“Where am I? I woke up slowly, feeling groggy and drowsy and really out of place. Then it hit me. Everything came rushing back to me like it happened a minute ago. Suddenly I felt my skin shaking while all the hair on my body stood still like pointed needles. My heart can’t stop racing. Looking around I could see nothing but pitch black. I keep looking for any evidence of light escaping through cracks or doors or even a window but found none. The darkness is all around me. A sudden pang struck my heart. I try to move but my body is strapped down. “What the f#@$”? I’m having a panic attack and I start screaming through the bondage that covers my mouth. I scream to the top of my lungs for help. ‘SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME’. 

Mya Davis is law student at the University of the West Indies. She lives five minutes off campus. It is advised that female students should not walk off campus grounds alone at night because of the many rumored rape accusations. Mya is always careful until that night she had to study late at the campus library due to final exams beginning the next day. That night has changed Mya’s life FOREVER.

I quietly moved Mya to my bedroom while Gianna was downstairs. 


"The bathroom is through the door to your left and the other is my closet", I pointed out while showing Mya around my room. 


"Am I meeting your sister tonight or in the morning because..."


Before Mya could finish her sentence the doors to my bedroom opens and prances in, unannounced I might add, is my sister. She was heading straight for my bed but stops dead in her tracks when she noticed Mya. 


"Ohh hello there" Gianna says, completely ignoring my outburst and coming closer to Mya. 


"Gianna this is Mya, my girlfriend. Mya this is my baby sister Gianna" Gianna's face lit up when I referred to Mya as my girlfriend. 


"Oh my gosh!!! GIRLFRIEND!!!" Gianna screamed in glee. I knew she would be happy about me having a girlfriend. She's been wanting me to settle down for quite some time now. "This is so exciting I cannot wait to tell mom". 


Oh crap. I forgot about my mother. My sister never keeps anything from my mother. The minute she tells my mother about Mya my mother would be on the next flight over here to see for herself. 


"Gianna can I have a word with you, privately" I said while taking her out of my room, "Please do not tell mother". 


"Why not?" Gianna said while folding her arms in protest. 


"Because we just started our relationship. I really want to see where this goes and I don't want to scare Mya away. When I'm ready for Mother to meet her I want it to be on my timing so please do not tell anyone about her. Please Gi, I'm begging you". 


"You really do care for her, I could see it all over your face".


"Yes I do so would you please not tell Mother about Mya?"


"I'm going to bed now, good night Lucy".


"Could you sleep in the other guest room, Mya has some stuff there", I just remembered.


"Wow, you guys just started dating and she's already moving in! This is more serious than I thought" Gianna said sarcastically before disappearing into another bedroom.


My sister is the most annoying person in my family. I walk back to my bedroom to find Mya standing in the same spot I left her, not that I'm surprised.


"Mya for this to work you have to be comfortable with me, we have to act like a real couple", I say while walking towards her. 


"Act the way you would with your past boyfriends" I encouraged. 


When I said that Mya's facial expression changed. 


"What is it?" I asked concerned, "Oh F***", Mya's kidnapping slipped my mind for a moment. Maybe she had a boyfriend all along, "I'm sorry Mya, you have a boyfriend already" I say, a bit disappointed. The thought of Mya with another man angers me.


"Oh no it's not that. I never had a boyfriend before. I'm just worried that I may not know how to play the girlfriend part." 


"How is it possible that you never had a boyfriend before", I'm shocked and relieved at the same time.


"I never had the time for relationships" she explained, "plus I have four brothers and a lot of male relatives" she said with a giggle. Gosh this girl is gorgeous. "If you don't mind can I got to sleep now?" she said, taking me out of my thoughts.


"Yes of course" I watched her go over to the left side of my bed and cuddles up in my bedsheets. 


"Good night" she says softly but loud enough for me to hear her. 


I usually sleep on the left side of my bed but I'll make an exception for Mya. I go over to the right side of my bed and slowly climb in, trying my best not to startle Mya. My mind goes back to her saying that she never had a boyfriend before. Does this mean that Mya's a virgin?
