CHAPTER 19

The king takes out his communication device

Quinn: Can you here me?

Soldier: Yes sir..yes sir we have seen them. We are coming with the group.

Kaiphos(from the side): Fast!!

Quinn: Soldiers, fire at then!!

The soldiers present over there used their rifles and killed a couple of them. Prince tried to injured as many as possible but to avoid them they went to camouflage mode and the soldiers were bewildered and were unable to detect them at all.

Soldier: Sir, where are they? Out of our sight

Quinn: I can't see them. What about you all?

One of them on the ground was killed

Soldier: We are attacked by something unknown

Quinn: Are they...

Alina: What happened?

Quinn: Cant see them...

Darcy: Now who is gonna save us?

Slowly the rest of the soldiers were eliminated too.

Soldier: Sir, I have informed but...rawwggh

Quinn: Hey!! What happened?

The prince was unable to reach them because his ride was injured and no one was present over them to help them. Before the balloon could be touched, three missiles came from down and hit them. As they were hit, they came back to their normal(visible) form and this incident made others totally frightened by it, one of them mistakenly pierced the balloon with its beak and they started to descend downwards. Before those Griffins could do any more of the damage, the missiles hit them and they fell down. After getting down from it, they had a sigh of relief. The prince staggered to his feet but reached them and hugged Darcy.

Darcy: You're hurt...let me help you

Quinn: It's nothing big...

Quelin: Are you fine?

Quinn: Yes I'm but who shot them?

Soldier: He brought us here

Kaiphos(puffs): Whoo??

Empephus walks in, carrying a missile launcher with him. Everyone was happy and startled at the same way.

Empephus: So how was that?

Quelin: Oh Empephus, thank God

Kaiphos(touching that launcher): What is this thing?

Empephus: It's one of my new creation. I knew something like that could happen

Darcy: Are you an astrologer too?

Empephus(smiles): I'm a scientist. I had been watching few irregular incidents in this area for quite long

Alina: Like what?

Empephus: Animals scared, odd wind patterns...blah blah

Lyra: So what did you do?

Empephus: Though unseen on the screen or by our eyes, every living thing has heat signatures and this device is based on that.

Lyra: If you could have informed us before, prince hadn't been hurt. How can you be so irresponsible?

Empephus: I'm sorry but I didn't know about your plans. You never shared private lives

Darcy: Aww...mom ask sorry to him

Quinn: Let's not fight. I'm good but need I need help

Empephus: It's fine. It took me few days to make it

Darcy(duchenne smiling): Wow...made within few days??

Empephus(edgy smile): Yess...

Quinn stares at Darcy and she doesn't make eye contact anymore.

Quelin: Well that's acceptable. Empephus, good job. Once again you proved your loyalty

Empephus: It's my job, your honor. We need to do something with the dead soldiers

Kaiphos: Just leave them. Their family and friends will be informed

Empephus: Leave them??

Kaiphos: Yes...why waste time on this auspicious day?

Darcy: Take the prince for medical help

Empephus(upset): Yes yes

Alina: Even Pregus is hurt.

Empephus: I will call the veterinarian.

The birthday boy was taken to the hall in the castle and Pregus was treated in the forest itself and the prince resting. Empephus came back to the castle

Emepehus: Well Pregus just has suffered an internal venous bleeding.

Quinn: What!!???

Empephus: Nothing to worry about. The nurses and I got it undercover too

Alina: Huhh...too what?

Empephus: I mean it's nothing new but these creatures need to be studied properly to avoid further issues

Lyra: Oh so are these are some kind of new species?

Empephus(taking out his tablet): They have the same physiology like those we have but these are able to go invisible. Can be deadly

Darcy: You are really smart...

Empephus: Sir, we must keep an eye on them

Quelin: Should I arrange soldiers over there?

Empephus: I will provide some of the tools I made to trap them

Darcy: Now they won't harm us anymore

After Quinn was examined....

Quinn: Ooff Empephus, you saved me

Empephus: Sir, you're making me feel embrassed

Darcy: You are even good at medical

Empephus: I've been learning from all the doctors present in the castle

Kaiphos, still eager to know about the gun. He silently goes to the corner and examines it closely.

Empephus(shouting): Don't touch it!!

Kaiphos: Wooh take it easy. The nose is upwards

Empephus: Still the missile will hit you or someone else. Probability of hitting you is more

Kaiphos(scratching his head): How?

Quelin: Empephus, would you like to discuss it and other matters over lunch?

Empephus: I would love to...but now I need to go outside

Darcy: Why so? Why don't you enjoy with us?

Empephus: I'm really sorry but I don't belong here

Quinn: Why are you talking like that?

Lyra: Is everything fine?

Empephus: Yes, everything is totally fine

Quelin: Any health issues, Empephus? You look fatigued

Empephus: I'm fine, just worried about the project

Quelin(placing his hand over his shoulder): You're more precious to us than that. Do you get it?

Empephus: Yes, sir

Quelin: Take care....
