybe living with her wouldn't be that bad. Hopefully. In Sha Allah, I muttered in my head. We were now heading to the jewellery shop which her mother spotted. She went to the other shop with her friend. Was it weird that she didn't come to this shop? I mean, girls loved jewelleries, didn't they?
Shaking my thoughts away, I looked around, trying to figure out what was I even doing here! I didn't have to buy anything, right? But since I didn't know this place, I couldn't even go around because I was sure that I would get lost. Sighing, I started looking through the jewelleries.
A sudden thought popped up in my mind. Do we have to give a gift to our wife after marriage? Furrowing my brows, I tried to think if my brother gifted something to his wife. I didn't remember clearly. But I do remember ammi pestering him to buy something for her at that time and I was laughing at him, enjoying his state.
Oh how fast time flies and things change!
Running my hand through my hair, I released a long breath. What do I give her? I had no idea about her likes or dislikes. I should just stick to something sure and safe, I decided.
Everyone gave wedding rings so that would have to do, I guess. My gaze swept around, trying to find where the rings were situated.
But even if I wanted to buy a ring for her, I didn't know her ring size. What do I do? I wondered. Ya Allah why was I even stuck here in this situation!
My gaze landed on Alayna and Amira and a smile made its way onto my lips. I knew exactly what to do. "Alayna, Amira!" Hopefully this plan would work.
"Yes bhai." They replied, coming towards me. Holding their hands, I tugged them aside.
"I need your help. But this should remain a secret between us." I told them slowly while looking around for her mother. I didn't want her to listen to us or know my plan.
Their eyes lit up. "Secret?" Amira inquired excitedly.
"Yes secret. Will you guys keep one?" I asked them hopefully.
"Yes bhai we will. But how can we help you?" Alayna answered after exchanging a glance with Amira.
Should I really ask for their help? I hesitated. Oh well, I didn't have any other option. "I want you guys to go and ask Amira's sister for her ring. Can you guys do that?"
They both looked at me curiously. "But why do you want it?" Amira inquired with big curious eyes.
Should I tell them? It would be a big risk and I couldn't take that. But why do I not have any other option? I wondered in annoyance. "I want to buy a gift for your sister." I admitted softly. I didn't know why but suddenly I was feeling hot here, although the air conditioner was turned on.
"Oooo." Their faces formed a cute 'o' as they whispered happily, their eyes lit up with happiness and excitement. "But bhai we want something in return." Alayna informed me innocently. But I knew she wasn't that innocent. And how did I not think about this? I should have known that they would ask for something in return. But the tea had already been spilled and I couldn't get it back in, so I would have to agree.
"And what is that?" I asked them sweetly.
She pointed to the ice-cream shop in front of this shop and grinned cheekily. Amira was also smiling while looking at me hopefully.
"Alright, we will go. But only after buying the ring. Okay?" Sighing, I gave in.
"Okay!" They chorused happily while running away. I saw them as they whispered something to her mother and after a while they gave me a thumbs up before running out of the shop.
I turned around to look at the rings, trying to figure out which one she might like. There were so many options and designs that I was left confused and frustrated. Why was this so hard!?
"No no, I want something simple and elegant. My daughter wouldn't like these." I heard her mom talking to the worker, shaking her head furiously. Was she talking about... Yeah obviously! I mean who else was getting married here?
Wait... Did she know that I was looking for something for her daughter? Was it that visible on my face? Did Amira and Alayna inform her about it? Or was it a mere coincidence? Ya Allah! Shaking my head once again, I started scanning the display. But her statement was useful for me, it was going to help me select something for her.
"Bhai!" They huffed as they came running to me. That was fast. What did they tell her? I didn't expect them to come so soon. But it was good that they were here early. I would have time to select the ring.
"Api said not to lose this ring." Amira huffed while handing me the ring carefully.
"Okay." I replied while taking the ring and examining it. It looked small. Did it even fit her? "You guys can go and sit there." I said while gesturing to the couch in one corner. They nodded their heads, hopping away.
Now came the difficult part. What do I even choose? Sighing, I got to work.
After watching lots of rings, and failing to find 'the one.' I was just about to give up when my eyes landed on a delicate diamond ring. It was simple, just a diamond stud in the middle of the gold ring maybe. But it looked so elegant sitting among other rings that I was sure it was the one.
Asking the salesman to show it to me, I took it in my hand's and measured it with her ring, it fitted perfectly. And I couldn't stop myself from thinking how beautiful it would look on her hand. This was the one. Smiling triumphantly, I asked the salesman to pack it for me.

"We both want chocolate chip ice-cream!" Alayna exclaimed excitedly.
I raised my brow. "Okay. I will order it for you both. Sit here until I come back." I said while guiding them to the chairs.
Ordering the ice-creams and sitting with the kids, I thought how my life would change from now on. I wouldn't be alone. I would always have to think about someone else before myself and take care of her. I would have to be there for her through the good and the bad.
My thoughts were cut short when the tray was placed in front of us. I watched them happily grabbing their ice-creams. "Won't you both have dinner?" I inquired while raising my brow.
"We will. But for now let us enjoy our ice-creams." Amira replied while having a spoonful of her ice-cream.
"If you both skip dinner then answer the ladies yourself." I said while leaning back and relaxing on the chair, thinking how they would get scolded. It would be fun, I mean watching the show.
"Bhai, you will answer them." Alayna smirked.
"No I won't."
"Yes you will. Because..." Alayna said while fluttering her eyelashes before looking at Amira.
What was going on here? "Yeah, because?" I looked at her curiously.
"Because if you won't answer them then we will tell them your secret." Alayna whispered mischievously, a smug smile curving on her lips as she turned to Amira. "Right, Amira?"
The grin from my face vanished as I looked at her, confused and horrified.
