Royalty AU! Part 2

"Your majesty, may I ask, why are we going to attack them at night again?"

Scarlett rolled her eyes. "We all know immortals are smart, they are stronger than us mortals, but they have a fatal flaw: being drunk at night."

The entire tent has filled with confusion. Scarlett sighed, why are they so smart yet a bunch of idiots? Duh, I didn't tell them about my logic; she slapped her forehead.

"You know that when people are drunk, they act much different? Like their true selves come out? Or a horny side comes out?"

Everyone blushed in embarrassment. This had happened in front of her, so embarrassing. "We even forget things and we don't pay attention to our surroundings. Immortals are the same as us and experience the same thing."

"Your majesty, may I ask again?"

"Yes, you can."

"So you're saying when the immortals are drunk at night, we attack?"

"Yes. Even if they are not drunk, people don't like being woken up in their sleep and they can't register what's happening around them. Also, when we attack, we are going to be quiet. Quiet as heck and we don't somebody to sound the alarm do we?"

Everyone shook their heads. "Good, now go sleep. We have a long night ahead. And tell the rest of the soldiers about this okay?"

Everyone curtsied. "Yes, your majesty."

"Wait!" they stopped in their steps.

"We'll be dividing the army into groups of two hundred. There will be five in each group and they could handle about. I guess, at least two tents?"

"Your majesty, may I suggest something?"

"Sure."

"If the immortals aren't asleep and are doing something nasty, can we spray that thing we brought from the witch? To make them go to sleep?"

Scarlett nodded. "Sure you can. Or you can do a surprise attack, I don't care."

"So everyone got your armor? An emergency knife just in case?"

A bunch of yes' came from the crowd. "Okay. so moving on!"

They left the camp and trekked towards the immortals' base. Everyone was feeling uneasy, immortals were a terrifying lot.

Their rituals, their way of bringing up children, their ways of revenge, ugh! They were terrifying even in the rumors. How would they be in actual life? Was their majesty a little screw loose to even wage a war against them?

Her majesty was the most intelligent woman they have met in their lives. She wouldn't do something stupid. Yes, their mothers and sisters were smart too, and they had a lot of respect for them.

But her majesty was more respected in the empire. Humble, smart, strong (for a short person), and probably the most daring person they had ever met.

Scarlett put up her hand, and they stopped walking. She whispered. "Take out those scent removers. Now! And climb up a tree or something!" They did as she said, spreading it all over the faces and armor, and climbed up a tree.

Some peered over her shoulders and took their binoculars out. Downhill, the scene was filled with immortals drinking, smoking, and eating like savages. Some of them had their arms around a prostitute, not specifically female.

Tents were lit up, and one could hear some indecent noises coming from the nearest ones. Some were fighting with their comrades in the rink.

Scarlett narrowed her eyes, trying to find the immortal empress. She was sitting at the head of the table, talking to someone who might be the general or something like that.

That man had his arm around some lady. Scarlett couldn't hear what they were saying, but it looked like the lady was also a part of the military.

Scarlett took a deep breath and turned towards her squadron. "Okay, so here's the plan: at night, we'll attack. I found this whistle kinda thing for dogs and I don't know if my stupidity will work or not, but I'm thinking we could blow this and the werewolves would come to us."

"Your majesty, would it work?"

"I don't know either, this is my first time hoping it'll work."

She turned once again towards the crowd. It was pin-drop silence and the immortal empress was probably giving a speech since her lips were moving. Ugh! She made a barrier!

The immortal empress moved her head towards the mortals hidden and smiled. Shit. The soldiers held their breaths, waiting for her to announce someone is watching us, but she didn't.

She went on with her speech. One of the soldiers whispered. "Eh? Why didn't she do anything?"

"I don't know either."

Soon night fell. No indecent noises, no savage fighting, it was quiet. The guards were roaming around, some of them were werewolves since some of them had half shifted. It was time. Scarlett took the whistle and blew on it.

A half-shifted werewolf's ears perked up. Yes! It worked! He started sniffing and crouching in their direction. He left the camp and came closer to the squad.

Scarlett nodded towards one of the archers in her group. He notched an arrow and aimed at the werewolf. He was too close enough. His fingers left the arrow and struck the werewolf right on the head.

Bam! His body fell on the ground and a werewolf's head turned towards them. Yes! The trap was laid!
