Secret Lovers, Part 4

After classes, Toma wanted to bring me at some place. Even though there was a lot of work needed to be finished, I tagged along because he really wanted to be with me there. When we got at th3 place he was talking about, I find it really awesome since it has the view of the whole city.

"Woah, you can see everything from here." Looking at the view felt great. I could feel the fresh breeze on my face and I pretty much expect that my hair is already ruined by the wind.

"I know, right? This place looks great!"

"Yeah. Thanks for bringing me here." I told him.

"…that's nothing, I really wanted to bring you here anyway and, I kind of want to tell you something."

Not that I wasn't expecting this, I'm just not very surprised of him suddenly saying that after bringing me at a place like this. I just grew curious of what he had to say. "What is it?"

Toma takes me left hand and brought out a ring from his pocket, my eyes widens the instant I saw the ring. "You probably wondered what I did yesterday, that I had to do some important stuff yesterday. I actually made some time to choose a ring that'll suit you, and so I bought this." Then he slid the ring on my ring finger and kissed my hand.

I didn't know how to react but I simply felt happy receiving the ring from him. As I stared at the ring on my left hand for a moment, I turned to face Toma.  "Y-You didn't have to go this far."

"I have to. I wan't something to remind you of… us." He said with flushed face.

Although I feel the very same as him, there was a bitter part of me that I couldn't stop from ruining the moment. "Thank you but… I can't wear this on public, you know. P-People might ask and find out."

His smile lessens as he heard what I said, he only laughed it off dryly and crosses his arms to rest it on the rail fence. "You can put that ring on your necklace and hide it, right? It won't be too much of a problem that way."

"Yeah, I'll do that." Somehow, I felt guilty that he said the ring is a problem. I wanted to say that it's not a problem… but that would be a lie, if word gets out, we'll both get into scandalous trouble. He knows that as well, don't he?

He does… right?

"Erm, should I buy you a ring too? Can I know where you bought this? I'll get you a ring that matches mine." I asked, but he raises his right hand to show a ring that matches mine. "Don't bother, I already bought one for me." He smirks and grabs my hand with the ring he gave.

"Eh? That's unfair… shouldn't I be the one to buy that ring for you?"

He didn't bother responding to me and just started speaking out his thoughts. "Ahh… I can feel that we're really a couple now."

"Toma!"

"I wish you could just wear the ring like this forever."

"H-Hey, you should've just let me buy the ring for that's meant for you."

"Hahaha! Don't bother about it that much. It's fine the way it is."

"I'm not some kind of girl that just accepts gifts you know. I-I'm a guy too, and guys are supposed to be the one that buys gifts for their lovers." I told him.

"But I, I'm a guy too."

"Y-Yeah. We're both guys…" we fell silent for a sec, and bursted laughing after.

"Oh man, I guess it's kind of hard having a relationship with a guy." Toma said.

"It wouldn't be this hard if you just let me buy that ring for you." I told him.

"I said it's fine, having you by my side is more than enough already."

"But I really wanted to buy you that ring too because you bought one for me." It's really unfair that he bought both of the rings we're wearing. I wanted to do something for him too. "Well, you can just compensate in other ways. You can make me feel good." He said while smirking.

That got me staring at Toma. I thought he'll start laughing, telling it's a joke but the look on his face shows that he's serious. I knew what he meant by that. "Haha, sure… I'll make some of your favorite meals later." I said, trying to shake of those nasty thoughts that was making me nervous.
