Chapter 37

Aizawa POV

I rolled my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose, "That problem child…"

"Who was that Eraser?" Mandalay asked with her head tilted.

"Alex Kurosaki. Let's just say they're a special case." I stated plainly, "They're part of this new program we are trying to implement at UA."

"Oh, that makes sense. Anyway back onto topic! What are you hoping for your students to gain at this summer camp?"

"We're hoping to get them strong enough to get permits to use their quirks if there's ever an emergency. And provisional licenses that will allow them to work as heroes. Most importantly, with all the villainous activity we've been tracking, they need to be able to defend themselves-"

"Ugh guys, something got picked up on my sensors," Pixie-Bob interrupted.

Mandalay and I walked over to her as she explained, "It picked up a high energy signal as well as an unfamiliar anomaly. The energy signal was a surprise, but this anomaly is odd. I've never seen anything like this before…"

A hologram came out of her headset as it demonstrated the graphs. In one graph, the numbers were off the charts and rising to extremely high levels. The second one had the graph reflected and the numbers kept moving in opposition of each other. When one bar rose, the reflected bar lessened. They worked in perfect yet messy harmony.

The high-energy spike must be Midoriya and if that's true, then the other graph must be Kurosaki's. Is this what it looks like when two independent quirks work together within the same body!?

I narrowed my eyes, "Pixie-Bob, can you please record and copy the data of these graphs onto a hard drive for me later."

She nodded firmly as I nodded back in acknowledgment. This might be good data for Nezu to look over.

First POV

I landed swiftly on the ground just in time to see Izuku swoop in to save Koda. Not wasting any time, I absorbed confusion, fear, and curiosity. I haven't used curiosity in a while. Hopefully, it won't be too hard to handle.

No one was paying attention to me and I took the opportunity to use their excitement from earlier to give me a speed boost. Leaping through the trees, I decided it would be best to separate from everyone. The beasts will most likely be concentrated to where they are and where the predicted trajectory is. And knowing my ever so predictable classmates, they're gonna go for a straight shoot through the forest.

Hopefully, if I separate from them and take a different path, I'll be able to encounter as few beasts as possible, if any at all.

Climbing to the top of one of the tallest trees I could find, I looked for a path that would be the easiest as well as the fastest. Also, to check for any beasts in the area. As I skimmed the forest, I saw movement about 800 yards northeast from my current position. It wasn't moving much so it's probably waiting for any students to come within range.

Clearing my mind and using the curiosity I collected from earlier, the world around me slowed. A small blue line appeared in front of me telling me the best path to take as well as pointing out many places and obstacles that would get in the way. Curiosity is a weird emotion to use. Curiosity is the desire to know more or learn something. To use this emotion you must have a single intention in mind and nothing else for it to come to you clearly. If not, then the information can come out not complete or incorrect.

Focussing on the blue path in front of me, I remembered it the best I could before deactivating my quirk. As soon as I did, I rubbed the temples of my head.

"Already getting a migraine...great…" Because curiosity is something I almost never use since it's such a minor emotion, my tolerance to its side effects and drawbacks is very small.

Taking a deep breath I used confusion to make my clones of myself and had each of them stay 100 feet away from me in all directions. They are going to act as decoys for these beasts as well as sensors. If one of them is destroyed, I will know the location of the beast and try to avoid it the best I can. That may seem like a chicken way to play, but I'm trying to get to the camp as soon as possible, not fight dirt Godzilla.

Climbing through the trees, I sprinted from branch to branch keeping the blue path in mind which wasn't easy. Eventually, I got to where I saw the top of the dirt beast from earlier, and I erased my presence. Stepping cautiously on the forest floor, I crept around quietly. Just when I thought I was in the clear. A giant rawr sounded to my left and I felt one of my clones get destroyed. Well fuck. It must've changed its path, or Pixie-Bob made it change its path.

The beast came running at me and what in the world is that!? It looks like if a rock and a dinosaur had a child and that child got dropped on the head one too many times. Since this is just a drone, vibe check won't work on it.

Climbing back into the trees, I waited in the thick collection of leaves. I couple of stems and twigs scratched at my face and body, but I paid no attention to it. I closed my eyes and reopened them calmly. I haven't done this in forever. Whenever I used to "take care of" my targets, I would get into this zone where nothing else mattered other than eliminating them.

The creature was steadily walking past the tree I was hiding in. Its footsteps shook the earth as it came closer and closer. Eventually, it stopped right in front of the tree I was in and I made eye contact with its dirt pupil. Jumping out, I firmly grasped my knife as my clones also came out of their hiding spots. My remaining three clones attacked it's two legs, cutting them off as the other went for the neck. The creature fell as I landed on top of it and ruthlessly stabbed its head one, two, three, four, five times. Too many for me to count. After stabbing it once more, the creature stopped moving and then melted into the muddy puddle it once was.

Breathing heavily, I wiped the bit of mud off my brow. I scowled, I can't wait to get back to the camp.

*timeskip*

I sprinted out of the forest as I came to a clearing. There was a huge building standing towards the back of the huge tree-free circle. Pixie-Bob, Mandalay, and Aizy were standing there waiting at the entrance.

"Look! Look! One kitty is here! Very fast too!" Pixie-Bob exclaimed excitedly.

Aizy looked at his watch, "It took you 2 hours 31 minutes and 43 seconds. Not too bad, problem child."

Smiling, I sat down and collapsed onto the dirt floor, "If you ever make me do that again, I will send you to god faster than an angry mother."

"Have fun trying," Aizy chuckled.

Turning my head, I glared at him, "I hope that when you sleep tonight, both sides of your pillow are warm."

Standing back up and dusting off my clothes. Pixie-Bob jumped up and wrapped her arms around me, "I chose this one! They got here faster than I could've ever imagined! Can I keep them Mandalay!? Please!"

I smiled as I supported our weights, "I have no objections."

A bright smile appeared on her face, "Yes!"

Mandalay walked over and pried Pixie-Bob off me as she apologized, "There are some premade Bentos in the fridge inside. You can eat that while we wait for your friends."

Food!
