Phone conversation between Mya and her mother;
MYA - "Hey mom, I can't come home this weekend which means I'm missing you and dad's anniversary dinner, I'm sorry"
MYA'S MOM - "That's okay baby, there would be other anniversary dinners so you just focus on school"
MYA - "Thanks for understanding mom, I gotta go now though, I got a lot of books to cover so I'll be at the library"
MYA'S MOM - "Okay hunny, but don't study too much, make sure you get enough rest and eat well okay Mya?"
MYA - "Okay mom, I love you, bye"
MYA'S MOM - "I'll break the news to your father, I love …."
Conversation ends…
I had to end the conversation with my mother because if I hadn't she would go on and on and on about unimportant, unnecessary things. Any other day I would be very much attentive to my mother's gossips but not today. I need to be ready for my exam tomorrow and I also need the weekend to prepare for another exam I have on Monday so I have no time for anything else but study. Being a Law student is hard work, I have lots of books to read and a lot of laws to memorize.
It's already 1:30pm and I'm just about to leave my apartment and walk over to the library located on my campus. I live five minutes away so I could study as late as the library allows. The library would always open later than usual around this time of the semester as requested by the Student Guild.
...….
I've been at the library for ten hours, which isn't bad because some students, especially med students, stay longer. I did take a couple of bathroom breaks and I also spent half an hour at the cafeteria.
Before I left I waved goodnight to campus police and made my way off campus grounds and into the direction of my apartment. It's pretty late so there's no cars passing by and nobody around. It's also freezing and there is nothing I would want more than to be in the warmth of my apartment.
As I pass the nearby quick shop I notice the empty carpark except for one spot. A creepy black panel van is parked in the darkest area of the car park. What creeped me out the most was the headlights of the van turned on as if the driver of the van started it when I passed the quick shop. I was a sprinter in High School so I ran the rest of the way to my apartment.
I blew out a breath of relief when I saw my apartment building. I walked up my staircase and looked around before walking to my door. Not a creepy van in sight. Thank goodness. I'm now rummaging through my bag to get my apartment keys. I hope I hadn't left it back at the library because there is no way I'll be going back to get it.
My head is bent down looking for my keys and when I finally lay my hands on them I lift my head and felt a wet cloth make its way to my mouth and an arm grabbed my waistline. I felt like my heart left my body. I'm kicking and trying to scream for help but the person holding me has their hand around my nose and whatever I'm breathing in is making me drowsy. I was getting weaker by the second and it wasn't long until the darkness overwhelmed me.
...
"Where am I?
I woke up slowly, feeling groggy and drowsy and really out of place. Then it hit me. Everything came rushing back to me like it happened a minute age. Suddenly I felt my skin shaking while all the hair on my body stood still like a pointed needle. My heart is racing. Looking around I could see nothing but pitch black. I keep looking for any evidence of light escaping through cracks or doors or even a window but found none. The darkness is all around me. A sudden pang struck my heart. I try to move but my body is strapped down. My hands are tied behind my back, my ankles are also tied up and somehow the ropes that are tied to my ankles are connected to the ropes that ties my hands together. "What the f#@$"? I'm having a panic attack and I start to scream through the bondage that covers my mouth. I scream to the top of my lungs for help while the tears stream down my face. 'SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME'.
